This pedals has a lot of tricks up its sleeve..s.till havent figured it out completely. I am not too sure if this was designed as a keyboard delay. ANyway, if you keep it simple, then you can easily get a range of amazing delay sounds

Sound Quality : 10
I am running my Tele's through this thing into a blues junior with a green back in it. The sounds is amazing clean or distorted, reminds me of old Edge stuff and more recently Bloc party. You can really control all aspects of the delay and tweak to get the desired effect.

Reliability : 7
Not totally dependable, but the thing is 30 years old...i start to freak out when it is having a bad day...i rely so heavily on this little box. I am looking at getting the pedal switch altered to something more robust as this is where most of the inconsistency is, apart from that, its built like a fucking truck.

Doeas AMdek even exist anymore...forget about it!

Overall Rating : 9
This box is a true gem....rare as hell and so ugly its beautiful. You just cant get them anymore...forget it. I was so lucky to score this from my brother in law. When he mentioned he had an anologue delay I could use, i expected an old boss and was dissapointed when I saw it, but once i started to screw around with this thing i flipped out. It has a 3 way adjustable compressor in it, 2 types of delay, one immediate, one delayed (if ya know what I mean). The sound is ture vintage delay...you can only get it frolm a delay unit this old. Its sooo warm and quiet and has soo many varieties of delay. This thing is amazing...thanks Amdek!....Thanks brother in law!

Super easy to get a great warm delay from this pedal.

Sound Quality : 10
I had been using an Ibanez 9 series analog delay that was great, but it died adter about 10 years of steady use and touring abuse.I've had the Amdek for about two years now. They really sound almost identical, very quiet and very warm. Maybe the Amdek is a little warmer sounding. The Amdek also seems to be of tougher construction. I don't think this box will ever die, but we'll see.

Apparently, Amdek was the company that became Boss/Roland. This seems to be made better than most Boss pedals and is comparable to my Roland CE-1 in construction. I doubt I'll ever find another one of these. I picked this one up at Sam Ash in NYC.

I play Strats, Teles and Les Pauls (all American made0 through a Klon>Roland CE-1>Amdek Delay>Matchless Chieftain.

Reliability : 10
30 years old and still sounds great, incredible!

Long gone!

I play about 200 gigs a year in a R&B/Blues band. We tour all over, but mostly the East coast. I like to keep my setup simple; there's less to go wrong. I don't use backup pedals, because I can get by without them if necessary. I do have a backup amp, a Fender Blues DeVille, but the Matchless has never let me down.

I doubt anyone out there will find another Amdek Delay, they're fairly rare, but if you do, scoop it up, you won't be sorry!

This unit is very easy to get a good delay sound out of. It's analog so the delay settings are roughly 300ms or so.

Sound Quality : 10
It's analog so the delay settings are roughly 300ms or so. It doesn't seem to be very noisy. It takes very well to modulation effects....I have an original first issue E.H. Samll Stone that seems to work hand in hand with this unit. It just creates a very organicly warm lush sound

Reliability : 8
Very reliable unit that seems sturdy enough to use in a live situation.

As far as I know this unit was sold as a kit. I don't think that they are in the business of guitar equipment anymore.

Overall Rating : 10
If what you are looking for is a very warm spacy type of sound, then this is the delay you are looking for. I've tried Boss, Ibanez, Electro Harmonix, KMD, Ross and Yamaha analog delays and this unit is far superior to them. The closest to it was a Ibanez AD-80 analog delay. I love....The Cure, Radio Head and Ride.....This peal will give that sound to you. It's the closest sound to tape delay around.
