Like most Boss pedals, this is really easy to dial in. Three controls, rate, wave, and depth. Rate adjusts the speed, wave adjusts the manipulation of volume over time, and depth adjusts the intensity of the effect.
This modification also adds an internal trimpot to adjust volume. It comes set at unity gain, so I didn't adjust it.

FINALLY! I've been looking for that elusive Fender tremolo (well, "vibrato"...) sound for a long time. I've tried tons of tremolo pedals, and prior to this I was using the Voodoo Lab which was nice. However, it was really hard to dial in the sound you're looking after. I was actually fond of the stock TR-2, but thought it lost a little tone and volume when on.
This modification really sounds incredible. There is no loss in volume, and the tone is just wonderful. The easiest way to describe it is to think of the tremolo in an older Fender amp...which in my opinion is the benchmark for tremolo.
Noise seems to plague tremolo circuits, and this one is one of the quietest I've tried. There is no increase in the noise floor like in other tremolo mods, and there is no "tick, tick, tick".
The TR-2 Super really helps me get the type of Bill Frisell and Nels Cline type of tones I like so much. With this pedal, I can finally stop searching for the tremolo tone I've had in my head for a long time.

Its a Boss pedal. Should be dependable.
The mod itself is flawless. I looked inside to see what all was done, and was impressed with both the craftsmanship and quality of components used.
No hesitations using this pedal w/o a backup.

I can't say enough good things about Analog Man. They're incredibly helpful, and do a wonderful job of helping you find what you're looking for.
Analog Mike does a great job of responding to emails and answering all questions, even if they're dumb like mine.

I play a lot of different styles of music. I've been playing for 11-12 years (I think...) and have been giving lessons for a year.
I have a Dr. Z Prescription ES and a VHT Deliverance D60H. The Dr. Z goes into an Avatar openback w/ Weber Alnico Silver Bell and Blue Dog. The VHT goes into a matching VHT D412.
Pedal-wise, right now my boards have an RMC Picture Wah, FoxRox Captain Coconut 2 w/ NKT-275 fuzz card, Tonebone Switchbone, VHT Valvulator, Analog Man Bi-Comp, Analog Man King of Tone v4, Ibanez TS-808 w/ Analog Man True Vintage Mod, MXR Phase 90 script, Ross Flanger, Analog Man Bi-Chorus, Boss TR-2 w/ Analog Man Super Mod, T-Rex Replica, and EH Holy Grail.
Like I said, I've been searching for a good tremolo pedal for a while, and I finally found what I've been after with the TR-2 Super. Very natural, warm, and luscious tremolo sounds. I couldn't be happier.
