Straigh overdrivepedal with metal chassis similar to most pedals. 3 inputs (in, out and DC powersupply. The finish looks like satin aluminium, and it looks pretty solid to me. On the to there is 3 controls for level, shape and gain + a red led that indicate on/off.
With this few controls it should be pretty easy to get the best sound this pedal can produce, so I didn't even bother to look in the manual.

I tested this pedal using two guitars. One std strat with gold lace pup's and a regular Les paul std with stock pup's. For the test I used 3 different amps. Nr 1. Carvin XV-100 head with 4x12" jensen alnico closed ca, nr.2 George dennis Mighty mouse head with a half open 2x10" jensen alnico cab and nr 3. A Gibson Goldtone 60 2x12" combo.
First I adjusted the amps to sound good and neutral, then I connected a few other overdrive pedals in the same loop to allign with. I see no point in makin a hole story out of this cause the pedal sounded just superb on all amps. From light 808 type overdrive up to distorted OD. You just plug it in and adjust the shape pot until it sounds transparent on your amp. The best this is that you wont loose any top or bottom with this pedal, it gives you a rich fullrange state of the art overdrive. With the Gibson GA-60 on channel 2 (drive channel) with light overdrive, you gets a powerful sound when this pedal is plugged in, even for solo's. Actually this is one of the best OD pedals I tried for a long long time. It is a best buy for the price.

Plays mostly rock, hard rock, blues, grunch and from time to time metal. I've screwed around with my axe for nearly 20 years now. If you plays black- og agressive nu metal you might find it a little light for downtuned power cords, but you can always boost it with another pedal in the chain. For all you others...... this pedal rules! It is so simple to you, plug it is, adjust the level and gain you wan't, and color the tone with the shape button...it all takes you 20 seconds and voila!!!! there you are FAT ASS instant rock'n roll. This one in fact plays better than many of my megabuck boutique pedals.
