two types of fuzz, white fuzz or black fuzz. Both sounds have a seperate level and gain control and taht'as it, simple!

Sound Quality : 9
This pedal is definatly not a one trick pony, to start with you have two sepreate types of fuzz available and they can be changed by altering the level and gain controles but you can also blend the white and black fuzz together and that's where this pedal really comes into use. You can create some amazing sounds from playing with your amp levels and this pedal. I play through and Epihone SG400 vintage and a Fender FM100 head and cab, the eqiupment you play through affects this pedal alot and i've noticed the true sound of your guitar and amp really comes through when using this effect so be prepaired to do alot of adjusting on you amp, but if you have a cheap amp and cheap guitar this is not the pedal for you.

Reliability : 10
seems solid enough, i gig it without a backup and have had no problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to use them

Overall Rating : 9
if you are after a pedal that's different to distorion or overdrive and half at least half decent equipment you'll love this pedal and the versitilaty of it.
However if you have a cheap and nasty eqipment i doubt you'll get much benefit from it.
personlly i love it...

Well this is a fuzz pedal so fairly simple to use. There is a manual with suggested settings to get you started but 4 knobs isn't that complicated.

That said, there are two fuzz sounds going on in there - and can be blended an infinite number of ways so there is a bit of tweaking to be done here!

Battery compartment access underneath scores big plus points here.

Sound is pretty good - there isn't masses of sustain compared to say a big muff so I tent to drive it with a compressor and I can get all the fuzz I want. I use single coils mostly but humbuckers drive it into saturation no problem without any boost.

It doesn't remind me of any other pedal I have heard - apart from some settings which seems to get that honking octave sound like an octavia.

The blending of the two fuzz sounds offers an interesting array of tones including some out of phasey sounds in the middle which are cool.

The two fuzz voices are not extreme opposites but they are quite complimentary somehow so it is a very versatile combination when you start blending them - you can also blend say black fuzz on max gain plus white fuzz backed way off the gain - but as each stage has its own level you can balance them as you like. Verrrry interesting stuff...

I tend to back off the tone on the guitar when I use it for a more smooth fuzz. This is a very nice rounded effect, not your buzz saw fuzz at all.

I'll knock of a couple of marks as it doesn't have enough gain with a vintage fender without a compressor or booster pedal in front of it, but that's easily fixed...

Reliability : 10
It is well made, same kind of die cast box construction as Voodoo Labs, TC electronic, Barber etc and most of the other boutique pedal makers. Solid.

This is a good pedal for rock and anything else where you want a characterful (as opposed to buzz saw) fuzz.

The Classic Fuzztown is very easy to use. Very basic operation. The manual is helpful in explaining how to achieve different sounds.

This is a Silicon fuzz pedal. The interesting thing about this pedal is it has two different fuzzes- Black fuzz and White fuzz. One sounds very smooth, while the other is a lot more ragged and snarley. They both sound like records you have heard from the 60's and 70's. You can also blend the two together to create wild out of phase sounds- the two fuzzes kind of cancel each other out, creating a synth-gated effect.
I use a Fender American Standard Strat with single coils and a 50 watt Marshall JCM800 single channel 2x12 combo. The strat through JCM800 is a very 'bright' combination, but one that I personally love. This combination gives a very clear sound, but can range from clean to hard rock sounds. The clean doesn't really compare to a Fender valve amp, but does give a very nice semi-compressed sound. The good thing about this amp is it can range from clean to slight break-up to full-on rock, with only one channel! The reason I am going through all of this, is that depending on the amp setting, the Classic Fuzztown can sound remarkably different.
With the JCM800 on a clean setting, the Fuzztown on maximum settings gives a nice fat distortion, that retains the sound of the guitar and amp. It is hard to explain, as it sounds way fatter than a strat and marshall ever could on their own, but it still sounds like those two instruments.
Dialing in some distortioun on the Marshall and adding the Fuzztown on top is what fuzz is all about. Thick! Fat! Singing sustain! Think Hendrix meets Kyuss.

Seems tough. I wouldn't hesitate to gig with it.

Very good- I emailed the customer service team in Korea, and they responded very quickly. (I emailed to enquire about the type of transistors used- silicon!)

I play rock and funk. This is a very good pedal. I have a EHX double muff, that is okay, but dominates the sound too much. The Fuzztown enhances my basix sound without destroying it. I love the sound this gives for leadwork- very singing sustain- kind of like Josh Hommes lead sound on the Songs for the Deaf album. Also like John Frusciante's solo on 'If you have to ask.' BUt still different.I gues idfferent gear will sound better/worse with this pedal, so try it out first.
This is my most used effect.
