Ease of Use : No Opinion
Its easy to use in principle, in that there are few knobs and its clearly set out. However, I found the knobs pretty useless, because they ranged from too much compression on minimum through to too much compression on max. I really wanted to be able to turn the compression down.

Sound Quality : 6
OK, I feel like a complete heretic with my rating here. Burn me at the stake, I didnt like it. I waited for years for this thing to arrive. At the time it arrived I had been tracking in the studio with my rig left mic'd up, and was getting fab sounds. When the bicomp arrived, I plugged in into the chain, but in every instance we all preferred the sound without the compressor on. On my unit, both channels (orange squeeze and ross) were pretty similar, and I didnt feel like I needed both. In both channel, the pedal dealt out ridiculous doses of compression that just doofed my sound over. I just didnt like it. And the thing is, I love compression. I kept it for a bit, tried it with different amps and rigs. It was OK for some, but my favourite setting was still bypass. FOr interest, I use strats with tubescreamer and 59 bassman. I tried the Carl Martin compressor next, it was OK, but, you guessed it, I prefered the bypass sound. I like rack compression post-microphone the best.

Reliability : 10
No problems encountered in the short time I've owned it. I sold it for more than I bought it which was nice. ANalogman's stuff is really well made I think.

The Bi-CompROSSor is extremely easy to use...Attack, Sustain and Volume on the ROSS side, and Volume on the Orange Squeezer side. The manual is straight forward, easy to understand, and explains the function of the pedal in perfect detail! For those of you who don't know, this pedal is designed and based on 2 of the most popular compressor pedals in history... the old grey ROSS Compressor and the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer.

Sound Quality : 10
It is a true-bypass pedal, so if you don't need to use it on a certain song, you can bypass it without affecting your guitar's tone! And yes, when on, it truly does not color your tone....ABSOLUTELY TRANSPARENT, and that is the beauty of this pedal, you get YOUR TONE without any added noise or B.S.!!! And by the way, this pedal works wonderfully for bass too! No B.S. !!!

My other effects pedals are a vintage ROSS R-70 phaser/distortion, vintage BOSS CE-1 chorus ensemble, vintage MXR M-117 flanger (not the crappy re-issue), Boss DD-2 delay, Morley JD-10, Digitech Whammy and Morley Bad Horsie 2 Wah (soon to be replaced with a Teese Real McCoy Wah) in front of a 1993 Peavey 5150 block logo amp (with JJ tubes), with a Furman PL-Plus series II, TC Electronics G-Sharp multi-effects, BBE 482i sonic maximizer, dbx 266XL compressor/gate (used for gate function only) and a Digitech TSR-24S multi-effects processor (rarely used) in the effects loop. Also have a Marshall AVT-50H amp head for a backup.
My guitars are...1988 Gibson Les Paul Standard, 2004 American Fender Strat Deluxe with Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups and Warmoth compound radius neck, 1998 American Deluxe Peavey Wolfgang, 1990 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH, 1985 Kramer Focus 1000 (alder body) with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups, 1983 Ibanez DT155BK X-series Destroyer, 1989 Ovation 1758 Elite 12-string acoustic, 1978 Gretsch TK300 bass, and an Ibanez TR Expressionist Fretless bass.

Reliability : 10
Analogman's pedals are built like M-1 tanks...damn near indestructable! No cheap, flimsy Korean junk here people!!!! If it was lost or stolen, I would ABSOLUTELY buy another one! In fact, I just might buy another one to stash in the closet for future value!!!!

Customer Support : 10
I have e-mailed Mike a few times, and he has always responded to me quickly! After I placed my order, the pedal arrived to me 3 days later, US PRIORITY mail!!!
Although I have had ABSOLUTELY no problems with my brand new Bi-compROSSor, Mike's reputation preceeds him, and I am completely confident that he would help me out with any problems should they occur!

Overall Rating : 10
OK, I can understand anyone having reservations over anyone giving a perfect 10 rating on anything reviewed here...but I cannot express how delighted I am over this Bi-CompROSSor! It truly lives up to the hype and reputation! If you are in the market for a compressor pedal, this is the only way to go!!!!

Enjoy!

Surely the Bi-Comprossor could not be easier to use? There are two compressors in the box; each has an on/off switch and a volume control. In addition, the Ross side has Attack and Sustain knobs.

For people who like to fiddle there are a couple of trim pots inside the box, but I'm happy to leave them at the factory settings.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is excellent. I mostly use the unit between my Yamaha 5-string bass and Roland DB-500 amplifier where it neither colours the sound nor robs it of its vitality; it simply does what it is supposed to do.

The Ross side of the unit is quieter than the pre-amp of my Roland amplifier; therefore it is very useful for applying gain to my passive bass. The Squeezer side is a bit noisier, but by no means prohibitively so.

Reliability : 10
The pedal seems to be very well made. The switches are nice and chunky and I feel sure that it will provide many years of trouble-free service.

My amplifier has a compressor built in which would have to suffice if the AnalogMan unit failed. However, I'd want to replace the Bi-Comprossor as soon as possible.

Customer Support : 10
I have e-mailed Mike with a couple of queries and he has always replied very promptly.

Overall Rating : 9
I play bass in church and also in a rock band. I'm sometimes called on for guitar duties and have a Fender Stratocaster. I've been playing for about twenty years.

The Bi-Comprossor is a tremendous little box. Harmony Central warn against uncritical reviews, but there really is not much to dislike here. Having used mine for about six months, there is only one thing that I would change. Battery replacement requires that the box be opened, necessitating the removal of three screws. This is a very small gripe, but it would be a little more convenient if the battery were in a clipped compartment.

I cannot criticise the sound and function of the Bi-Comprossor, especially considering its reasonable price.

Before I bought the AnalogMan unit I had used the MXR Dynacomp, Boss CS-2 and the compressors built into various multi-effects. I was most fond of the Dynacomp and it was on the strength of this (and reviews on Harmony Central) that I bought the Bi-Comprossor. I was immediately delighted with the way it worked. However, even greater than the impact of adding it to my rig was the effect of taking it away. I find it shocking if I have to play without the device! Until recently I was reluctant to use effects with the bass, firmly subscribing to the 'tone is in your fingers' school of thought, so this has been quite a revelation.

For the Orange Squeezer side, it couldn't possibly be any easier to use, since "Volume" is the only control you have.
The Ross side is a little more involved, but again, not quite rocket science. "Volume" for the volume boost, "Sustain" controls the amount of compression, and "Attack" controls how quickly the compressor reacts and clamps down on your signal. Since "Attack" and "Sustain" are pretty interactive and take some subtle tweaking to get where you want to go sometimes.

Sound Quality : 10
I played this hooked up through my Fender Prosonic (very under-rated amp), playing a vintage 1959 Fender Jazzmaster. (I haven't used this with my Les Paul yet as it's out getting some modifications. I can't wait)
The sound quality is, in a word, amazing. Perfect transparency. There is zero coloration of the signal. This is true whether the effect is bypassed or active. Off, no coloration of you tone. On, it compresses as much or little as you want, but again it doesn't change the tone at all.
Even though this is basically a hot-rodded version of pre-existing designs, much credit is still due to 'Analog Mike' and his crew. Unlike most compressors, somehow this doesn't seem to amplify much extraneous noise. It really only seems to boost what you want to hear. This can't be an accident, and certainly it wouldn't work this well if this were a simple copy. If you have much experience playing with effects both new and old, boutique and production, it'd would be very obvious to you when using this device that Mike did a very thoughtful case of re-engineering, going step by step and thinking about what could be done to this great designs to make them as near perfect as they're likely to get.
I bought this as I knew I'd need a compressor now and again since I'm finally getting ready to record/perform alot of my stuff, and this thing is so much better than I thought it possibly could be, I can see alot of my tunes that I will want to use this on that I never though I'd have needed it for. The ross side is great for tunes involving many chords with open/ringing notes or alot of arpeggiated chords. Early Beatles/U2/REM/Sunny Day Real Estate sorts of guitar rhythm work are good examples. It also seems very great for indulging your Queens of the Stone age doom rock needs. The Orange Squeezer side strikes me as very good for percussive chording and quick leads. Up tempo rock, or mid temp poppy stuff that cold veer into funk/jazz/r&b territory. I don't see how it can't meet your compression needs.
As a bonus, the Orange Squeezer side seems like a great clean boost for solos in a live context. I know I'll be using it that way too.

Reliability : 10
Having only very recently received this pedal, I can't give you the "I've dropped it out an airplane and went bungy jumping with it for 7 years" sort of badge of reliability approval. But, what I can say is I have eight years of experience with guitar equipment, synth equipment, and studio equipment (I have my own cozy and capable recording set-up in my home). I know the difference between top-notch and crap build quality. I can say this is built with the among highest quality footswitches, audio and power jacks, and shrouded ultra-high intensity LED's I've seen. If you see one in real life, it will be self evident to you that the only way this will stop working is from severe abuse, or a catastrophic accident.
On another quality note, this paint work is the best I've seen on a pedal from anyone. I'm lucky to have a store nearby (Musical Arts Enterprises in Davie, Florida) that stocks alot of boutique stuff you'd normally only get to read about. You can walk in and play most anything from Z. Vex, a good selection of Fulltone, most everything new Electro Harmonix makes, and several other makers I honestly can't recall the names of. This really is the best finish work I've seen, I'd say only Zach Vex is in the same league. The pictures on Mike's site don't do it justice. This gray/black/silver hammerite paint really looks beautiful, the effect when looking dead on looks almost three dimensional. The white lettering and sun design is very impressive and beautiful, it's as bright white as milk or cake frosting, which is pretty impressive considering the thick dark finish it's layered on top of.

Customer Support : 10
Simply put, Mike is a hell of a nice guy. In my experience, he'll respond to questions super fast, in 4-12 hours in most cases. It would be hard to imagine someone being more congenial and helpful. And this is before I even bought anything. What more could you ask? Considering the build quality, barring getting stuck in the middle of a rock club gun fight I don't see how I could need customer support. But if I did, I'm supremely condfident Mike could handle whatever problem comes his way.

Overall Rating : 10
I hate to sound like some yo-yo just blindly singing the praise of a relatively expensive gizmo. I've read alot of that kind of passive bragging in product reviews before.
I paid a little more for it than it normally is new. I bought it from a charity auction for the benefit of victims of Hurricane Katrina. To help those in need, get a great device for my artistic needs, and get to skip the one year waiting list, definitely worth the extra cost.
All that said, I've never wrote a review for anything I've bought before. But since everything involved with this is so excellent, I just had to. So, it's kind of an active thanks to Mike/Analogman.com. Mike is a great guy, this thing has perfect transparent sound quality, and it's one of the best built pieces of gear I've ever seen. Truly an impressive class act. This guy deserves your business, don't hesitate to give it to him.

I have to modify the question for this one - the original question had been "how easy is it to get a good sound out of it?" and that's tough to answer because you can get many variations upon several good tones out of this little box. The combination of two great compressors makes it very versatile, and I probably won't settle on one particular sound, making it nice that you can footswitch in and out of each side. I do know that it sounds great and lets your guitar tone through running either or both sides, and at all the settings I've tried. The only difficulty is picking which sound you want to get!

Sound Quality : 10
My signal chain is Les Paul or PRS Custom 22 to Boss TU2 tuner, the Bi-Comp, Crybaby reissue wah (true bypass), TS808 reissue, AnalogMan chorus (see my review on that - it's awesome, best I've ever heard), and finally Ibanez AD9 analog delay, into either a Fender Blues Jr. (small stuff/recording) or Marshall TSL100/4x12 (big stuff/recording when loud).

The Bi-Comp is noisy if you stop playing and it's on a high setting because it is looking for signal. With the true bypass, though, you can easily stomp out of it if you have like a real quiet part in a song where you don't play for a bit. Other than that, whenever it has a signal it's real quiet, or when set at a more reasonable level. Nothing to fuss about here.

It doesn't affect the sound quality or flavor of the guitar's original sound, but it can, on low amp settings, still make feedback/sustain and draw out some really long tones. It's like the bicomp keeps pushing the note after you hit it on the guitar, I guess is the best way to describe it. The OS side adds a little edge to it, and it's fun to experiment with both sides and switching. So far I like using the Ross side on a medium-ish setting and leaving it on, then when I want some extra I kick in the OS side. Lots of fun could be had here, depending on how you play and what effects you have. Mike says it should go at/near the beginning of the chain so it will affect the other stuff.

As far as getting the sound of my favorite artists, I think that's more up to how I play than this one pedal. That said, it does even out my solos a lot more, and things like switching from picking to hammering and then to two-handed sounds a LOT better with this thing on, so I suppose, yes, it does help.

Reliability : 10
The thing is in a metal box with steel switches and the circuit board is mounted so that even a dent (if that's even possible) would probably not damage it unless it was in a particularly bad spot. I can definitely depend on it and would use it without a backup. I think the only way to stop this from working is to remove it from the signal chain.

Customer Support : 10
As I've said before, AnalogMan is very helpful and quick; once the package was shipped it was here very quickly (priority mail for everything as far as I know), and Mike answered everything via email within 24 hours, usually less. For someone that's as much of an expert on effects and busy with so many orders, it's good to see responses that fast. I haven't needed any upgrades or repairs on it, but I have read customer testimonials that have said AnalogMan is one of the best as far as support goes. On both of my orders (Chorus and the Bi-Comp) I wanted an adaptor and he had to walk me through what to type on the automated ordering system since it was a non-standard order, and he did that without complaint or annoyance. Good company to work with, and I would definitely recommend them for effects and repairs. If he doesn't repair something himself, I guarantee he knows someone who can.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for many years and I am rather fond of my Bi-Comp and my Chorus. Over the years I've owned many pedals, boards, guitars, and such, and am finally settling down with a standard setup that I'll use all the time (with a couple parts in and out). Most of my stuff was listed above in an earlier section, so I won't repeat it here. I chose this product because of its versatility with having both running at once (which is unusual but can be really cool) and also having two semi-legendary compressors available in the same box, and constructed to be sturdier and sound better than the originals! How can you go wrong with that? If I had to pick a favorite feature it would be how much sustain you can eke out of the Ross side with the sustain knob maxed and then playing with the other two knobs. Does it help me make music? The only problem I have is that I don't want to stop messing around and playing, so it's cutting into my sleep time. If it were stolen or lost I would want to replace it quickly; there is a waiting list currently and I can see why. It's worth it to have one, though - and I'm sure Mike is working on filling the backlogged orders right now and will be caught up as soon as is humanly possible.

This could go either way. To some one with minimal or no prior compressor experience the Juicer is pretty simple, the Ross is more complex for the beginer. I have had some prior comp experience so the Bi-Comp is fairly easy. I can not give it a ten in this catagory because of the internal trim pots. I have not adjusted them nor probably will, and this is coming from a cronik tinkerer. I wish the "manual" was more desriptive on the function of the ross associated trim adjustment.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup is->
iabnez SM37 semi hollow w/ seymore in bridge->Willis King Tone Fuzz Germanium->Vox Reissue Clyde->Q-Tron->TS9Dx->TS9->Ross distortion that has been modded->BiComp->MXR EQ->Ibanez AD-80 original->DD5->stereo->ABY->mono->foxrox Provibe #35->Music Man script 65 112 combo.

I have owned. Marshal ed thcompressor, Electroharmonix Soul Preacher(That I modded) MXR super comp. Have use MXR dyna comp, new block but no script, also carl martin compressor. The Marshal was my favorite when I didn't know any better. I took the super comp out, tries the Soul Preacher one last time to see. Maybe 8 months with the super comp helped. Preacher was way easier to use.
The Bicomp is easily quiter than all listed above. I have been trying to eak a ghost note out of my amp for months. With in 30 minutes of goofing with the BiComp I got at least 2 good note evolutions. This may not sound like a big deal but the amp I use was made to not do that. So blooming feedback is a real treat at any reasonable volume.
The juicer adds just a hint of grit. I'm not sure I see the Doobis bro's conection but there again no preamp tubes in amp so that is purely subjective. I can't waite to get another amp with some 12ax7s in it to see what happens.
I originaly ordered this trying to gain(no pun intended)some of Trey's tone. I realized a couple of things in the process. Differant fingers, differant shoes, differant amps, differant blues. What's the point you ask? I guess I moved on. I want my tone. I want the tones I hear rattling inside my crazy ass brain. This is exactly what keeps some people from shelling out the beagals to pay for this. Sure I could still pay the 265 for Trey's tone, it was still 265 just the same. Mind you I have payed less for a running 4 door sedan but was not nearly as satisfied. This is exactly what happens while you stand at your local paint store needing a brush ready to paint. Buy a 5 dollar brush get a 5 dollar finish. This goes back to the ease of use section. this pedal is for the kind of guitar player more concerned about how the note trails off in the distance than if the string winder is motorized.
I can not give this a 10 at this juncture due to inconclusive evidence. Other than that This has met or exceeded my multi-month backlogged expectation checklist.

Reliability : No Opinion
not owned it long enough to say. Looks pretty gumby though.

I have spoken to Mike many times, he has always been promt, courtious with a reply to any of the multitude of things I have asked him or tried to trade him for this here Bi comp. He was even polite when I thought he took to long making it and I was a prick to him about it. Sorry about that Mike. Little did I know how long the waite list really was.

If you can not sit patiently through a 2 hour movie, your going to get antsy waiting for this.

I'll still take you up on that back stage pass any time mike.

I'm an idiot with all pedal/amp/equip setting & adjusting. Been playing guitar for 15 years, mostly on acoustic - about 5 years ago switched to electric. I like equipment that sounds good no matter what you do. The OS side has only one knob - volume! Ross side is just as easy, set the sustain and go - it just sounds good.

Sound Quality : 10
I've only played on it a few times, just got it a couple weeks ago. I bought a Boss CS-3 a couple years ago but took it out of my rig. The tone was thin - noise got amplified - getting good sounds was difficult. My setup: PRS Hollowbody II->bi-comp->ts9/808mod->ts9->wah->fender concert. I've read reviews saying bi-comps sound better with fenders, but can't imagine it sounding much better than it does with my PRS - this is what I wanted, and it delivers, trust that: unlimited sustain - the ross side is sweet, give it a little fuzz and you get endless notes. fat clean tone - os side is perfect for brightening up my clean tone, perfect name too, it juices up your chords. amplify the subtle sounds - many compressors seems to amplify the crap instead of the subtle picking/percussive sounds, or the pick attack during solos. auto-feedback - used to have to turn up loud and make my guitar do all the work.

Very simple. The manual explains it all very clearly.

Sound Quality : 10
This is it! I use the "Ross" side for my Rickenbacker 660/12 for the McGuinn sound and the "Orange Squeezer" side with my recent American Standard Tele and American 57 reissue Strat. All stock instruments. I use a late 70's Super Reverb and '68 Princeton Reverb from Fender and a Tech 21 Trademark 10. Soungs tremendous through all! The compression is very transparent allowing the Guitars natural tone to shine through. I tried the Aphex "Punch Factory" and thought that it colored the sound too much. It added some treble. Plus the compression just didn't have the quality of this pedal.

Reliability : 9
Seems like it will hold up. Quality components were used. The box itself is a pressed metal one, not like the MXR double wide type. I'll knock off 1 number because of this.

Customer Support : 10
All I can say is that the box arrived 1 week after I sent a Money Order to Analogman. That's very fast!

Overall Rating : 10
I was going to order the "Ross" only compressor but Mr. Analogman suggested the dual version with the Orange Squeezer. I'm VERY glad that I did! It was around $50 more but that makes up for the guilt of spending $265 for a floor pedal! I've been through Dynacomps, and Boss compressors and tried the Aphex "Punch Factory" but was never satisfied with any of those. When you turn this unit on, you automatically think and hear QUALITY!

Sound Quality : 10
I play an Ibanez Jem thru a Fender Vibro Champ, Fender Custom Shop 57 Twin, or Mesa Bogie Dual Rectifier. I thought i hated compressors before i bought this one. Every one i tried was basically a little box that did NOTHING. The sound quality of this pedal is the absolute best. The Ross side is my favorite. I never used to play the guitar clean much at all until i bought this pedal. It makes playing clean so fun. You will want to leave it on all the time. Mike actually told me that in an email and i didn't beleive him because the only pedal i like that much is my original ts808. He was right though, and thats why there is such a huge waiting list for this pedal.

Reliability : 10
One look inside, and the sheer weight of the steel case will let you know its reliable. I have gigged without a backup of this pedal and will continue to do so.

Mike is a one of a kind person to deal with. He replies to your emails fast and he is very friendly. Once my CLONE Chorus that i bought from him over 2 years ago was having problems and i emailed him and he sent me instructions on how to fix it the very next day and i did and well... What more can you want?

Overall Rating : 10
I got on the waiting list for this pedal, not knowing what to expect. I have most of analogmans pedals so i figured it would be nice to have and use once in a while. I was so wrong on that! This pedal has become the single most important effect i use for my clean tone.

I have the large Bi-Comp. 4 knobs. Attack, Sustain & Volume for the "ROSS" side & a Volume knob for the "JUICER" side. Very easy to get a great Ross sound. There are also Bias Trim Pots for each effect on the inside of the pedal. The factory settings are fine and didn't needed adjusting to my ears. The manual keeps it real simple for those who have never owned a compressor before.

My set-up is: Schecter C-1+ > Whammy II > Crybaby Wah > Analog.Man TS9/808 Silver > Analog.Man TS9/808 Silver > Bi-Comp > Boomerang > '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb RI. The Bi-Comp sounds great after the TS9's. Great sustain! I can hold a note forever. True Bypass when turned off!! The unit does add some noise when on. The Juicer side more so than the Ross side. I'm okay with this. My only problem is when I turn on the Ross side I get a nasty POP when I hit the switch. I don't know if this is with all the Bi-Comp's or I need to ask Analog Mike about this. Because of this I can't give it a 10. I usually leave the comprossor on all the time though. With my set-up I can get a very accurate Trey tone. I also started using the Juicer side more than I thought I would. Before I got the Bi-Comp I used a Boss CS-3 which was a great & reliable pedal. The Bi-Comp isn't for beginners.

Reliability : 10
This pedal has some weight to it. It is built solid. I think as long as you don't jump up & down on the switches, you'll get years of trouble free use out of it. I'd use this pedal every night without a backup. It's like a brick.

Customer Support : 10
I've emailed Mike a number of times & usually he gets back to me that same night. Email him about products, technical questions, or just to say what's up...he's a great guy! He knows his stuff. He's very caring about his customers.

I've been playing mostly "jamband" improv kind of music for the last few years. I've been playing guitar for over 15 years. Once I started playing with a compressor I was hooked. I haven't tried all of the compressors on the market, but the Bi-Comp is my number one piece of equipment at the moment. I would definitely buy another if it got stolen.

Amazingly quiet-especially for a compressor-attack is internally adjustable-combination pedal- Ross compressor & Orange Squeezer-very versatile tone, lots of CLEAN sustain

Analog Mike knows his stuff-high quality wiring inside- I don't foresee any problems happening because the guts are assembled from high quality parts & not cobbled up-actually better & tougher looking than factory stuff

Rock, blues, jazz Definitely a match. Been playing for nearly 40 years Les Paul thru tweed Bassman is other rig-played straight,no effects, just cranked amp
would have to get another- actually on the wait list for the large version with the attack pot on the outside of the case-even more versatile-it definitely performs as it should-far superior to my ancient MXR DynaComp-this sucker sings!

These pedal's are very easy to use, you may want to spend sometime messing with you're guitar's & amp's of choice to really get a feel for what the pedal is capable of doing.

The Manual is laid out in a very simple formate and the Analogman website, help's even more. I failed to mention, Mike is great and a wonderfull guy to deal with.

Sound Quality : 10
Im giving this pedal a 10. The reason being I do allot of session work and do the cover band thing on friday and saturday nights. I need gear that will work for me in all situation's. If im doing Jazz,Rock or Country. The Bi Comp will fit nicely in all of the above.

I have one primary setup I use these days. Bogner 101B Ectasy head Bogner 2x12. Guitars Fender 51 Nocaster,1960 Strat Relic's and
a Gibson historic Les Paul gold top with Fralin PAF's. My main Effect's rig is " Clyde wah > Deja Vibe II > Sun Face NKT275, into a
GCX Patchbay housed in a rack. Chicago iron works Octavia > Bi-Comp >
Beano Boost > Full Drive II > Clone Chorus > Paradox Flanger and Tc Electronic's G Major for reverb,Delay and Eq function's and boosting the single coil levels.

Sound's... This is a fun one, I like to run both side's of the pedal and the Bogner allow's me to have three very differn't sound's at any given time. I manly use this pedal with the strat or tele. I can nail the Steely Dan "My old Skool" flavor with my tele or go to a crystal clean compression with delay & reverb for that clean U2/ Pink floyd type of sound. I tend to use the compression for more sustain type of lead sounds in my dirty channel wiith my les Paul or with any Ebow type of work.

Reliability : 10
Mike's pedal's are built like a tank. There reliable and there is no worry about going out to a gig without a back up.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is a pleasure to deal with and he make's great products. he will answer all you're question's and let you know what he think's. Analogman is a great company and I stand 100% behind all of his gear.

Overall Rating : 10
These pedal's are great and there is allot of cool thing's to be had "Tonely" speaking with spending time with you're gear and really finding out how it work's and what you can get out of them.

The knobs are pretty straightforward:

Attack, Sustain and Volume on the Ross side
Volume on the OS (Orange Squeeze) side

The two stomp switches are far enough apart that I don't accidentally click both at the same time, but close enough so that the box doesn't leave a large footprint.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's all I need to get killer tone with this:

Telecaster STD > Bi-CompROSSor > Vox AC30 (reissue)

Sure, the Vox tone is great to start with, but the Bi-Comp really adds to the inherent richness and fills things out more completely. I don't really add it to distortion, so I'm not noticing much hiss at all with this unit. Very quiet and well-behaved. I used the OS side almost exclusively; I find it to be a bit brighter, which is right up my alley. However, the Ross side is just a different flavor of heaven.

Reliability : No Opinion
The construction is very solid, though I haven't gigged enough with it to formulate an opinion. I expect this will rate 9 or 10.

Customer Support : 10
Everyone knows Mike is helpful and friendly. He goes out of his way, offers suggestions, works with you...can't say enough great things about this guy. Where does he find enough hours in a day to get all this done and still treat every customer he talks to with so much personal attention?

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for 18 years or so. Broadly speaking, the kind of music I play falls under the category of "rock." For me, that covers everything from Chuck Berry and the Beatles to Stone Temple Pilots.

Like I wrote above, this unit is a perfect expansion of the Vox tone. I don't own a backup, but if it were lost or stolen I'd get a replacement immediately.

I really trust Analog Mike's craftsmanship and sense of tone, so I knew I'd be heading in this direction when I started shopping around. Check out the sound files on his site for some great examples.

My pups are all Fralins, all in various guitars, Strats, Les Pauls, and Teles - with the exception of a pair of TVjones Classic Filtertron pups in a swamp ash Tele/Frankenstein. All my amps are tube, '59 tweed Super, '59 tweed Bassman, '59 Silvertone Medalist, tweed Deluxe, and a newer BJr which has been worked over a bit. My speakers are mixed, EV12Ls, original Jensen 10s/12s, P or N,(some with stock voice coils, some reconed by Weber or Kjellberg), some reconed CTS 10s, (ditto), and a Weber 'special' 12 that is a remarkable speaker, basically a Chicago Dog paper voice coil in a Celestion 100 watt basket.

Sufficed to say that I have too much stuff, but also that I am a tone whore - and you maybe need to know this up front.:

Okay, it is a plug and play pedal, simple to figure out if you are even mildly into compressors. Turn it on, play gtr basically.

Sound Quality : 10
See above for gear.:

The pedal is very recordable, my other money pit, and certainly a very quiet piece of gear. I am actually honored to have such a fine piece of gear to call my own, to run from my gtr into my amp and cut a truly remarkable track. ??? When you have the piece in hand, and you play it, it becomes clear that THIS is a MUST HAVE PEDAL if you wish to sound like any of the 'big boys' on record or CD. "Damn", you will whisper as the sound literally jumps out of the speaker, "this is what I have been missing!" And, no, I am not exaggerating...

Reliability : 10
Mike is a Professional, and note the capital 'P' - I do not expect anything less than the best bulletproof build a man can devise. And keep in mind, I am small potatoes compared to some of the customers that he sells and services, yet I get to buy the SAME gear, gear that is very well thought of in the very best of musical circles. Names? Okay, Sonny Landreth 'suggested' I purchase one of Mike's compressors when I told him I was not satisfied with what I had tried - he apparently has every model compressor Mike has made, including the BICOMPROSSOR.

Customer Support : 10
Analogman.com/Mike has been very quick to answer a question. He has even hooked me up in the past with techs that repair some unique pedals that I run into, a Roland Funny Cat, for example. If my precious BICOMPROSSOR ever does go south, I have absolutely no worries about Mike being there for me. He is a rock who loves his work.

Overall Rating : 10
I love all kinds of music, play more SRV/Albert/T-Bone kind of stuff. I have played a long time, am old enough to know better, and this is a truly remarkable piece of gear. Like one of the reviewers before me urged, I will now repeat: BUY THIS PEDAL!!! It does wonderful things to an electric guitar, live or recorded. To have both compressors in one box is like have very tasty gravy on my very tasty gravy - you decide which tunes you will use either one for, I can't tell you. No, I will only add that you may think you have found some very tasty gravy elsewhere, but you have not found the real very tasty gravy until you own a compressor by Analogman/Mike. Okay? BUY THIS PEDAL!!!

Ok, this is THE compressor!

OS side: great for clean sounds. I've checked with a Strat and a Shergold Meteor > BICOMPROSSOR > TC Electronics Chorus > Mesa Boogie Preamp > Roland Bolt (only final section). AMAZING! Life and dynamics!

COMPROSSOR side: heavier compression, great for leads. Checked with a Custom 3 PUs Les Paul and an Ibanez Artist > TS808 and Jacques Tubeblower > Mesa Pre > Roland Bolt: UNBELIEVABLE! Sustain forever!

A little bit of noise, but it's an analog compressor!

10/10 definitively!!!

Very easy to handle, it comes with a good Manual.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a outstanding Device. No other Compressor can be compared with the Sound of the BiComp. There are two in one - a Comprossor and a Orange Squeezer (that I like most). I could not believe, how good this thing sounds. Once you plugged in your Guitar, you can't stop playing. It sounds very, very natural and I cannot image playing without it anymore. But there's one thing you have to be careful with: If you use a Power Supply, be sure to take a good DC Adapter, otherwise the Orange Squeezer Part may produce some noise. My Equipment is: Fender Stratocasters, Telecaster -> Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor (Effect Send/Return) -> BiComp -> Electro Harmonix Bad Stone -> Zoom 5000 Drive -> Korg AX100G -> Yamaha DG100-212 Virtual Amp (sounds like a real Tube-Amp!).
The Bicomp brings Life to my Sound, specially for Clean and Crunch it's amazing!!! If you like the Sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd or Mark Knopfler for example, the Orange Squeezer is just the right Thing. It gives some grit to the Sound that grooves like Hell! For funky notes I use the Comprossor Part. Just have a Look at Mike's great Homepage, there you can download a lot of Soundfiles.

Reliability : 10
Solid as the Everest! No need for a Backup.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is very kind and he replies to Mails fast as lightning.
After I ordered the Pedal it took just 3 Days (listen German Salesman)!!! shipping this Baby to Europe - I thought I was dreaming. Man, it can't be faster!

Overall Rating : 10
I'm playing Guitar since 1968 now and have seen a lot of Compressors, but the BiComp is absolutely unique! I wish I'd come across this thing much earlier - it's a Dream. Compressors like the MXR, Marshall, Boss, Ibanez, Digitech a.s.o. got no chance against the BiComp. Mike is using rare and special selected Transistors, Chips and Diodes and that you really can hear! I am absolutely satisfied. If lost or stolen, I would cut the Balls of the Guy who stole it and let him sing in a Church. I would buy another one in a Heartbeat. The BiComp is worth every single Cent, it's a must have!!! So buy it immedeately - I swear, you'll love it!

Two knobs for Ross, and two knobs for Orange Squeeze, and one stomp switch on each side. Very easy to use. The Ross side, or Attack side has an attack knob, and a volume knob, and the Squeeze side has an Sustain knob, and a volume knob. The Attack is the most percussive and pronounced I have yet heard. It's like getting a whole new effect to use and play with. The Sustain is long and beautiful. The only noise comes from the guitar, not the pedal. It has True Bypass so there is no loss of sound quality when using it. The instruction sheet that came with it is very understandable and explanatory, and gives a few hints on normal settings. I beleive this is the most recent and upgraded version of this pedal.

Sound Quality : 10
I have a G&L ASAT Classic (Telecaster Copy, but more Fender than Fender), and a Ibanez EX350. My amp is an early 70s vintage Fender Twin Reverb. I have many other botique pedals in my collection, all of good quality and sound, ie. Fulltone, Mutron, and Menatone. I quit using my old BOSS CS3 because this BiComprossor just cuts it to shreds. NO MORE BOSS PEDALS FOR ME!
I have my own sound, not someone elses!

Reliability : No Opinion
This is the only pedal I have from AnalogMan,(Mike). It looks and feels like it will last a long time. But only time will tell. I don't really gig much, so it won't be getting banged around alot. As far as I can tell after only a week of using it, it is dependable, but at this time I am reserving my opinion on its long term dependability.

Customer Support : 10
I have emailed Mike with questions on 5 or 6 different occaisions and he has always been prompt in his replys back to me. I was on his waiting list for about 3 or 4 months when he emailed me to tell me that I could order the pedal. But it was several months before I able to proceed with the order, but as soon as I did order, there was no delay. I have not had any upgrades, nor have I had it repaired. I have a good feeling that Mike is a very reputable man, and is true to his word.

The first time I used it I was frankly dissappointed. Four months later this and the TS9 are the effects I would take to the deserted island. Play through a clean amp and you'll have those "geile" country, funk and blues sounds.Use it with a Overdrive and your Stratwill sing. Best compressor I know, and I know a few! The Orange Squeezer side is dead quiet. The Ross side gets noisy when you turn the sustain up, which is par for the course on any compressor. Since I'm playing with single-coil pickups, all the noise is from the guitar, not the effect.

Like the CloneChorus I purchased from AnalogMan before, this unit is well built. You could hammer nails with it, though I suggest you don't.

I paid extra for the attack knob mounted on the face of the unit for the Ross side. This is a useful option if you want more choices for your sound. It lets you go from a squashed, lap-steel like sound to a punchy, dynamic sound. I found myself using the Orange Squeezer side a lot more than I thought I would. For clean and rhythm playing it is perfect. You can find cheaper comp/sus pedals out there, but if you want something that you will be happy with and will last then this pedal is the way to go.

This thing is awesome!!! I have over 350 pedals and this is one that makes it to my "A" list!! Easy to use as all hell. 2 Compressors, 2 switches. Seperate on or bypass switches and Individual Level knobs, with a master slaming knob. Can't get much easier. I just wish it had a "master" on-bypass for both compressors. If you want bot on from having them both off you need to stomp on 2 different switches!! Can't get them both at the same time without a third leg!!! Albiet, I like them each on there own better then together, but I thing you should have that one more switch... other then that it is perfect!! That is a very weak complaint, but it is its only real flaw!!! Not too shabby....

I play a variety of styles as well as work as a session player. The Bi-Comprossor transcends style and sounds good on everything. I've been playing a long time (over 30 years) and I know that most compressors have issues that have kept me from making one a solid part of my sound. I was even using, at one point, a JoeMeek VC1Q rack mount studio preamp just to get a great compressor for my guitar. The Bi-Comprossor makes this unnecessary... as well as offering me the extra versatility of having the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer side for that certain special something for those spanky lead lines.
The price you pay for excellence is never money ill-spent. The money you pay for true quality is forgotten but the money you save for mediocrity will not be celebrated. This pedal is worth every penny.

The Ross side sets up for nice clean to clipping sounds.Very spanky. Except if your really slapping chords hard. But thats what the sus knob is there for. Country guys\gals with Teles take note. If you're here, you know what it is: One side CompROSSor, One side Orange squeezer. The Ross side has a sustain and a volume where the OS side has just a volume. The attack can be adjusted via trimpot inside the pedal. The manual explains all internal adjustments clearly.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm playing an Epiphone Dot, a Mexi-Strat w/Bill Lawrence pups, and a Tokai Goldstar Sounds '57 Strat. The Dot is either getting new pups or is on its way out if I find an AS200 that meets my needs. My chain is: Guitar>ZVex SHO>Vox 847RI>SD1(808mod by Analogman)>BiComp>AD9>Reverend Hellhound 40/60 Combo.
It took me a few days to settle on where the BiComp should go, but I copied the Trey model and placed it after the SD-1. I'm looking for the sound of the tubes just breaking up but with a nice sustain. Placing the bicomp after the SD1 one allows me to better control the amount of effect with my guitar volume knob. This thing sustains for years without even kicking in the overdrive. And once I put that on, my amp growls at me. Its everything I had hoped it would be.

The Ross side does exactly what I had hoped for. If you get crazy with the sustain, the pedal is going to get a little noisy. I really like the OS side, and am glad I shelled out the extra bucks for the BiComp instead of the CompROSSor. Think Reeling in the Years or Brian May.
I've owned a Dynacomp, Nanocomp, Marshall ED-1, and tried the Maxon, CS9, and the Boss compressor. Obviously, it blows them all away. I'd really love to try the Keeley model and place them side by side, but my compressor search is over.

I've been playing for over 15 years in bar bands, bedrooms, and basements all across this great land. Currently, I'm into roots rock/alt-country, but play and dig jammy music, jazz, experimental, and space rock. This really does what I want for my current situation and when I'm in my practice space doing guitar karaoke, as my lady calls it, to Jerry, Trey, and Dicky, the compressor shines.
I hate to say that I rely upon any effect, but I don't think at this point I could gig without this or the SHO. Everything else is replaceable. I would hope someone would not be stupid enough to try and steal my gear, but if it were stolen, I'd probably put my name back on the list and wait another 6 months. Again, I'd love to compare this thing to the Keeley, but I think they are kind of the same animal.
The wait is really long. Its long enough where you forget your name is on the list. But its worth it. And your name stays at the top of the list if you don't immediately have the scratch to pay for it. You can live without this pedal when you've never experienced it. Once you have it, you'll wonder where your head was.

Although it sounded good right out of the box the analogman bi-comprossor needs to be tweaked for humbuckers by opening the unit and adjusting the internal trim pots.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a variety of guitars, mostly Gibsons & fenders. Noise increases as you turn up the compressor volume knobs but I found it to be completely manageable. I use Egnater, Fender and Victoria amps

Reliability : 10
Having owned several Analogman pedals for some time with no problems under severe touring, I'm confident that the Bi-comprossor will hold up as well as the others. I use all of his pedals w/ out back up.

Mike Piera (analogman) is one of the most knowledgeable people I've ever spoken with concerning guitar tone & how to get it. His turn around time for repairs or mods is usually 3 to 5 days.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been a professional guitarist since the mid-60's. I have a large collection of new and vintage guitars and amps.(All working players, no museum pieces.) If any of my analogman pedals were lost or stolen I would order new ones from him immediately. In nearly 4 decades as a musician I've pretty much owned one of everything and Mike's pedals are some of the biggest wrenches in my toolbox.

Very easy to use! This is first compressor that I've ever used and I got great sounds right away. It comes with clear and simple instructions on how to adjust the internal bias controls. I've been using it with a Strat with Texas Specials and a Music Man Van Halen with humbuckers and the factory presets work great for me with either guitar, but it looks easy to make adjustments if needed.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's my basic setup: Fender USA Strat or Music Man EVH guitar going through these effects in this order, Budda or Bad Horsie Wah, AnalogMan Bi-Comprossor, Ibanez TS-9 and SD-9 (both with AnalogMan 808 mods) MXR Phase 90, 70's MXR Flanger, and AnalogMan Stereo Clone Chorus. I run all delay effects (Boss DD-3 and RV-3) through the effects loop of my Marshall JCM 2000 100w head. I love the sounds I'm getting using this pedal! I'm always searching for better sounds and I was pretty proud of my tone before but since I've added this pedal to my rig I don't know how I ever lived without it. I want my solos to "sing." When I play the Bi-Comp through my lead channel (with a touch of TS-9) I get sustain for days. This makes everything sound so smooth. I don't know if any of these guys use this pedal but I could see players like Eric Johnson, Santana, Satriani and Vai really digging this pedal. I like it loud, but I can even get that smooth glorious sustain at lower volumes.

Reliability : 10
Looks like it's built really well. Tough die-cast housing. Yeah, I'd gig it without a back-up. You pay for it but Analog Mike uses the best parts available. Some of the parts are actually NOS parts that are not even made anymore. No corners are cut here!

Customer Support : 10
If I could give a higher rating than 10 here I would. I've never called Mike but I've emailed him many times over the last year and he has always answered my questions quickly and graciously. I'm sure he get's tons of questions every day. Most of which could probably be answered by reading the great info at his site. Sure Analog Mike is a business man but it has been my exprience that he truly wants to help guitar players achive that perfect tone. He doesn't try to sell you a bunch of crap you don't need. He has even helped me find some stuff that he doesn't sell. The only problem I have is that there's a picture at the AnalogMan website of Mike hand delivering effects to Kenny Wayne Shepherd and I had to PAY shipping! What's up with that??? (Just kidding Mike!)

Overall Rating : 10
Yeah, if it were stolen or lost I'd get another one. It might take a awhile though. I think I waited 5 or 6 months for this one. So if you are thinking about getting one and you don't have the cash, go ahead and email Mike and get on his waiting list. You'll have time to save up the dough! If you are a somewhat accomplished player with an ear for good tone you will most certainly love this pedal. I can't decide if I prefer the Ross side or the Juicer side. I like 'em both. I'll use one side for a while then I'll switch. It's ALL good! Ok...I'm gonna look like I'm sucking up to AnalogMan giving all 10's, but I really can't say anything bad about this pedal. Get one!

Incredibly easy to use. Three knobs, two for the ROSS side and one for the Juicer side. I haven't had to adjust the internal trim pots to get a great sound out of any of my guitars.

Sound Quality : 10
Here's my setup, Guitars: American Standard Strat, 1978 Ibanez Lawsuit Strat, Gibson SG and Gibson 335. Pedal board: Teese RMC1 Wah, Captain Coconut 2, Fulltone Distortion Pro, Fulltone Fulldrive 2, Analog Man TS-808, Zvex SHO, Analog Man Stereo Clone Chorus, BOSS OC-2 Octave, Diaz Texas Tremodillo and Analog Man Bi-CompROSSor. I play these through a Fender Blues Deluxe moddified by Analog Brothers Amplification.
I thought my Strats sounded good before I got the Bi-Comprossor. Man was I wrong! I can't believe how much bigger they sound now. People have actually commented on it. Listen to the intro to Under The Bridge from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. My Strat through the Ross side nails it perfectly. It made my other pedals come alive too. The Univibe in the Captain Coconut, the BOSS Octave and the Clone Chorus sound incredible with this pedal. I never thought it was possible to make the Vibe and the Clone sound any better than they did. I was floored when I stepped on the Vibe. The Juicer is absolutely awesome too. I'm glad I waited for the Bi-Comprossor, it was worth it to get the Juicer.

Reliability : 10
It's hand built by Analog Mike Pierra, you don't get more reliable than that.

Customer Support : 10
I ordered it late on a Friday night (after being on the waiting list for 5 months) and it came in the mail MONDAY!!! Nobody ships faster than Mike. He answers email the same day you send it. I met him at the Valley Forge guitar show last year. Unfortunately, I didn't have any money to buy anything from him that day (just got married) but he spent time and talked with me and let me check out his pedals even though I told him I wasn't ready to buy. Try that with a salesman from Guitar Center.

Overall Rating : 10
I play Classic Rock, Blues, a little Jazz and even some Classical. I've been playing for 23 years and I can tell you that I don't remember the last time I was this impressed with a pedal, except maybe when I got my Clone Chorus. Mike's a great guy who takes great pride in his work and stands behind his products. If this was lost or stolen I would definitely buy another one.

Easy to adjust on the fly and also tweakable inside - that's a nice combination. The Ross side has Sustain and Volume Knobs on top which do what they are labelled to do in a predictable manner. Inside you can tewak a trim-pot to get more or less attack - particularly useful when you play humbuckers. Once you balace it for your guitars you can leave it set. The Juicer side is just one volume knob on top and a trim-pt inside for the amount of swell you here - see sound...

Sound Quality : 10
Set-up: Relic Nocaster, 57 Historic Goildtop with Antiquities, Duesenberg Starplayer 2 into Bad Cat, Orange, Framus Clas A amps. I have a DynaComp Reissue to compare i to and you definitely notice the more stable sound out of the Ross side - no sea-sickness here. Can go from unobtrusive to really way out sustain. the Juicer side gives a bit of grit to the sound and has a noticeable swell to the sound after you hit a string, which makes it a different but very useable flavour. Nice when used on a clean amp, but also compatible with an OD Pedal or crunchy amp for a surprisingly dynamic feel for a comprssor. On both sides the noise is low and never bothers me. Two greta flvors of compression.

Reliability : 10
Like his other stuff, this seems really well built. Only had it a couple of months - will ppst again if it craps out, of course. Build quality AAA

Customer Support : 10
A pleasure to deal with, answers e-mail promptly, and ordering from him from Europe (I live in Germany)is easy to do. (Just remember you'll pay some customs duty for importing it.) "One day, all effects gurus will be made this way" ... or something like that.

I'd stopped using my dynacomp cos the cons outweighed the pros. Now i'm back using compression with a pedal i'm happy to put on my tone-picky all true-bypass and george-l's type of pedalboard. Plus the pedal looks really cool, comes hand-numbered in a cool little bag and inspires me to find different sounds. Get one!

Very easy to use. Sustain and level for the Ross side and level only for the juicer side.

Sound Quality : 9
This pedal sounds great, particularly with strat and tele style guitars. The Ross comp is very transparent, much more so than any others I've tried(including Boss CS-2, Ibanez CP-835, Guyatone ST-2). At low compression settings is adds a nice presence to your sound without sqashing it. This is the only comp (except for the Keeley comp) I've used at high compression settings that does not make you sound like someone threw a blanket over your amp (very nice). The pedal is quiet until you turn the sustain knob up past 3:00. Even with the noise when the sustain is cranked, it sounds good. The bonus for this pedal is that you also get a clone of the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer (juicer). This comp is immediately recognizable and is great for lead sounds using a strat or tele. The juicer is noisier than the Ross side, but has a very addicting sound.

My setup includes Vox wah>Bi-comprossor>Keely-modded TS9DX>Vintage Rat>Fulltone Fatboost>Mesa Studio 22+. I play various guitars through this setup including a Robin Wrangler(Tele), Robin Medley (Custom Strat), Robin Avalon (Les Paul). The comp works fine with the Les Paul-style guitar, but is really great with the single-coil guitars.

Reliability : No Opinion
Built solidly. I doubt that I would ever need a backup. I've only had it a couple of weeks, so who knows?

Customer Support : 10
Mike is a great guy. He responds to email quickly and answers any questions you may have.

I play classic rock, worship music and some country. This pedal works for all of these styles. I've been playing on and off for about thirty years. If this was lost or stolen, I would try to get another one ASAP. The only other comp I've tried that is this good is the Keeley. The inclusion of the juicer in the bi-comp makes this pedal a great deal.

Very straightforward design. One Volume knob for the Orange Squeezer side, a Sustain and Volume control for the Ross side. Two small, internal trim pots for the true tweakers, and an informative manual to boot. It was very easy to dial in the sounds I was looking for.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup - Charvel custom strat clone with EMG SAs at neck and middle, EMG 85 at bridge; Dunlop 535Q wah; Bi-comprossor; Whammy II; Morley optical volume pedal; Boomerang Plus; into a Behringer Blue Devil amp.

This pedal gives you two extremely useful compression options. The Ross side gives almost completely transparent compression, with slight noise only appearing when using extreme Sustain levels. The Orange Squeezer adds a small of noise or 'grit' to the signal, but this is comparable to the original. The Orange Squeezer was known to give the sound a slightly overdriven quality, which this unit recreates.

Both sides are fantastic at reacting to changes in playing volume. I can switch from the single coils to the humbucker without worrying about the volume level changing radically. At the same time, the guitar's tone doesn't sound overly muffled or pinched. It also gives the Whammy II a nice, smooth signal which greatly improves its tracking.

True bypass switches mean no discernable loss of tone while in the signal path. Fantastic sound quality for a stompbox.

Reliability : 9
The pedal is extremely sturdy, with snappy switches and nicely over-engineered wiring. Backups required only in extreme circumstances (i.e. world tours, all-weather gigs, etc.)

Customer Support : 10
I exchanged several emails with Mike and was surprised at his accomodating and friendly attitude, even during the frantic pre-xmas season. I will absolutely buy from him again.

Overall Rating : 9
A premium price, but well worth for anyone looking for the clean, smooth sustain that great compressors can bring. Having these two legendary effects in one box is a unique treat, and Analogman has really pulled it off magnificently.

This thing is a piece of cake. The knobs (3 of em') do exactly what they say - Ross sustain, Ross volume and Orange Squeezer volume. If you want more adjustment, there are three trim pots on the inside, only one of which you should mess with (attack time for the ross, which I turned all the way up - so there's less attack). As far as being easy to use, it'll take you a half hour or so to get the volume levels to correspond to your liking, depending on whether you're using a tube preamp/amp. On the real - you couldn't even use an original Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer with a strat - so it works for me!

Sound Quality : 10
Strat Plus w/EMG SA active single coils->overdrive->MuTron Octave Divider (great distortion)->BiComprossor->Digitech WhammyII->Boss DD5 Delay->Mesa Studio Preamp/GT Trio Preamp->Amplifier->Cabinet. This arrangement changes frequently as I have a few effect loop options. But the sound of the compressor is unmistakable. The ross is good at killing the attack and sustaining for days with a real singing quality. The squeezer is nice and gritty. Put them together, and they'll give your tube preamp's clean channel a workout. It's like getting an extra gain channel thrown in for free. Switch to a dirty channel, and you might want to back it off. Even with no overdrive. No B.S...

Reliability : 10
Pedal looks very well built in & out - no complaints; and Mike is a really good guy to do business with. Excellent correspondence.

Two really cool pedals in one - and at less than the price of either one of the originals used. I was apprehensive at first about spending $250 on a compression pedal unplayed & sight unseen, but I've got to hand it to Analog Man. He nailed them both. I've been playing for 10 years, mostly hippie rock/jazz, with a bit of everything else thrown in for good measure. I've been searching for the right compression pedal for at least the last three years. It took almost four months to get it, but hey - good things come to those who wait.

well, this is tough to answer, i guess it depends on what you are using it in conjunction with. It's two compressors in one box, and only three knobs between them. You plug it in, it does what it does. I ordered it with an effects loop between the two circuits, so ican do some funny stuff with it. you're gonna have to go through the settings on your other effects to get everything to sit right, but this unit is really forgiving. So i guess i'd say yeah, it's really easy to use.

Strat w/ humbuckers->RMC3 wah->fulltone DV2->fulltone fulldrive 2->bi-comprossor (ross side)->boss DD5 delay->Bi-comprossor (squeezer)->mesa-boogie blue angel head.... (very proud of this chain, took a lot of work and saving to achieve)
Compressors reduce your dynamic range, which is going to make your rig noisy as heck, but you have to learn to tweak it right to minimize and learn to kill your distortion pedal when the song ends. the ross and the orange squeezer were not sought after because they were good compressors. Rather they were hunted because people liked them for the way they did their job badly in their own particular way. Mike's clones are very true to the original... perhaps too true. i don't know what a ross or an O.S. sounded like when they were brand new, with lower quality parts.

Reliability : 9
god i sure hope so. too $$$$ to have a back-up. it looks like he built it pretty solidly. i'm not a very large fan of the plastic that the jacks are made of, but they do look nice. hopefully they will surprise me and last a while. of course, i will be babying it, so hopefully i won't ever find out.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is a no BS, easy to work with chap. This pedal i ordered was two months in the discussion phase. he was great about answering all my questions and listening to my ideas about customizing my pedal. I didn't keep track of his timeliness with replies, because i don't expect to be catered to like that, but i never got the "hey, i haven't heard from him in a while..." jitters.
i have all the confidence that if i have a problem with his pedal he will do all that can be done. What more can you ask?

Overall Rating : 10
i'm playing mostly classic rock/hippie funk. people looking for the phish thing, or the steely dan thing, or the pink floyd thing should get one of his other compressors. i wanted both! thanks to mike, i don't have to buy both. i would most certainly be upset if it was stolen or lost, and yeah i'd try to replace it. It's really fricken' expensive, but you'd pay almost twice what i paid to just get ONE of the pedals it copies. I love the thing, within minutes it had burrowed deeply into my rig. completely tied all of my other effects together more solidly and made them play nicer with each other. It also brought out really interesting tones by itself. I really am very pleased with it, sonically. I do really wish it had feet, though. the finish is too pretty to warrant slapping some gross velcro on the back of it to keep it from sliding around. But, hey, whatever, right? Mike, i'm giving you a ten. you earned it. thanks so much. My apologies to Harmony-Central, it is hard to be critical when i can't find anything bad to say about it.

This compressor actually has 2 compressor in it. 1 is the ross, 2 is the orange sqzr "JUICER". They can be used independently or together.
The Ross has a sustain level and volume level. The Orange has a volume level.

A breeze even for the simple minded

Absolutley incredable and fab. I have to say the Analog Man pedels I have purchased are the best things I ever bought in stomp boxes.

I did have the Blackbox oxygen.. which is excellent.. then got this. Personally This slays the Oxygen. The ross is perfect. and the orange gives such a squishy warbely sound.. that it sound like hot tubes baking. I almost never turn the orange off... Unless I want a trational clean tone.

I cannot say enough about this pedel. it has helped my tone (which was great to start) more than anything I have ever bought!

sounds fantastic. best sounding compressor i've ever used. was using an ibanez cp-835 before and a cp-9 before that. this pedal blows them away. no volume swells or wobbles like with other pedals. very even sounding compression. i haven't used one of the ross pedals but i'm not even going to bother trying to get one now. this pedal is exactly what i wanted. the juicer is a bonus. i like the sound on the ross side better for compression but use them both and it is like using an overdrive/compressor. it sounds really good.
