2 knobs and an internal bias trim pot (sun dial on his Sun Faces). Pretty basic stuff.

I'm running a Fender 60's Road Worn Strat w/ Tex Specials in it > Area 51 Wah (w/ buffer) > Analogman modded Fuzz Face > Full Drive 2 > Mini Deja Vibe 2 > MXR Carbon Copy Delay > EHX Holy Grail reverb > 50w Marshall Jubilee (2553) using Eminence Governors ( Vintage 30 clones ). It plays very nice with my other pedals which I love, I previously had a Germanium London Fuzz and it was just a very overly bright sounding fuzz, it was too bright with my wah, THIS is what you're are looking for if you want that "Are You Experienced" tone. It is just a warmer more musical fuzz, there is PLENTY of fuzz on tap and I imagine this through any tube amp with a solid guitar will get you where you want to be. I have played old Foxx fuzzes, Fuzzrites, Big Muff's, and most recently a Germ London Fuzz, this IS the way to go if you like me have a Dunlop Fuzz Face lying around and want something truly authentic to the real Fuzz Faces of the late 60's. This thing nails it, thick rich and full, I couldn't be any happier with it! I had the BC 108 version (Hendrix reissue) and Mike replaced all the components inside (caps, resistors), not just the Transistors.

I would so gig without it, this is not some chop shop mod, this is now a neatly modded pedal, the soldering job is top notch and I can't see how this thing will ever fail unless it is submerged in water.

Mike is great, I emailed him telling him I was just toying with the idea of sending it to him, he was quick to respond to me and I have never waited longer than a day to hear back from him. Anyone ever get an email back from Mike Fuller out there? Mike is awesome and because of his kindness he has won me over and I want to look into his other products now.

I'm in a Classic Rock cover band, we play some Hendrix and a lot of Cream stuff, this is right at home with what I do. This can even get a little bluesy when you roll back on the guitars volume, this pedal is so good it could just be left on and roll up on the volume when you need it, much like Claptons 25dB Mid Boost feature. I just leave it on now and the setting on the pedal are Volume 3 o'clock Fuzz 90-100%. I would so go get another used fuzz face on eBay and send it off to Mike if this were lost or stolen, may even just buy his Sun Face. This pedal makes you want to play, it sounds that good. I wish I had done this sooner.
I can't compare it to the '69 Pedal (never played one) but next to the Germ London Fuzz, this wins hands down, I shouldn't have gotten that thing, this is where it's at, your ears will thank you!

assuming you are familiar with fuzz and have a good rig it is just a matter of maxing the fuzz, matching your amps volume plus a few degrees, and moving your fingers. or if you want to keep it on all the time and control the fuzz via your guitar volume, max everything.
so simple like chess. the trick is mastering the beast, not possitions of dials. so 10 for ease, and w for wisdom required

i am lucky enough to have a vintage marshall cab with 8 10inch speakers all in great shape. an importand componant in using fuzz is in most cases a tube amp and a well constructed cabinet. they seem to reign in the beast enough so your not bucked off. but... this fuzz is so smooth you might be able to get away with whatever you have.maybe.
this was a stock dunlop fuzz face that was sent to mike for a semi classic mod. he installed New.Old.Stock. germanium transisters, but did not change the resisters.i think he also adjusted the trim pots to his taste. the pedal sounds warm and mean. it has the ability to overdrive(ts808 but more organic), sound like a tone bender (jeff and jimmy) and of course like your boys (jimmi, stevie, eric, kenny, lenny, princey)strange to look at clapton's first name rarely is it used.
obviously you must learn to play, have a good ear, and study (mostly hands on experience) sound creation with amps guitar(volume and tone knob manipulation on the fly) and equipement before expecting to nail all those sounds, but they will be at your disposal, providing you are ready.
this is the perfect pedal to buy if your torn between buying different pedals such as the 69 the 70, the britbender, the soulbender, the axis fuzz, the fuzz face, or triangle big muff.
it will be close enough to those pedals to peak your interest and then make you forget you ever wanted anything else. all ready true bypass from the manufacturer, and from conception of the circuit. can you believe that? way ahead of it's time.

i play original 21st century music. i tap into all the music i can find. good equipement is timeless. its just a tool like a hammer. you can build a victorian home or the radically designed E.M.P. it is you who dates yourself or chooses to evolve and take music to a new place with hints of the foundation that was laid by the past masters.
