Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use. 3 knobs - Level, Tone and Drive. Battery goes in really easily and the pedal goes down smoothly and without any lound clicking sound.

Sound Quality : 9
Excellent overdrive sound. I use it with chorus and delay effects and I get a really atmospheric, gritty sound out of it. The AOD-1 has versitility and can be tweaked to your preference. It doesn't matter if you want treble-laden overdrive or thick, bassy overdrive, the tone sounds great and it doesn't overpower other effects or create any unwanted noise. I'm keeping my Aria Overdrive for ever, baby.

Reliability : 9
I think these things stopped being made in the mid eighties, but the one I've got doesn't show any signs of malfunction or wear-down. Its casing is made from a really durable plastic and the knobs aren't flimsy or brittle in the slightest.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I play a lot of late-seventies/early-eighties post-punk and synth-washed stuff and the AOD-1 Overdrive really blends a gritty, dirty overdrive sound with my artsy-fartsy delay and chorus effects. On its own it sounds heavy and stands up against any other overdrive pedal I've used.

The standard three knobs- level, tone, drive..easy as 123.

Sound Quality : 10
These pedals are bargains, cheap to buy but sound fantastic. I've played this along side a boss od-1 and sd-1, rat2 and Ibanez ts-9 and this little plastic wonder actually sounds warmer but without giving up the crisp top end you need in a balanced guitar sound it's also very quite. Running each knob at about 1 o'clock sounds great and works well for my set-up which is a Tele or Strat thru a Bassman 59 re-issue. Hooray for modern mass production!!

Reliability : 8
I've used this pedal for a couple years now and I've had no problems with it. It's made from plastic but it's a durable plastic. Inside it is as well made as any boss pedal, quality soldering and components. Treat your gear well and it will treat you well. They are made in Japan.

I'm a working musician who plays many styles of music but generally mainstream rock. Been playing for about 20 years now and own 3 Telecasters and a Strat, my main amp is a Fender Bassman 59 re-issue but also own a Vox ac-30 and a Fender pro junior. I've got a lot of pedals that I can use if something happened to this but I would definitely seek one out again. I love the Arion for it's affordability and it's warm sound. It sounds a little like a Boss Sd-1 if you set it right but like I keep saying it's WARMER. Highly recommended!! Excellent VALUE!!
