Ease of Use : 10
Super easy to use.
No manual, you don't need one...

Sound Quality : 10
Sounds like the fuzz guitar on the Ventures' "The 2000 Pound Bee". Just like it.
The pedal is quiet and the controls definitely change the tone as they are adjusted. I'm using a Fender Hot Rod Deville with it.

Reliability : 9
I just go it, so I'm not sure how long it'll hold up. The construction looks solid though.

Customer Support : 8
The company lost my order at first, but once I alerted them to it, they sent out a new pedal immediately.

Overall Rating : 8
I play surf, rockabilly, and rock n' roll. The pedal is a really good match for that equiptment.
I've been playing for about 10 years. I play mostly Gretsch and Danelectro guitars through Fender amps.
I would buy it again if it was stonlen or lost.
The pedal absolutely matches the Moserite tone.
It helps me make music because it makes you play differently with this kind of obscure tone. I think Buck Owens used that Moserite pedal too.
Kind of limiting because of the tone, but if you're buying it for a copy of the Moserite pedal than you know what you're getting yourself into. Overall, a great pedal

Two knobs for volume and depth (fuzz). So although it's only a 2 knobs pedal, you can dial up a good & wide range of tones!!

Built for simplicity. Very easy to set up and to use.
So you can find YOUR unique sound with this pedal!!

Sound Quality : 10
I love the Ashbass Fuzzbrite!

I've used the Fuzzbrite with 2 different Fender vintage Strats, a vinage 50' Fender Tele & a Gibson Les Paul 50'. They were all swithed
between a Marshall Stack with El '34 Tubes.

The Fuzzrite does play well with other pedals, no problems at all. Its directly a great Fuzz in any setting you will set!
You can really change the color of the tones with the 2 controls.

Now I know how John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers gets his lead-sound for his live soloing parts (with the fuzzrite)!!

It really cuts through!

I love this pedal and will use it often!!!

It has a very distinct sound and I would miss it if it was gone. I would absolutely purchase another. In fact, I may do this anyway for different applications. It is well made and very reasonably priced.

An easy fix if your solo sounds boring or if you need to add some speciall dimensions to it!

You just cannot beat this one.

Stomp button and two knobs. Nothing to it.

Sound Quality : 9
This is a spitty gritty fuzz. I bought it a few months ago and I haven't heard anything this raw before or after. It's a cool sound and is easy to push over the top of anything.

I don't know of any famous artists who use this. I wanted some fuzz and this one sounded like a choice.

I'm using a strat knock-off into an old Crate micro-stack. The pedal sounds great through it and is in a different world than the built in distortion.

It's noisy when turned up but so is the amp's distortion.

Amp using see above

It seems sturdy. I got worried after ready the rewiew below and emailed ashbass about those things. I got an answer back the next day and was told this.
"the only unconnected wires I can imagine are those coming out of the circuit blob. Be assured that inside the blob where everything comes together, all connections are tight and soldered up nicely. If the aesthetics bother you, you can snip off any one of the the 'loose' wires (not both of course) and the pedal will work because those wires are connected inside the circuit. So either of them can be used as hot.

The original FUZZrite pedals had a block of foam inside that the battery sat on so that when the battery door was closed the battery was pushed down into it. That kept it from moving around. Any household material will work similarly to hold the battery in place."

I had the battery taped in before but I put some cloth from a tshirt for it to rest on and it doesn't move. So I'm ok.

Quick. See above.

I play new rock and old rock. I've been playing for 2 years and own the guitar and amp mentioned in the reviews. I have a Boss tuner and distortion pedal. I'd buy another but maybe a used one. I've seen some used on ebay. I love the fuzz of course! I didn't compare because it was the first one I tried. I like it. You should try it.

Two knobs for volume and depth (fuzz). They work off of each other, so although it's only 2 knobs, you can dial up a good range of tones.

Sound Quality : 9
I love the fuzz this box gets! It really does the mid 60's thing to the T!
I've used this pedal with 3 different Strats, a Tele Thinline, and a Gibson SG with 59's. They were all swithed between a Fender Blues Deluxe, 70's Champ, and a Traynor with EL34s.
Once I dialed the depth to match the guitar's natural tone, the fuzz was perfect. It has a good blend of buzz and splatter. If I turn the depth low, the sound gets very loose and splattery... very low-fi. If I turned it all the way up, I noticed harmonic jumps and electronic-sounding blips as I picked notes. It's a very dirty electrical sound, maybe just usable in certain situations.
The Fuzzrite does play well with other pedals, no problems at all. I tried a power supply and a carbon battery, and there was only a very slight detectable difference between the two. The power supply made the treble stand out a little more, and it sounded slighlty more brittle. Nothing bad, just an observation!
The fuzz comes easier with a 6V6 or 6L6 powered amp. EL34's were a little more immune to the pedal, and it took a little extra volume to get the same effect as a Fender-style amp.
The fuzz is easily controlled by the guitar's volume knob, however it doesn't clean up entirely well.
Although I don't see this pedal as a fuzz with a wide range of usuable tones, the one tone it was meant to get is absolutely incredible, hence my "9" rating.

Reliability : 8
I've had no issues up until now, so things are looking good. I did notice some components were soldered without being twisted together. Common sense says that's not the best practice, so we'll see in 10 years.
Also, my one major gripe with this pedal is that there's no battery retainer or clip! Having a 9-volt bounce around inside of this box seems like trouble waiting to happen.
The case is definately durable. The word "tank" comes to mind.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to contact Ashley yet due to any troubles, so I really can't comment. His courtesy during my purchase was outstading though! The world needs more people like Ash.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this pedal and use it often. With a fuzz pedal collection numbering 12, this is currently in my top 3 next to a Roger Mayer Spitfire and E-H Hot Tubes. If you play garage, 60's, or surf, this pedal will help you achive personal stardom. It also works well for other genres with a little creativity and know-how. It works well with any guitar pick-up and any amp, so there's no excuses! This is a great pedal that fills a void in the fuzz realm. Most other pedals use silicon transistors that all sound the same, or they're trying to get to the Fuzz Face Holy Grail. It's nice to play with this fuzz in the chain.
Aside from the lack of a battery clip, and a slightly limited usuability, this is a perfect pedal. I am still a little on edge with the construction methods, especially with a battery hanging loose in the case, but I tend to like things overbuilt.

If you can't manipulate two knobs and foot switch you probably shoudn't be using this pedal.

Sound Quality : 10
I've used the Fuzzbrite with my Sovtek Mig-50 and various Gibsons and Fenders. This pedal is excellent. It is not a smooth fuzz, however, it excells at being greasy and nasty. It is pretty flexible as far as the range of sounds that are available if you experiment. I love the fact that the Fuzzbrite is different from the masses of bass heavy, mushy fuzzes out there. Don't get me wrong, I love those too, however, the Fuzzbrite is a welcome change. It really cuts through!

Reliability : No Opinion
The inside of the Fuzzbrite looks very well made, at least the parts that I can see. The crucial tone section is encased in what looks like a giant ball of already chewed wrigleys fruit flavored gum. A necessary measure to protect proprietary secrets no doubt. I have not had it long but I am sure it will last, if not, I am sure Ashley would fix it if something went wrong. Based on the amount of time I have owned it, I will not rate the reliability.

Customer Support : 10
Ashley Bass was quick to respond to my questions and was very pleasant to deal with. He shipped quickly and followed up with e-mails.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing 22 years and I am heavily into fuzz. The Fuzzbrite suits my musical tastes as I am very much into so called space/stoner rock plus all other rock styles as well. I love all flavors of fuzz and this was a very welcome addition to my massive stomp box collection. It has a very distinct sound and I would miss it if it was gone. I would absolutely purchase another. In fact, I may do this anyway for different applications. It is well made and very reasonably priced.

Simplicity and performance. They don't get much easier than this with 2 controls - Volume and Depth. Yet, with just 2 controls you get a very wide range of fuzz tones and they are actually usable. Way easier to find pleasing fuzz settings than say the Mercer Box by Jacques, or The Sweet with their 4 knob dual germanium transistor design. The 4 knob pedals can take many hours to work out the right settings to get usable tones. The Fuzzbrite is far eaier to dial in several very distinct fuzz tones.

Sound Quality : 10
I have used this pedal with a Marshall SLP Reissue and a 70's Fender Bassman and come up with classic fuzz tones on both. I have not tried it into an amp with a distortion channel, so I am not sure how it would sound in that set up. This pedal works equally well with my Les Paul or 52 Reissue Telecaster. Use this pedal with a Tele, and you will see how Jimmy Page got the sound he did on Zep's first album. You can also get Jack White's heavy fuzz tones, if you max it up. You can really change the color of the tones with the 2 controls.

Reliability : 10
Have only had this a short while, so my opinions are based on the examination of the unit. Simple design and sturdy box. Resistors set in a solid lump of epoxy (?) compound, so it looks very solid. Soldering very clean. I was a bit concerned that the battery might rattle around inside the box (there was no battery clip) so I duct-taped it to the side to ensure the battery would not bang against any of the components inside the box when moved around.

Customer Support : 10
Excellent so far. 1 of the plastic knobs was damaged during shipping, and I e-mailed Ashley to ask for a replacement. He responded right away, and mailed a new knob out. I was very impressed with his quick and friendly response.

Overall Rating : 10
I play classic rock, and this is an essential pedal to have in the arsenal. I have another Fuzz, a boutique germanium transistor pedal which took me weeks to dial in, but I was able to easily find some great fuzz tones on the FUZZbrite in minutes. This pedal nails the Sabbath, Zeppelin and Hendricks sounds. In 20 years, this will be the TS808 everyone is throwing hundreds of dollars at. This pedal is a bargain at the price, and sounds as good as anything out there. The germanium fuzz pedals may have a wider array of wierd sounds, but for an outstanding range of classic fuzz tones, you cannot beat this one.

I haven't had the need for further customer support. The unit arrived fairly promptly and works as advertised.

Overall Rating : 9
I play rock and blues and have always liked the fuzz effect; especially found in 60's - 70's R&R. Been playing (off/on) for years and recently started playing on a more regular basis: garage-quality. Fuzzbrite is to be used with everything from a '59 Melody Maker, mid-60's Silvertone, as well as Telecaster and Charvel rigs. If the unit, in time, proves itself reliable, I certainly would replace it if something happens to it. So far, so good. A very nice product and a good value. Buy one, if you want to get fuzzy.

As easy as it gets. Plug in and turn it up to 10. Then step on the footswitch...pretty simple.

Sound Quality : 10
The FuzzBrite sounded exactly like the sound samples and exactly like I wanted it to. Nasally, nasty and gnarly. Not unlike the Maestro used by the Electric Prunes but exactly like the FuzzRite used by the Ventures in Fuzzy and Wild among others. Not a Grunge pedal-but I think grunge is boring so I'm not too sad!

Reliability : 9
So far so good. I've rehearsed with it and played one succesfull gig with it and I LOVE it. Big metal box and the switch seems solid as Sears.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know but they seem cool and I got the pedal in only a few days so I got faith.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play 60s/70s garage rock/Blues and this is the perfect addition to my pedals. I have a late 60s Maestro, early 70s Thomas FuzzWah, Voodoo Lab SuperFuzz, Moon Rock and Danelectro French Toast(all are good) this is as good as any of the others. I play a Dillion Mosrite copy through a Vox 30 watt valvetronix and it sounds fantastic! I actually back the fuzz off to about 6 because my amp crunches aout and that is STILL more than sufficient fuzz for our stuff(Sons of Moon-NYC). Good stuff!

Using a '03 Gibson Melody Maker w/a P-90 in the bridge position or a Fender Cyclone with SC/HB combo into Fender twin reverb. Very fuzzy fuzz. Great for Garage rock of the 60's The Seeds, Davie Allen, The Doors, etc...
