Very simple to use. Speed and depth knobs. I paid extra to get the dry/wet control, which frankly isn't necessary but it's nice to know it's there.

Sound Quality : 10
Absolutely beautiful would be the best way to describe this. You can go digital, pay a lot less, and get some very nice chorus sounds, but they won't sound like this. It is hard to explain the difference between this and a digital chorus, but you know it when you hear it. This somehow manages to come across as both warmer and more shimmering than a digital chorus. You can put it on a real light setting to just give the guitar a bit more presence, or you can crank up the rate to simulate a Leslie sound. Mix it in with a nice vintage distortion or overdrive and find yourself sounding like the transition part from Cream's/Clapton's "Badge." Those are sounds you just can't swing from a digital chorus.

This is without a doubt an expensive pedal, but if you value your chorus sounds, it's well worth it. This pedal enhances your sound like a chorus pedal should and doesn't simply run it through a filter that digitizes your tone. Plus it's true bypass as are all the AnalogMan pedals.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank and runs better than one. Absolutely gig-worthy.

Customer Support : 10
Mike's a busy man, but he does answer his e-mails in a timely and thorough fashion. I have not had to deal with repairs or anything of that nature, but AnalogMan has a reputation for taking care of customers.

Overall Rating : 10
It's hard to believe thath a $250 chorus pedal could be considered a fantastic value, but I think it is. The old saying that you get what you pay for is very true in this case. If I lost this, I'd save up to buy another. Because it enhances my tone so well, I can use this far more than I would be able to use a Digitech or a Boss. Those choruses only seem to muddy the tone. AnalogMan makes it sparkle.

Simple... two knobs and a switch... Oh yeh you do need to be able to play a compatable instrument... I have found the electric guitar the most favourable... a friend plays the church bell and he finds the chorus effect 'incompatable'. Another freind plays the electric piano, he thinks it's highly compatable... someone else uses it with some folk thing.. he raved about it and tried to pinch it, On each occasion a manual was not required.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a telecaster and musicman amp... I use other effects, Beano Booster, Peppermint fuzz, Effector13 Rocket, Opto Stomp, Keeley DD3, Shapeshifter.. this thing compliments them brilliantly... I like clean tones and this chorus makes the sounds flow beautifully... It's very sweet effect... no noise... I once owned a CE1 and this beats it..which I think says a lot... go on get one you won't regret it!

Reliability : 10
I own three Anologman products, they are very well made. I've had no problems, I am thinking about getting some more of their stuff.

Customer Support : 10
I emailed them for some advice, they got back to me within two days..I'm giving them nine because they only considered building my own new concept effect...

That's got to be worth a 10! bearing in mind, the effect is designed to relieve musicians on stage during long sets... my famous effects piddle... or Piddle board.

Overall Rating : 10
This is the second review I've entered for Analogman... I've never ever done anything like this before... Their stuff is so good. It sounds propper, they've pulled all the stops out to make great products. This in my opinion is the finest chorus available.. and should be on your effects board... what do mean you have an effects board.. put it on your ironingboard... Ooh... you're a drummer.. I'd hate to be a drummer... means you can't have one of these.. in fact I'd hate to play any musical instrument you can't plug one these into....

2 knobs and bypass. if you cant operate this thing..you have bigger things to worry about than chorus pedals..it gets a 10 because it really couldent be any more simplistic.

Sound Quality : 10
i am primarily a 6 string bass player. i dont use any cheap equiptment, but what exactly i use is irrelivant. this is the best chorus ive tried. i tried the choralflange (wich really wasent bad) TC electronics (..eh) boss (dont even get me started..) and many others..nothing is as nice as this. it gets a 10, because its simply the rolls royce of chorus pedals. some might say its pricey but..honestly, its less expencive than all the competetors i named above, with the exception of boss..for obvious reasons.

and one last note, i got mine with the fixed deep setting because im a bass player. of course, it still works great with guitar.

Reliability : No Opinion
once it arrived, i opened it up. everything is very, very sturdy in there and i couldent immagine it going bad on me. i would never buy anything that i couldent gig without a backup..but since i havent owned it for that long now, i wont give it a number rating.

Customer Support : 10
ive dealt with mike. very friendly and helpfull. answered all my emails within a day. i would immagine if something went wrong it wouldent be a problem at all.

Overall Rating : 10
i play primarily jazz, funk, psychedelic rock, reggae..ext ext. once again, all my gear is the best available (and some of it isint even available to the public..) and i go out of my way to get "the best." in this case, i'll no longer be looking for a chorus peadal. if it was stolen i would order a new one right away, id maybe consider a blend knob..but i dont think its neccesary. there is no other product i can really compare this too..even though it is a clone of the elecro harmonix (wich ive tried, vintage and new) its a completely unique sounding chorus. absolutely, it helps me make music.

last thing id like to share is that its slightly larger than i expected it to be..i was expecting the standard MXR size box, its slightly larger. is that good or bad? neither..it was just a little suprise. overall, since this pedal has ended my search for a high quality analog chorus that works as great on bass as it does for guitar, it gets a 10 overall. wow.

Easy. Very easy even in dark venues.

Sound Quality : 10

The quality is the best. I have tried so many choruses over the years, it is not funny. From circa 1970 on. This baby is so transparent. I try not to keep it on all the time, but it is tough.
Make sure you get the MIX control knob. Just bleed as much as needed for any of your settings. Mike sends some settings to try, but, defintely try yourself. There is a fat setting that just you can detect, but, when it is not on you know it. Setup strat/pauls p90's
..Max od808-mod, Ibanaez ts9-mod, .. into classic30/ or Mesa cal22,superRev 70's

Reliability : 10
Analog man products last and are durable. I have a couple others.
No prob.

Even though he has been getting busier over the years, he always gets back to you, even on stupid questions like mine.

Overall Rating : 10
I Play mix blues/R&B/other..since long long time ago. If this were lost I would get another. Thinking of getting another for backup.
No tinny output here. Thick whenever needed, or just rolled off
for just a hint. I might change led's. Played outside this summer a couple times, and stompboxes that have std light, hard to see if enabled. The scope of this unit coupled with no loss of sound are the primary features. What else do you need. Heck, it even cleaned up the od's a notch.

This one came with the mix knob, so: Speed, Depth, mix. Very easy.

My setup is....

Custom Strat or vintage 335 --> Pigtronix EP-1 --> Analog Man Bicomprossor --> Analog Man SD-1/808/Silver --> Stephenson Stage Hog --> Analog Man Mini Clone --> Keeley TR-2 --> Boss DD-5 --> Van Amps Reverbamate --> Custom Deluxe amp.

I want to preface this review by saying that I have never EVER liked chorus. Buying this pedal was the last hurrah for me and chorus effects. I thought if I didn't like this one, I just flat out didn't like chorus, and that would be the end of it.

All I have to say is: I now LOVE chorus. I don't think this thing will be off very much. Very convincing Leslie type effects (especially with a tiny bit of grit from the sd-1/808), incredibly thick and rich tone. It really was much more than I expected. I won't say that it's better than every chorus that's ever existed but it's better than any I've tried, and I've tried alot. Visual sound, voodoo labs, T.C., (all nice, but not quite as good) etc. If you're playing through a boss CH-whatever or other digital, you don't know what chorus is yet. TRUST ME. Especially don't spend an arm and a leg for an original EH small clone. It will only sound better in your mind cause it's vintage!

I give it a ten because I personally see no improvement needed. I will not search for another chorus.

Reliability : 10
I have a few A.M. pedals and they all work great and are rugged. I don't forsee anything happening to these babies.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is a busy guy but still finds time to give you the response you need in a timely manner. If you're looking for someone to have long chats with or email dialogues, that's probly not gonna happen. You're better off going to a gear forum. He has always been responsive and helpful. Great service.

Overall Rating : 10
I play a mixture of lots of stuff - gigged for 10 years - played fusion jazz stuff a la Victor Wooten for a long time but then started writing alot of rock after being more influenced by Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and some others. In essence, rock with more interesting progressions. I've always enjoyed Andy Summers' guitar sounds for rock and pretty much anyone else who's played for Sting, and chorus is always a big part of that tone, and now I've got that tone dialed in - Great tool to have.
At the end of the day, if you're a chorus lover or someone who looks at their digital chorus with disgust, look no further!

Speed, depth and mix. Pretty darn simple.

Sound Quality : 9
I like chorus, but only a little bit of it, so the mix knob lets me accomplish this. It controls the amount of dry signal that gets mixed in with the chorus effect. I tried to get a subtle chorus effect with other pedals using the depth knob, but didn't care for the metallic sound that results when you turn down the depth. With the mix knob tuned completely counter-clockwise and the other two knobs set at noon, I get a very nice liquid chorus thats not overbearing. The mix knob is key.

Reliability : 9
Analogman's stuff is top notch. I have had several of his pedals and have never had a problem. Are there really people who have backup pedals? I'm jealous.

Customer Support : 9
Again, Mike stands behind his products, answers his emails, and is a very friendly person.

Overall Rating : 9
I play roots rock when I'm playing for myself and I'm in a power pop cover band. I've been playing for 32 years. I generally make my own guitars, but I do have some Fenders, a Reverend, and a Dano 12-string. Main amp is a Fender Black-faced Pro Reverb, but I just got an Allen Brown Sugar which might knock the Pro from the top of the hill. In addition to sounding great, this pedal is smaller than any chorus pedal that I've seen. I've also owned the Fulltone ChoralFlange, Visual Sound H2O, Boss C-whatever, and two Analogman Clone Chorus's. All of these are nice chorus pedals with Analogman and Fulltone standing out a bit. The mix knob is the feature that makes the Analogman Mini-Chorus the best in my book. Its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If 10 stands for "Fantastic Value," I'll give it a 9. Its definatley a good value. No pedal gets a 10. The way people give out tens on these reviews renders them meaningless. Ten should mean "perfect" or incapable of improvement.

Two Knobs, very easy to use.

Amazing sound quality! I play a G&L Legacy into a Marshall Bluesbreaker combo. It's not noisey at all, and the chorus is just lush and transparent. I've only had one chorus pedal before this one to compare to, and that was the BOSS CE-5 (I think).

What a difference, I was sold out on Boss's before, for their cool compact looking pedals, and cute color schemes, but damn, in comparison, the sound of the CE-5 was digital and stale. Not to mention some hum added to your chain.

I can't find any complaints about the sound of the Analog Man. It's perfect.

Reliability : 9
It's a very sturdy box. My only gripe here is that the knobs are very easy to dial. TOO easy perhaps, that my patch chord my rub on it by accident as I'm moving, and tweak a knob without my knowing. Other than that, it'll last a lifetime.

Customer Support : 10
Mike is very friendly, and responds to his email's in good time. Originally, I wanted the Clone Chorus, but he suggested this Mini-Clone. Same great tone with a smaller box? I'm sold. He also, *ahem* tries to help us Canadians pay less on the uh, Customs fees; Which I appreciate very much.

Thanks a lot Mike!

Overall Rating : 10
It's a very expensive pedal, but I think it was worth every penny. I lead worship for my church, and am also involved with two bands at the moment. It's great for all three of them. The bands I'm in are classic rock / emo influenced, and I find the pedal to be very useful. As I've mentioned before, it's so transparent, it does not get in the way of the music at all. I love it!! Great product!
