This pedal has three knobs for volume, soul and fuzz. Very easy to dial in the sound one is after. No manual needed.

Sound Quality : 9
This is the third pedal from the guitar side in my chain of pedals. It follows my OD pedals. I mainly play HB equip guitars into a tube amp. This pedal produces some really good fuzz. You can dial in mild to extreme fuzz. However, you will get some added hum at the higher settings with the fuzz and soul knobs. There is a wide variety of fuzz tones if you take the time to make adjustments with pedal, amplifier, and guitar volume. This pedal tends to emphasis a bright high treble sound while it suppresses the lower frequencies.

Reliability : 10
While I don't gig out, I believe I can fully depend on this pedal. It is built very well.

Customer Support : 10
I hope and doubt I will not need any repair work. Keith is very nice to deal with and the purchase was very easy.

Overall Rating : 9
I really like this pedal. I am not one who continually recycles my equipment. I always try to pick stuff that I plan on keeping and enjoying. This pedal is a keeper on my board. It provides a different kind of fuzz tone not obtainable from an OD pedal. The only one gripe I have about the pedal is that the instruction sheet saids that the pedal should be powered by battery or a separate power adapter and cannot be powered by a power brick due to the grounding design of the pedal. Other than this, I would recommend this pedal to anyone who is looking for a great sounding, well built fuzz pedal.

omly 3 knobs. realy a no-brainer.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Didn??t get a good sound out of it. I own a modified Marshall 1974X (better trannies, original Celestion G12H, NOS Mullard tubes)and a 1973 Twin Reverb (NOS Sylvania tubes, 2 Celestion V30s). Sounds allways muddy with Strat, Tele or Les Paul.
Regarding the other Rewiews here mine must have been damaged. I own 2 different Fuzz Face clones which work perfect for me. One is the normal 2 germanium transistor circuit. The other has 3 germanium transistors; the third is for a realy big boost. So you can turn down the fuzz and only use the boost. Realy nice.

Building quality is realy ok.

As others have cover well...easy! no point repeating.

Sound Quality : 10
There has not been a fuzz on my board for a while...most of the ones I have tried just don't make my socks go up and down. I was not sure which of the two Aramat fuzz pedals to go with and first tried this one. It's a great sounding pedal but a bit too hairy for me...I exchanged it for a Mogo Fuzz and love that one.Still I wanted to review this one and compare the two. The Soul Patch goes from medium hair to really big ass hair! Very heavy saturated sounds can be achieved while clarity does not suffer. Sings and sustains big time. The Mojo begins quite mildly(good clean boost) but gets enough hair when dimed!IMO the SP fuzz is better suited for humbuckers while the MF is strat friendly. Both great pedals! The SP fuzz will please those after agressive sounds or when using with amps that have good head room. It is a ten for what it does...for me I like the Mojo(fuzz face type)best.

Reliability : 10
Looks well made!

Outstanding! Keith takes great care of his customers...thats one of the many reasons I am a repeat customer!
I purchased two pedals recently and realized I was looking for a different sound. This was my mistake for not asking questions which he does a great job of answering. He exchanged both and I am most satisfied!

Very easy. Tone, volume and fuzz. Almost impossible to get a poor sound.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound of the pedal is very good. It nails early Led Zep, Jeff Beck etc. Personally i find the treble control works best set about 95% to the right (bass) any sounds in the middle and beyond sound a little harsh with my set up. I pay through a 73 Pro reverb using a Les paul and Telcaster. Other pedals are a Aramat Green machine (excellent), DD3 delay, wah and tuner. The sustain is wonderful. Really natural. The very best thing about this pedal is you can hear every note. It works really well and my fav thing about it is that it's really aggressive sounding!

Reliability : 10
Build very very well.

Not had any cause to contact Keith as of yet. Don't think i'll every have to.

Overall Rating : 10
Excellent. If you want a fuzz that is aggressive, warm, and has loads of character buy on right away!

Three knobs vol, fuzz(drive) and soul( tone) Simple to dial in and easy to match volumes with clean signal. Soul knob adds bass turned clockwise. Point to point wired, true bypass, with a bright led when engaged.

Sound Quality : 10
The Germanium transistors in this unit are the way to go for fuzz in my view. I've tried units like the SD tweak fuzz and the only sound that pedal does better would be the Stone's Satisfaction. For anything else the signal is too distorted. This pedal is gritty when on full fuzz and at 3/4 just adds a real nice creamy distortion to the sound with huge sustain. Great for leads. The trasparency of the effect is probably the most impressive thing. When you back off on the guitar the signal cleans up. Everything comes through, not just a pedal to hide behind. The tone adjustment is really usefull for dialing in a Strat vs my ES335. Also different amps drive pedals differently so the tone control is very useful.

Reliability : 8
I think mine is an older unit. Large white Hammond box. Seems to be built like a tank. I did not really like the way the circuit board was attached to the box with a nylon rivit or something but I assume its still very durable. All jacks and switches are of high qualityand the pots are good as well. This thing would go the distance on the road.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 9
Best fuzz I've encountered. I demo'd a bunch at a local music store and decided that fuzz was just a noisy gimmick I wanted nothing to do with. I really wanted a heavy distortion ( not metal) pedal to do classic rock and sustained leads with to work where my OD pedals leave off and this fits the bill.

Three knobs - Volume, Fuzz, Soul (tone) - pretty straight forward. The tone know works in reverse - sort of. As you turn it clockwise, it gets thicker (more bassy).

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Les Paul through a hot rodded '75 Marshall JMP 100W into a mid-'80's Marshall 4X10" cabinet. I play rock & roll. Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix are my inspiration. I've been trying to achieve that '70's British hard rock tone - Humble Pie, Budgie, Sabbath, Faces, Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc. I'm pretty close to nailing it.

It's easy to get a good sound out of this pedal. It's especially useful if you're looking to punch up your leads. It's a little noisey, but hell, it's a fuzz, right? So long as you're playing and not waiting for a cue, you should have no problem. Unless you have a kill switch on your axe or you're toggling between pickups with the volume on one rolled off, don't leave it running.

This pedal comes in handy for players who use single channel amps. It's like adding a lead channel to your favorite vintage amp.

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't had it that long, but it looks/feels pretty sturdy. If all else fails, I'll just run straight into my amp. It's a Marshall after all.

Customer Support : 10
Keith responded to my questions and concerns in a timely fashion. That's what I love about boutique pedal manufacturers - you usually talk to the head honcho himself.

Overall Rating : 10
I play lead guitar in a rock & roll band. This pedal is full of mojo. If you're looking to juice up your leads, this one is a good bet. I've been playing for about 15 years and I've gone through a lot of pedals, particularly distortion, overdrive and fuzz boxes. I own vintage and other boutique pedals. I own an Analogman Sun Face - to be honest, I prefer the Soul Patch. I also have a Beano boost - which I totally love. The Soul Patch is about a hundred bucks less than the Sun Face and less noisey. On top of that, it has a tone knob that the Sun Face sorely lacks. I wish Mike would add one. If it were stolen, I would most definitely buy it again.

This is supposed to be an updated version of the Sola Sound Tonebender. I've never played one, so I don't know how it compares. However, I do know that when I step on it for a solo, jaws drop.

I like that Keith signs and numbers them on the bottom. I have #0185. I guess that makes me happy customer #185.

What are you waiting for? Go buy one now.

Ease of Use : 10
This pedal has 3 knobs: Volume, Soul, and Fuzz. Very simple to operate.

Sound Quality : 10
I use an Epiphone Les Paul Custom with the bridge pickup replaced with a Burstbucker 2, a Peavey Delta Blues 210 all tube amp, the Soul Patch, a Dunlop Cry Baby wah, and a Seiko tuner. From the minute I plugged this pedal in I got nothing but awesome sounds. It's true bypass which is nice when I switch it back on clean. I can hear Jimmy Page coming through my amp when I use this pedal. The wah works great with it and sounds amazing.

Reliability : 9
I can definitely depend on it. I've only had it for a week, but I'm sure it will last for a long time. I think I would use it on a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
I emailed Keith about the pedal and he responded, if I remember correctly, within an hour. I'm sure if I ever needed repairs on this pedal, Mr. VanDerSchaegen would deliver no problem.

Overall Rating : 10
I play classic rock. Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jeff Beck, The Rolling Stones, Santana, Eric Clapton. I definitely favor Led Zeppelin though. I don't like to copy other tones, but I like to get extremely close. The Soul Patch lets me do that. If this were lost or stolen, I would be devestated. I would definitely get another one. I like that when the fuzz is turned all the way up, it isn't unbearably fuzzy.
I really like the amp turned down, the fuzz at max, the soul almost at max, and the volume on the pedal up. Great pedal.

Ease of Use : 10
The Soul Patch is simple to operate. It has three knobs: volume, tone and fuzz.

Sound Quality : 10
My setup includes single coil pickup guitars--a Telecaster and a Stratocaster. I also use a Rickenbacker 12 string, but not with the Soul Patch on (maybe I should try it on!). Effects include a Boss pedal tuner, MXR compressor (the red one), Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer overdrive, the Soul Patch and a Boss analog delay (it's red too). All that gets plugged into either a silver face Deluxe Reverb or a Vox AC15. Both amps have reverb and tremelo. You might have guessed by now that I play in a 60's rock and roll cover band that is faithful to the sound and feel of the original songs. Of all the effects, the fuzz has got to sound authentic.

Reporting on gig situations, this pedal provides an
authentic and faithful sound with Satisfaction, Heart
Full of Soul, Birthday, Psychotic Reaction, Incense and Peppermints, In A Gadda Da Vida and Born to
Be Wild to name a few. This is the pedal I've been
looking for after going through so many others that
would squeal, have too much gain and too much noise,
sound to muddy, lack clarity or sound too modern or
lack fuzz. The Soul Patch totally meets my
expectations for a usable 60's sounding fuzz.

Reliability : 10
The Soul Patch is my new discovery and I'm very happy with it. It is very well constructed and I don't anticipate reliability problems. It is backed with a very good warranty. I probably could gig without a backup, but you never know. I back up just about everything! So, I'll keep a Fuzz Face in the accessory box because of Murphy's Law.

Customer Support : 10
I have exchanged prompt and friendly email with Keith, owner and engineer, before and after purchasing the Soul Patch. I have every reason to believe that customer support will be positive.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely replace the Soul Patch. I has the right amount of gain and fuzz I need to play 60's rock and roll. It's relatively quiet and expressive. Other fuzz pedals I've owned and used included: Dunlop Fuzz Face, Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz, MXR Distortion +, Jordan Bosstone, Maestro Fuzztone, Boss Hyper Fuzz, Boss Fuzz, DOD Classic Fuzz, Frantone Sweet, Frantone Peachfuzz. Hope this helps you with your fuzz issues! I think I'm going to go learn a
Yarbirds tune with the Soul Patch now. Cheers!

Ease of Use : 10
Easy to use- the "soul" is really the only thing to tweak in my experience with the pedal.

Sound Quality : 10
Wow, really aggressive at the settings that I prefer (fuzz and soul at max). The soul adds some treble when you turn counter-clockwise, I prefer it full-clockwise to get a thick, midrangy, growling fuzz. With the fuzz maxed out, you get great singing sustain. I've never heard the Sola Sound Tonebender so I can't really say if it's an accurate representation, but it's a great Fuzz pedal. Not really similar to a fuzz face or superfuzz, it's a little more usable. I really like Neil Young, J. Mascis, Gary Louris etc... All of those guys have great fuzz tones and this pedal is a nice addition. There are so many varieties of fuzz! The search is not over! I prefer this fuzz over the Aramat Mojo Fuzz (a great pedal too) simply because it's a little nastier. Lately I've been playing a SG with a 59 tweed Fender Tremolux and it really kicks *ss. I've played a Fulltone Soul Bender, but it's been years so I can't really say if they were similar, though I do recall enjoying it!

Reliability : 10
Good stuff.

Customer Support : 10
Keith is great! Highly recommended!

Overall Rating : 10
Great for rock and blues, even heavier alternative stuff too. I'd probably buy it again because it's got a great characteristic to it that makes it different from some other fuzzes. I only use it on full blast but you can get some usable Jeff Beck tones from it (but that's not what I use if for). Green Machine, Mojo Fuzz, and Soul Patch- I love them all. I think I'll eventually get all of Keith's pedals.

Very easy to use. The soul knob is really weird (in a good way) get a variety of tones with that, just make sure your vol. on guitar, amp and pedal are all max and the fuzz close or maxed then fool around with the soul.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup is a Gibson Les Paul Standard into a fender tuner, into the soulpatch - fulltone fat boost and fulltone clyde wah into a '99 Marshall JCM 900 100W 212.
First off, if you have 2 channels set your 'clean' channel gain to 2 and max out the master vol. otherwise you'll get horrible noise. but keep it real and you'll get this fantastic thick in your face fuzz that can be toned down easily by your guitar knobs. dont plan on using this as a boost , way too muddy, on its own it sounds amazing... VERY LOUD! but wicked!!! very very zeppelin, even the early cream stuff and you can hit hendrix really well aswell. its just a great unique fuzz.
Sounds great with a strat as well!!!

Reliability : 9
Seems exceptionally sturdy. very well built. true bypass. the insides are very very neat. very cool look aswell.

Customer Support : 9
i talked to keith right after i bought it and he seems very nice and proud of his pedals. thats what you need and for 129.99 scoop these pedals up fast cause this guy is the next fulltone. custom quality for an amazing price.

Overall Rating : 9
I play classic and 90's music. and of course THE DARKNESS if you havent heard of them then you have been living under a rock cause these guys will transport you back to 80's with rock solid tunes!!! Zep of course, rem, clapton, sabbath, hendrix, pj, soundgarden, u2, sounds great and cuts through in a live band situation. Can nail early zep, JUST REMEMBER TO CRACK THAT MASTER VOLUME AND LOWER THE GAIN on the amp and you will NOT be disapointed!
