This was one of the first overdrive pedals out there for boss and was popular in the 80s hard rock music scene. I got the vintage chip mod and Mike (Analogman put the 14 prong chip in it. Before I actually liked the tone a lot but it was lacking bottom end. After the mod it had that bottom end to it. The high end was what I love about this pedal. Now it has a nice cross of highs and lows in it. ALso had the Push/Pull mod for Ibanez/Boss clipping and that works well too for two distinct tones. The Ibanez clipping has a little more midscoop sound to it. I loved this pedal ever since I bought and im shocked that im the first to list the mod on it! You guys need to tap into the OD-1 Analogman pedal. Its insane. The chip thats installed in it is like having two 4558 chips in it. So Mike explains. Awesome TONES!!!!!. I run it through my JCM 800 Reissue and I have a T.C. Electronic GForce with a hint of reverb and delay and now it is insanely beuatiful!!! A Must keep also love his TS9 mod/Maxon w/ true bypass
