Ease of Use : 9
This pedal has two control knobs (volume and fuzz) and one footswitch. It does take some previous experience with basic fuzz pedals to appreciate the tone control and quality; the gear you use also can contribute to the sound quality, so many factors are variables when finding the sound to your taste.

Sound Quality : 9
The Fuzz Face can cover quite a vast tonal range when properly modified (if your pedal is below par off of the factory line). True bypass amazing, no loss of tone when off. Again, I have noticed quite a tonal difference between different amps, so the gear you use is an absolute factor.

Reliability : 10
The work done at analogman is among the highest available; I have no doubt that the pedal will last. If you examine their attention to detail, it really is a true work of art. I would gig it without a backup any day.

Customer Support : 10
The people at analogman have the best customer support in this industry out there. Anyone who has worked with Mike will tell you the same; he treats everyone with respect, courtesy, and punctuality.

Overall Rating : 10
It is a great value for the results you get. The work is of the highest quality, the sound is great. I have played for a few years, but my opinion is based on the sound quality and not my ability! It's a great investment- his work retains its value.

Very easy to get a good sound if you have a good tube amp and a good guitar and no how to use your fingers for dynamics.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a 55/60 Fender Srat into a 64 Super Reverb. It's hard not to get a good sound. My signal chain is Strat>TeesePictureWah>AnalogManFuzz>AnalogManTS9/808>SuperReverb. Some times I'll have a ZVex Fuzz Factory in the chain for "mondo Fuzz" along with the AnalogMan Fuzz. With a fresh battery this thing always sounds great and yes of course it has that Hendrix and Clapton sound. It is very smooth and believe it or not you still get definition and great dynamics with this. Your guitar's character comes through as it should. I like the sound at practice volumes, very fuzzy, and at gig volumes, 5-6, where the amp starts breaking up is where it works best. Alot o' sustain and great harmonic overtones and feedback.

Reliability : 9
Germanium Fuzz pedals aren't the most reliable pedals around, temperature tantrums and such. I always have another Fuzz pedal with me at gigs for a backup, ya never know.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is a people person. I email him, he gets back to me the same day, sometimes overnite, we're on opposite coasts.

I play Blues and Blues/Rock so my setup gets me what I want. The Fuzz takes me over the top when I need it. I've been playing for 27yrs and lovin' it! I also have a 62 vintage reissue strat and a Les paul Custom 54 reissue, I love single coils! My other amp is a 65 Vibrolux Reverb, Sweet! I've tried Roger Mayer's Classic Fuzz and Axis Fuzz, the latter was thin sounding and malfunctioned alot, the former didn't have enough output and wasn't smooth enough. I have a London Fuzz that is nice but to my ear not as articulate as Mike's pedal. I own a Crest Audio Fuzzface that is not bad but loses it in the low end and I have 2 ZVex Fuzz Factory's that I love, they're like the new millenium FuzzFace, lot's o' sounds out of 'em. What I like most about it is it allows me to still get that fingers on wood sound and works with the dynamics of my playing. I would definitely replace it if it were lost or stolen. I'm planning on getting another for a backup. If you understand playing with dynamics and what a fuzz can do, this is the one to buy.
