Ease of Use : 10
Very very very easy to use, but with plenty of options for the more experienced user.

Sound Quality : 8
The Aphex has a super clean sound that is rarely harsh. The high end is crisp, and the low end has good definition. Maybe it's a bit smeary on the low-mids, but overall its sound is more than just useable. Very low noise. A fantastic piece of equipment for the price.

Reliability : 10
I bought mine used; it was made in 1998... 6 years ago. The previous owner had no problems, and neither have I. It's built solidly.

Customer Support : 10
See above.. I've had no problems with it. I'm giving Aphex the benefit of the doubt.

Overall Rating : 9
The Aphex 107 is a really cool two-channel preamp. Don't expect it to make your crappy music sound good, and you won't be disappointed. It's got a nice, fairly neutral sound that compliments darker mics really well. Both channels come with phantom power, a 20db pad, a 80hz low cut, and a polarity switch - the works! It doesn't have a ton of headroom, but over all the Aphex 107 is well worth the tiny price it goes for.

As simple as a pre-amp gets. Cheap power supply, but has last for two years of hard use.

Sound Quality : 9
For the price, you can't beat it. Decent clear sound, warm, fairly open. It gets a little brittle on the top at high Dbs. Plenty of gain. I particularly like the bass cut feature: it bumps the low mids for a fatter sound...wish I had this feature as an option on all my pre-amps.

Reliability : 9
Holds up to the road quite well.

Haven't needed them.

Overall Rating : 10
This is an outstanding value. If your budget is calling for a pre-amp under $200, this is your baby.

Easy. Controls arranged in a logical layout, all easy to find and painfully obvious as to their function.

Sound Quality : 9
Quiet. I use it for acoustic guitar and bypass my board's pre-amp. Very clear. Lots of gain available.

Reliability : 9
Never had a problem with it. I've never had a problem with any Aphex product.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with Aphex directly.

Overall Rating : 9
I definitely like this piece of gear. Yet another useful tool in my sonic arsenal. In a pinch, I've connected up a couple of mics to it and put the output directly in my DAT to record a concert. Worked well, and didn't have to lug a mixer.

The easiest preamp I own. Big, clearly labelled knobs and switches.

Sound Quality : 9
It always sounds good, even when overdriven. In this price range, I prefer it over the ART Tube MP and the Behringer MIC2200. I'm sure it's not as crystal clear as much more expensive preamps, but it's awesome for the price!!

Reliability : 9
No problems at all.

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know.

Overall Rating : 10
I love it. It's easy to use, it's relatively inexpensive, it sounds better than my home studio board, and it has input jacks on the front and rear. I'd buy another if I started needing more input preamps.

I'VE COMPARED IT TO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE PREAMPS AND IT DIFIANLY HOLDS IT'S OWN.
