So this is a revision of my review below. This pedal is a bit rough to use because if you turn the repeats past 9 o clock, you will break your ears.
They have a "Time" knob that's reverse of what you would expect from working with other delay pedals. That still gets me.

Now, I'm giving it a 10 to offset my 4. It's clicky, nasty, and horrible. I don't know what my issue was with it before, though, because I can't discern a tone difference with it in the loop or out. If you don't like how digital delays sound exactly the same on repeats, but don't like the soft pillowy analog delay thing, this thing is great. It gets thinner and more clicky the more repeats you put on it, so it gets out of the way, but it's not gentle at all.
Self-oscillates like a horrible thing. I don't know. I'm going to take some thrift store electric sewing machine pedals and wire up all the knobs to them so I can contorl the repeats and whatnot.
Silent Trio FTW!

$50 for a pseudo-analog delay that will rape your ears, and sounds completely unlike any other delay? Yes, please. Buy 3, and the reliability problem is solved.

3 knobs, even if you had no knowlegde of science or music you'd figure it out in no time. 'time' knob goes from longest delay to shortest, which seems counter intuitive to me...other than that tiny moan, no probs.

humbuckers-chorus-blues driver-delay-flanger-amp
versatile enough to get warm spacy echos or a simple tight slap-back sound.
no noise to write home about with a power supply, although it does seem to amplify the hum from the blues driver.
dosnt seem to suck tone...
if it isnt true-bypass, then its a very good imitation of same..
the self oscillation effect of this delay is just f++king amazing, ramp up time and repeat play a note, and your into apocalytic noise teritory. best bit is when the noise is raging, you can alter the pitch of the undertones with the time knob, then pull the mix back before your ears fall off. if youre into noise music, get this delay.

i bought this pedal partially as I was impressed with the build quality of an A/B swith I bought. Well painted, well made box. The fact that the power input is on the side rather than the top is a serious flaw, as it leads to the input getting moved arround more than it should.
its not rat or zvex build quality, but its 45euros, 1/2-1/8th the price.

I play a noisy mish-mash of folk, electro and rockabilly. (weve been described as nick cave fronting suicide), this pedal allows me to get that rockabilly slap-back sound, while allowing me the option of simply making a beautiful racket

I liked how dirty this pedal sounded. Nasty breakups with long repeats. Radiohead-esque whacked out spaceship noise galore. Not the best analog delay I've heard, but definitely very usable.

Can you depend on it? No. Would I gig with it? No.
Does Artec have or offer a warranty on any of their products? No.
I bought mine brand new and used it for two months, maybe 8, 9 hours total use. Plugged it in a couple of days ago and it just doesn't work. New battery, AC power supply, still nothing. The true bypass let's the signal through, but when engaged, nothing. Sent an email to Dragonfly Music and was told I was S.O.L.

I got a response from Dragonfly Music within 24 hours. The response let me know, however, NO WARRANTY.

The Artec like all other delays are simple to use. Take a little time though to find what works for you and the settings you find useful.

I have read both good and not so flattering reviews on this Delay, and I can say that I lean toward to the positives. Sure there is a little background noise here(like a lot of delays), but unless you are recording with a critical ear it should not be a huge problem. And like alot of delays, if you turn up the Mix/Blend too much you may find the repeats too harsh. I have run this through a very clean signal with no other inline effects and find it very pleasing and basically clear. Rough up the tone some and it still performs well. Never really understood when posts say this or other certain effects can interfere or destroy the whole chain. It is either bypassed or engaged and should have no bearing on the chain as a whole. Again, experiment and realize that too much delay (Mix in this case) in the tone can make it harsh and defeat the purpose of what the delay is really supposed to do: Provide ambience/space, slapback or subtle decaying repeats. The delay should be mainly used to sweeten and expand your exisiting tone... not change it. Also check for the best placement in the effect chain as this can make a huge difference in what is ultimately coming out of the speaker.
Analog is being tossed about pretty freely these days on a lot of product and I doubt that true Analog throughout is being used here.
I like the Artec for the wide time sweep it offers over some delays where you can never seem to dial in a setting where the repeats "sit" properly in the song. Either too fast or too slow. With the Artec, I find I have more control and this makes it more "musical" for me regardless of what you think of the overall tone output, which again I think is totally acceptable.

Mine has held up for over a year now and though others seem to complain about quality as soon as they receive (which is unfair). There is not one notice here on any Artec post I have seen of a true failure of any kind, so I feel ok about this.
Metal casing, True Bypass. Yeah the stomp switch "seems" maybe more timid than it is, but I have pushed it many times without a glitch. This is a great little box for on the go or on the board and a great little price. Very happy with it.

Also seems buyers complain about these companies without ever experiencing their customer service. Yes it could be hard, but there are Distributors who stand behind this product like any other company would and it is best to leave comments in this section "only" if you have had a bad experience (not in anticipation of one) So far I have not needed them.

Overall great little delay for a very small price. Again, I favor the time knob control over other delays and it seems to allow me to be more versatile in my playing. Best delay out there? Of course not,and there are hundereds to pick from both new and used.
Great bang for the buck though and if stolen, I would keep my eyes/ears open but I have owned( and still own) several delays prior to this one, but would probably keep coming back to this Artec unit for great overall value/price.

Fender American Deluxe Toronado, 85 MIJ Fender Strat, 02 Gibson Faded SG (ebony board). Fender HR DeVille 4x10, Carvin Vintage 33 1x12. Little Big Muff, 70's Thomas Wah, RE-20 Space Echo pedal, Red With Pentavocal Tremolo, Boss Rv-3.
I bought these knowing they weren't going to be the best (also bought a ADL2), but what I got is ABSOLUTE JUNK. Who the heck is writing these reviews giving positives? Have you ever heard a good delay? Heck even a mediocre one? If you are considering buying these thinking "Ah, heck they're cheap and how bad could they be"? Answer: HORRIBLE. Please I'm trying to save you some money. You can go out and find a Line 6 Echo Park for about 70 bux and you'll have a much better delay. These are super thin sounding. True bypass? Yeah when turned off your tone comes through, but what about when it's on? Turns your set up into a crap machine. I really can't say it again, IT S*CKS BAD.

Since I've only had them a short while it's hard to say, but just from holding and looking at the cheap *** inputs and switch I'd give it a few months maybe. Now if it's going to sit in your bedroom and not get moved....maybe a few more months. JUNK.
Would I gig without a back up?
I wouldn't take this to a gig for anything. Just bring the back up, surely it's better sounding than this crap.

It kills your tone when switched on, so much that it is effectively useless in a real situation. However, if you want a cheap delay to play around with (and you can't find an ARION SAD-1 for under $100), then this is a fun toy. Sort of like Danelectro pedals.
It self-oscillates like a bastard, which adds about 3 points. Absolutely terrifying.
It's true bypass, but when it's self-oscillating, you can still hear the whine in the background.

I bet this thing is pretty reliable for a pile of crap. Except maybe for the switch. Which I guess is a major part of the operation. :)

A fun toy, but nothing else. It's not worth putting in your chain, because of how bad it destroys your guitar's sound. But the self-oscillation is awesome. It's a bitey, harsh sounding analog delay. Which may be a contradiction, but I'm into Modest Mouse, and I fell in love with this pedal in theory.
Maybe I should get a guyatone MD-3
I'm going to see if I can trace the schematic, and etch a circuitboard to recreate this circuit with components that aren't surface-mount pieces of crap. Because if that makes it sound good, I will have a wicked pedal. Plus, I can throw it into a wah housing and control the delay time with my foot.

only time will tell. it's secure on Ny pedalboard. I have maybe 8 songs a night that I use it on. I mainly got it cuz my aria 80's delay (AD-10)with the bigfoot switch doesnt switch off well, it requires a light toe tap and staring down at the led to see if it went off, kinda throws ya off the song sometimes. So, since I can't really sell that on ebay for a high price cuz of the finnicky switch, guess I'll keep it as my backup.
It worked awesome last night though,,,my sound guy said I nailed "voyager" on the delay effect!!!!
I think "No Opinion" is fairest for now.

Does everything I need it to. I buy expensive pedals if warranted, but I'm not a pedal snob, if the cheap pedal works as good or better than the $100 to $300 one,,,then who's the fool,,right?
My final rating reflects my smiling face after playing Voyager last night, the price, sound. Could it be a ten? maybe,,,but a 9 is not a chopped liver score. Nice job Artec!!

Maybe I got a dud. Other reviewers rate this pedal very high. I can't do that, unfortunately.
I have a 1979 Les Paul Custom, a Fender bandmaster and a Fender Twin. This pedal sounded like crap thru all of this.
The quasi delay sound from this pedal sounds more "digital" than any digital delay I've ever used or heard. There is NOTHING warm about the sound. It is cold, icy and has a metallic ring to it that sounds very much like when you hit a long steel tube, like a flag pole, with a hammer - and you hear that metallic ping reverberating through the pole. That is NOT what I consider analog delay. They use two chips in this pedal which are probably digital.
This pedal added a very harsh distortion, similar to the "crackle" of a blown speaker, to the sound at all levels.
The repeat causes the signal to feed back horribly just past the half way level. It gets exponentially worse and completely unusable by 3/4 of the way up. The feedback is too much.
THIS PEDAL IS A CHEAP KOREAN RIP OFF. I DON'T KNOW HOW ANYONE ELSE FINDS IT A GOOD SOUNDING PEDAL.

The metal case could probably handle getting run over by a car, but that is the only strength I see in this pedal. The knobs feel cheap and will probably break sooner than later.
The stomp button is amongst the flimsiest and cheapest I've encountered. I guarantee this stomp on/off button will break quickly. I'm almost afraid to step on it, it is that weak.
This is destined to be a one hit and into the trash pedal.
Save your money.

The pedal is made in Korea, good luck here.
At the present Artec pedals can only be purchased on Ebay from one seller. He is a good seller, ships via USPS Priority mail same day you pay for the pedal. This pedal only cost $45.00 so it is not worth the cost and trouble to return and exhange. besides, from the looks of the pedal, I'd only get another bad pedal. No fault of the seller, he does not manufacture the product.

Poorly made, horrible sounding pedal. Don't be fooled by the heavily edited sound patches you'll hear on the manufacturers web site. The pedals don't sound anything like that in person.
It's a $45.00 paper weight. You'd be better off getting a Behringer or $15.00 Danelectro rather than this Korean junk.

okay, for $50, this is off the hook. I've tried not too many analog delay pedals, but I have tried major ones out there. I have to say this pedal resembles keeley ibanez analog delay mod pedal a lot. very warm tube sounding pedal. one thing that I dont like is that with my Vox ac15 it has slight hum issue. but it's hardly noticable. compare to od or distortion pedals it's almost nothing. truly true bypass dosen't color the tone of my strat at all. but with low battery, it's a totally different ball game. it sucks up my tone, and makes some crazy feedback. also it was hard to find the right power supply for this pedal. but danelectro DA-1 power supply works like a charm.
