My pedal did not come with a manual, and it has me wondering how this pedal is intended to function.

Pretty straight-forward regardless. Level, tone, crunch, and heavy. Input, output, DC9V neg center in or 9v battery.

I couldn't get the sound out of it I was looking for. See below.

Sound Quality : 1
With the 2 gain knobs all the way down, there's absolutely no signal passed through, regardless of the level setting, just a TON of noise. So this is completely unusable for a clean gain boost. Start rolling the "crunch" and "heavy" knobs forward and you get heavy distortion at only 8 o'clock. The tone knob rolls off a little high end, but not enough to get a warm fuzz tone. So you basically get one sound out of this pedal.

Also, this pedal has no power. Even with every pot maxed out, there is an audible drop in volume when engaged. The bottom end also disappears when you click this thing on. So it's basically unusable in any real live application.

Reliability : No Opinion
I also bought an Artec analog delay at the same time as this unit. The delay shat the bed after 2 weeks of only using it gently at home.

Looking on the inside of the SE-DDB reveals that the pots, jacks, and switch are all mounted directly to the cheap pcb. It doesn't look built to last, and Artec offers no warranty. So play at your own risk.

No warranty so....

Overall Rating : 1
This pedal is noisy, unmusical, and will kill your signal. It's not built to last and there's no warranty.

I ended up buying a Fulltone GT-500 after this and couldn't be happier with that decision.

The pedal is fairly essy to use, but hard to adjust the small 'crunch & 'heavy' control knobs because of their location. The manual is of little help.

Sound Quality : 8
I used an O.L.P. MM-1 guitar with Seymour Duncan pups w coil splitters (sh-2 jazz at neck & sh-4 JB trembucker at bridge). The amp was a Crate GX130C 65watt x 2 stereo s.s. 2x12 combo. The pedal was quite noisey, alot of hiss. I did find the 2 distortions to be more bluesy than metal-sounding. I got a couple of decent sounds by combining the 2 distortions.

Reliability : 9
It is well-made, all metal. I used it on 2 gigs w/o any drama.

n/a. Not needed. The seller Dragonfly (Steve), answers his email. Steve did do an exchange for me, so he is cooperative.

I play 60's-80's classic rock. This pedal really does not suit me; I am going to sell it on ebay, too noisey..

really easy to use. 4 knobs. Level, Tone, Crunch and Heavy. Was up an running with killer tone in a minute with this thing. Love it!

AMAZING. This is like a Tube Screamer on steroids! You can blend overdrive AND distortion TOGETHER with this pedal (that's why it's called a Due Drive BLENDER pedal). Everything All in one neat little box. You can use it as a stand alone overdrive/distortion in front of a clean amp, or turn down the gain and use in front of a dirty amp for a tube screamer set up. I can't tell you how much i love this pedal. Artec is still sort of an "underground" unknown brand, but that just makes it cooler for me. They make some great pedals.

Reliability : 10
Built like a Cadillac. Tough old school look to it. solid metal parts and case. It's also true bypass and 100% analog. SWEET.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a need to contact customer service. I'm a big boy and can take care of myself, hehehe

Overall Rating : 10
true bypass, old school analog with modern twist. this is the best pedal for overdrive AND distortion. From AC/DC rock to Cannibal Corpse death metal, this pedal can do it.
