pretty feakin easy. The only think that threw me off was that you can't plug the mic in directly to the unit. YOu have to use a mixer or a direct box. Other than than it's a piece of cake.

As long as you have a good quality mixer and mic, there will be no extra sound, but if there is static from your gear, the unit will amplify those frequencies. However, It is unfair to mark down the sound quality oof this unit because of that factor. This unity sounds increadible. I did not believe how good it made my recordings sound. The vocals, guitar, bass... everything. You can even plug the two master tracks into this badboy and warm up your digital recordings. It'll make sound just like analog.

I haven't had my unit for that long, but one of the buttons is kind of sticky. We'll see if it materializes into a problem. Other than that, no complaints.

If you own a studio, get one, if you own a four track, get one. If you have ever picked up a recording magazine and thought to yourself, "I want to record in a place like that," you can. Only difference will be that you are in your dank, smelly room while the pros are reading playboy on an italian leather sofa. The end product in both cases, however, will be awsome. There is a mic for every intrument of every song, and I would bet that every one sounds better than what you already have... a lot better, otherwise I wouldn't have taken the time to write this for you. GET ONE.

it is very simple to use. just plug it in and select the model mic you want and it will simulate it. i havent even looked at the manual so i couldnt tell you how well its written but you shouldnt have any problems with it. if you are familliar with any of the mic modeler plugins antares makes, it works pretty much the same.

the amm1 is a mic modeler. your sound quality definitely depends on picking the right mic model for whatever you are using it for. i use it for professional recording where noise is a big concern and it adds no noise to the mix, so although i have never used it live, i would assume it would be fine for that as well. if you do want to use it for a live performance, be aware that you cannot plug the mic right into it though, even though it does have an xlr input on the back of it it is a line level input. all the mic models sound amazing if used correctly. a friend of mine has a neumann u87 that i compaired using a shure sm58 with the u87 model and i cant tell the difference.

i have only had this unit about 6 months and it has been in a rack in a smokefree studio since i took it out of the box, so its been taken care of, but it has had many hours of use. i havent had a problem with it yet but couldnt say as far as long term reliability.

i have only had this unit for a about 6 months but havent had any problems with it so have not really had to deal with customer support in that way, but i did contact them via email before i purchased the unit and they got back to me reasonably quickly.

this is possibly the best piece of outboard gear that i have bought for my studio. the mic models sound realistic and it can save you alot of money because it can acuratly simulate many of the top name professional expensive mics. antares website has mic models on their website that you can download and add to your amm1. just about every mic that is used in recording is either included in the unit or available on their website. everyone that is except mics made by BLUE, a company that makes unbelievable mics that are very expensive. BLUE is just starting to become studio standard equipment so i hope that someday soon antares will come around and mic mic models for them but im not holding my breath. other than that i only have one other complaint about this unit, the powersupply isnt internal so you have a wallwart. overall i think this is a great unit and would recommend it to anyone
