2 knobs: "Blend" & "Volume" -- pretty easy.

Sound Quality : 9
This is a very bright fuzz that accentuates the high mids, it is a welcome change from the whole sludgy darkfest that makes up the Big Muff camp. Like anything, I'm sure it will depend on your amp. This type of pedal would seem to be perfect match for a darker amp, although I like running it through my '60's Epi Pacemacer, but I like the high end. Makes me want to grab a Mosrite & run it through a Vox...

The blend knob on this is interesting, is actually usefull. The minimum setting is pretty a straight distortion/fuzz effect mixed with your signal & the maximum yeilds a complete un-blended el-splatto fuzz. This is not one of those heavily gated fuzzes.

My only critique is the volume of the pedal -- I leave it on 10 & it is not enough. I have never played an original Fuzzrite, but the volume of the pedal seems in line with other vintage units, so I really can't complain.

This is actually a very versatile pedal. I can see somebody using this as their stand alone distortion on the minimum settings without it reading as "fuzz", but at higher settings yeilds sizzle & splat.

Reliability : 10
A big metal box, what can i say? I would not want it thrown at my head.

Customer Support : 10
Have not had a need for support or repairs, as I have just recieved it, but the Ashbass eBay transaction where I purchased it was smooth.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a great pedal for any type of '60's psychedilia or garage style romps. If you are looking for a lot of bass definition -- look elsewhere.

Would I buy another to replace it? Maybe not. I really like my E13 Soda Meiser a lot & am using that for fuzz. but if I had to put together a quickie board with only one distortion pedal on it, I would prolly throw the Fuzzbrite on it.

Over all a really nice pedal.

This pedal is very easy to use...it took me about a minute to find the perfect sounds of Cream,Spirit in hte sky,Iron Butterfly...etc. MYy own unique sound was found too. very easy

Sound Quality : 10
This is the fuzzzzzz that has been in my head and have been looking for. I am lucky i stumbled upon it. It has the best response to playing styles and every note can be heard. It IS the PERFECT FUZZ for anyone who digs the sixties garage, hard blues, classic rock sounds.

It is very buzzy wich is what a fuzz should sound like...to me

If you have burstbuckers...be warned...you just might get the best fuzz tone you may ever hear

Reliability : 9
Wow...the switch is perfect and very solid...the housing is thick and sturdy... couldnt break it if i wanted to....who would?

I give it a 9 cuz ive only had it for a few days

Customer Support : 10
I give you a ten ashley...just cuz you made such a damn good product

Overall Rating : 10
I play from White Stripes garage rock to hard blues driven hendrix-like stuff. it is a perfect match to my playing style and my tone i have been searching for. I own a Big Muff,a Vox V848 Clyde Mccoy, and a fuzzbrite through a Marshall MG50dfx. My guitar is a Dean EVO Special Select w/ Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3 (wich are really sweet and perfectly compliment everything i do and have) and a 1964 Epiphone Granada. The fuzzbrite sounds AWESOME with my Granada and guess what...(my amp and Big Muff and wah sound crappy with my Granada) Lucky me

There is no negative i could find, when i first got it i played for about 6 hours almost looking for it to sound bad...i couldnt

Compared to other fuzzezzzzz ive tried...they all sound like crap compared.

I bought this simply cuz its the best FUZZ ive ever heard...seen...and so fourth. This one actually responds to playing dynamics...WOW

Volume...Depth..thats all it needs...simplicity is what is in every GOOD pedal.

If you want to have a good fuzz buy this...

ITS A TIME MACHINE AND A FUZZ UIN ONE BOX......groovy huh? haha

Very easy to get a great sound. Two knobs, Fuzz and Volume.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Wow! This fuzz is incredible, i've owned tons of old fuzzes and this was an instant favorite.
Very fuzzy/splatty buzzy sounding.
The only fuzzes i can really compare it to are the Roland Bee-Baa and the Lovetone Big Cheese. It sounds quite a bit like the Bee-Baa when the bee-baa is set for lower gain. Still the Fuzzbrite has more "splat" in it's sound than the bee-baa.
It currently sits on my board right next to the bee-baa.

Reliability : No Opinion
Here's where i'm not so sure. It looks well put together but mine arrived DOA.
It was just a loose solder joint though.

Customer Support : 10
Great!
Ashley was very helpful when i said i had a problem with the fuzz. The repair was prompt and cheerful.

Overall Rating : 9
Lately i've been playing a sort of pseudo spaghetti western style which the Fuzzmite works well for.
I also sometimes play a pseudo jazzy style with noisey interludes, it works well for this too.

IMHO the fuzzbrite's best use if for punky or psychedelic stuff

Couldn't be any easier to use. Haven't tried it on acid yet though. But really 2 knobs? My mom could work it.

Sound Quality : 10
IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA,ba-by!!! I've only tried it through my Marshall DSL on clean and two Strats -one with Seymour Custom Custom Bridge & '59 neck humbuckers and it was awesome. Haven't had that sound under my fingers since 1971. My other Strat has EMG SA's and that sounded like crap, not compatable. But then we didn't have EMG's in the 60's! Played Iron Butterfly,Grand Funk,Spirit. Totally nails it. It's the shit!

Reliability : 10
Only had it 4 hours. So far,no problem. I would use it without a backup because I ain't buyin' two of 'em!

Customer Support : 10
Hey,friendly emails. Don't want no stinking up grades man.

Overall Rating : 10
I play classic hardrock. This pedal would be the perfect reason to put IN-A-GADDA in the set. Hell maybe play a whole sixties set. I love it. But I don't wanna play thru it all the time. That's why we got sick of 'em in 1972.I've been playing for 40 years and have tried the Fulltones and others but they weren't even close. If I wanted to get picky I'd opt for a light but ain't no mistaken when this thing is on. Ashbass could easily ask double for this pedal and get it. Better get one now before he reads this! Peace & Love & watch out for the brown acid

stomp switch and two knobs. you'd have to be thicker than a $5 malt not to figure this out

Sound Quality : 9
i play a stratocaster with a two 1959 gibson PAF humbuckers, and a fender frontman 25R amp.

the pedal is noisy, but i attribute that to that great fuzz. i play a lot of 60's style garage rock, and this pedal is fantastic for that. the pedal is not very responsive to the higher side of the scale, and has a tendency to flatten your notes during solos. so, it's not a pedal i would use for every song. but, for rhythm, it is awesome.

Reliability : 10
with it's rock solid construction, i would definitely trust this pedal

overall, i recommend this pedal to anyone that wants to attain that vintage warm fuzzy distortion.

Volume and Depth...easy peasy. The Depth is pretty cool in that you can dial in different characteristics of this fuzz, subtle but cool.

Sound Quality : 10
Vintage Strat (old fernandes lawsuit). SG with p-90's. Telecaster. Vox clyde McCoy. Keeley TS-808, Dano Cheapo Chorus (hey it sounds good!), Boss DD-6. Also got a bunch of pedals I don't use. Amps- Fender 70's siverface twin, Roland Cube 30. I needed an AUTHENTIC Buzzy 60's fuzz and this is it. I sold off many fuzzes in the past that I truly regret (hermida modded Fuzzface,a few vintage tonebenders, sobbat fuzzbreaker3)The FUZZbrite is right up there with them. In my 20+ years of playing/listening to music from the 1960's and having played through the real deal, I can tell you this is an essential part of the kit. Crunchy, fuzzy with a lot of garage attitude. I had to play Iron Butterfly's "Termination" and some stuff off of Love's "Forever Changes". Sweet.

Reliability : 10
Great build quality, rock solid old school. would not be afraid to gig w/o backup. Nice switch...not a happy meal toy.

Customer Support : 10
Ashley was very easy to deal with, stands behind his stuff, and I'm sure he'd take care of any issues that come up without a problem.

Overall Rating : 10
I play original rock and also for a weekly paying gig. I will use this for recording, textures, flavors. I'd buy it again if lost or stolen. It's got tones I need. Nice and Raunchy. Why buy inflated "toyz" prices when you can take a trip back to '68 for just under $100! For the price, this is a great buy, and a future classic.

On the one hand, it's easy to use - 2 knobs and an on/off swich, but on the on the other hand, to use a fuzz pedal like this and to find the right 'context' for a fuzz that is this nasty is kind of hard. It's not the pedal's fault - it's the nature of the mosrite type of fuzz family. I have played through a sanner fuzzrite and this nails it to a tee - AND it's true bypass and it's got a boss style 9v adapter. I wish it had a light to tell me when it was on - oh wait, when this thing is on - there is no mistaking that it is on!

Sound Quality : No Opinion
This thing sounds amazing. Some people may be put off by the sound coming out of it - too fuzzy, not musical, but not true - if, and this is a big IF, if you know how to use it. Fuzzes like this in the right hands can be effects of glory - think Neil Young leads, think Dave Allen, think the Ventures, think Biker chicks, think I can't get no satisfaction, think Yardbirds, think spirit in the sky, and you will get an idea of what can be done with a pedal such as this.

The way that I use it - is the following - I use the neck pickup on my strat with a bit of the treble rolled off and I make sure that most of the reverb on my amp is dialed out. I then roll off the volume on my guitar just a tad to make the pedal hungry for signal. Like this I can comp chords and get some nice stuff going - then when I need some blistering lead work I turn up the volume and away she goes...!

Another way that I've used it - I use a Jacques Trininity filter pedal with the rate going really sloooow and I feed this into the fuzz and then into a trem pedal - and I can get some massively awesome oscilating fuzz chops that go up and down - it's really quite psychedelic!

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems reliable

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't really know

Overall Rating : 10
Great copy of the fuzzrite - it's mean, it's nasty, but it's tamable if that's what you want. It's not a fuzz face pedal and it's not an overdrive or a distortion pedal. It's in a class all by itself. It's not a pedal you would use on every song, but for those occasions when you need to turn heads or for recording a singular riff - there she is. I'm still discovering what it can do....

A True-Bypass on/off switch (it won't squash your tone) volume control and depth control. It doesn't get any easier than that!

Sound Quality : 10
I play surf guitar. I use a DiPinto Galaxie 4 guitar through a vintage Boss OD-1, the FUZZbrite by ashbass and an Ibanez AD99 analog delay. These pedals are plugged into a Fender '63 Vibroverb reissue amp with a custom made Jenkins extention cabinet with two 10 inch Oxford speakers. If you've ever heard The Ventures fuzz guitar sound, particularly "The 2000 Pound Bumble Bee" (Parts 1 and 2) they exclusively used the Mosrite FUZZrite for all their songs requiring that "fuzz" sound. Ashley Bass has faithfully recreated the vintage Mosrite fuzz by using the exact same circuit and parts as the original and takes it a step further by adding a True-Bypass on/off switch to preserve your natural tone along with a standard 9v AC adapter jack to make it easy to incorporate into your pedal board or simply save on batteries.

Reliability : 10
This thing is solid and hand wired. Much more dependable than most pedals made overseas.

Customer Support : 10
I've already had several contacts through e-mail with Ashly and it's been a very plesant experience.

I play 60's style retro surf music, the FUZZrite works perfectly for this. I've been a playing guitar for 30 years and over this time I have become a tone freak! I refuse to plug my guitar into anything that will squash my tone. I also use an American made 1962 Fender Jazzmaster reissue and a Fender Stratocaster 12 string. If this pedal was lost or stolen, I woul replace it in a heartbeat.

No rocket science required. Plug it in, set volume & depth, press button. Let it go!

Sound Quality : 9
There is no peach fuzz with the Fuzzbrite. Playing a Dillion DM75 w/Mosrite pickups, this unit makes the clean channel of a Marshall MG50dfx sound like the overdrive channel. Great drive & sustain on southern rock leads. I don't know what the origional Mosrite Fuzz pedal sounded like, but who cares, this sound is classic.

Reliability : 9
First of all, right out of the box, this pedal looks like it was made in 1970. I don't know about the long run, but with the heavy duty switch and brushed metal housing, it looks like this thing was built to last.

Good follow-up & communication on delivery from seller, Ashley Bass. I'm not sure if she makes house calls.

I'm no Dickie Betts, but I sound alot closer with this fuzz box than I ever did before. Great for classic rock & surf sounds. A good deal for the price. I'll have fun with this until Ashbass comes out with a delux model.

Easy to use...you're kidding , right? This is THE classic fuzz box. volume knob.Depth knob. Footswitch. That's all folks. Welcome to fuzz heaven!

Sound Quality : 10
This is THE Mosrite Fuzzrite sound. Period. It's the only fuzz I've found that sounds EXACTLY like my old long gone (sob) Mosrite Fuzzrite pedal I bought around 1968. The Mosrite fuzz box was used by both Danny Weis and Erick Braunn on the first 4 Iron Butterfly albums. If you like that sound-here it is! When I use this pedal with an Eastwood Mosrite Ventures copy with P-90's I can duplicate the Iron Butterfly sound EXACTLY when played through a Vox amp. (A Mosrite Ventures model was used on those first 4 albums). This pedal also sounds great with every one of my other guitars (see below). Sounds much more like a real vintage Fuzzrite than the Sanner Fuzzrite I got rid of, which was very weak and sterile sounding by comparison, and Mr. Sanner built the original Fuzzrites in the '60's for Semi Moseley. Go figure!

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. I don't think I could break it if I tried.

Customer Support : 10
Ashley (ashbass) is a great guy. He builds each pedal himself by hand, and stands behind what he sells. I would buy from him again without hesitation.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 43 years. I play blues, jazz, flamenco, classic rock, and acid rock from the '60s.

My current gear consists of a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, American Standard Fender Stratocaster, Epiphone Riviera, Eastwood Sidejack (Mosrite copy- great guitar), Ovation Balladeer Special, Montalvo Cypress Flamenco w/cutaway, and an Epiphone Emperor Regent. Fender Deville 410 Amp, Fender Stage 112SE (my favorite amp of ALL time), and a Vox Pathfinder. Pedals include Ashbass Fuzzbrite, Boss Fuzz (no longer used), Boss TU2 Tuner, Boss SD1Overdrive w/ TS-808 mod, DOD Icebox Stereo Chorus, Crybaby Wah, Ibanez DE-7 Echo/Delay,DOD Supra-Distortion (no longer used). SKB pedalboard, Fender Tortoise shell Medium picks.

I would buy another one immediately if this were lost or stolen. It really is the real thing. Ashley should be charging $300 for this pedal as it far exceeds any of the wanna be boutique crap out there.

If you want the REAL '60s fuzz sound- buy this pedal!

Sound Quality : 9
Great fuzz is hard to find. This is an excellent place to find it! Reportedly fashioned after the MOSRITE Fuzz pedal that although I have never played through, this pedal seems to meet the nasty '60s style fuzz if you want it to. Slight (very minimal) loss of signal when off. Virtually noiseless when off as well.

Reliability : 10
I've only had it for about two weeks and haven't had time to try all my guitars/amps with it. But looking on how well it is build it looks like it should last a l_o_n_g time.

Customer Support : 10
Again, since I just recently purchased it, I haven't had to report a problem. Ashley (ASHBASS) was very prompt on shipping plus packed the item well.

Overall Rating : 10
I play alot of different styles but bought this pedal trying to nail the '60s garage fuzz riffs set forth by many of the obsure bands of that era. I am always searching for new fuzz flavors, keeping the more "tasty" and selling off the not so good. This pedal will be a keeper! If lost or stolen, I would buy another if available.

well people it doesn't get any better than two simple knobs to dial in the desired volume and depth of fuzz tone your after. the simple set up in my opinion is the best when playing live and not to fuss around with tweaking knobs for each song. set the this groovy box and venture out in the fuzzmania!!

Sound Quality : 10
i have been through countless fuzz boxes and this is the fuzz unit straight from the schematics of the true mosrite fuzz. this sound is straight from the 60's nuggets we all go wow!! now that is the fuzztone i'm after. it has the perfect sting from the swarm of mosquito's buzzing out of your amp. i had to get two units for that my good musician pal loved it so much i would have never gotten mine back. it nails the correct fuzztone without farting out or falling on its face. my tone madness stops here, believe me,and it doesn't matter what your rig is. this little baby will blow your mind and speakers.

Reliability : 10
i have never had a problem with this unit. it is constructed out of the finest metal box and no cheapy components. made with the top parts and switches available on the market. it is to the exact specifications of the mosrite fuzz. whatever mosrite used, ashbass used. if ever a problem occured, mr. bass is very friendly and stands behind his work. i got to be invited to go over where he lives and try out this pedal. he lives about a hour away...lucky me! anyways, this fella showed me what was with this unit and how it is taken from the original mosrite he had to copy from and wow! i was blown away by his knowledge and honesty of a true tone master. not once did he bullshit me to sell his creation! that is where i was sold!! the man stands behind his work and follows thru with his word!

Customer Support : 10
it is very plain where i stand on that queston. refer to reliability and that is enough said without going on...and on...he is a true tone maker and stand up fella with his own personal guarantee on his work!

Overall Rating : 10
this fuzz seperates you from the crowd. that is why i love it so much!! i will continue my business with ashbass and if i ever need some tech help. i know he will be there for me to answer the most silliest queston because that's what kind of professional fella your dealing with. i always said, "finding true love is a never ending search process" but.."finding true fuzztone is a process that i found here". thanks man for all your hard work!!! cheers people for taking the time to read. now lets get groovy and fuzzout!!

Great old 60s fuzz sound. It nails that Mosrite brittle nasally fuzz. It is a kinda high pitched when everything is cranked and for my taste I need to adjust stuff on my Bassman plus tone on geetar but otherwise love everything. It's super easy to get a great sound. Just plug it in and go, and well you get a fuzzy mammoth right away. I didn't get a manual with mine, but you don't need one. Like I said, plug and fuzz-o-la!!!

Sound Quality : 10
I thought it sounded great upon first use through both my handmade tube amps. It is easy to balance tones and volumes, and it lends itself to many guitars (SG Special w/p-90s, Stock '60 Jazzmaster, 74 LP Special with Fralin custom-wound HBs and Gretsch Malcolmyoung with a TV Jones Power tron. I thought immediately of bands like Davie Allan, the Ventures, the MC5, and even groups lik MonsterMagnet, Fumanchu, early Sabbath, and of course Mudhoney. Hot damn, it's a fuzz pedal, you can't go wrong...

Reliability : 9
I feel that I could depend on it quite throroughly, although, I wish that it had a clip for the battery to keep it from moving around. I side it is very simple. All of the solder joints look good and proper. If it's anywhere near as well built Fuzzrite's it'll at least last my lifetime. My only complaint is like I said, I wish that it had a battery clip, but I can get on easily enough so no big deal.

Customer Support : 10
Ashbass seems easy to contact and a good guy, so I am sure his support is good also. It is a simple pedal so he must not even need to do many repairs.

Overall Rating : 10
Great pedal for a good price!!! It's handmade, a exact replica of one of the best fuzzes out there, and it doesn't cost you as much as a house!!! I like tonnes of rock...old surf, rockabilly, garage, punk, etc...You've heard it all before....so I won't bore you. I would try to replace it if stolen. It holds its own with the old school pedals. My only comment is like I said I'd like a battery clip, but reallt who cares!!! Overall it will be a cool tool/toy in the future!!!

This is a VERY easy to use unit. It is your classic no-muss no-fuss FUZZ unit. One button, two knobs ... all rock.

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with Gretsch and Danelectro guitars. Amp - Peavey Delta Blues (not the ideal combo). The effect is always strong (as long as the battery is good). Make no mistake about it - it is a FUZZ TONE! Nothing really subtle about it, though there's a wide range of fuzz. If you're looking for that vintage Davie Allan (or Cynics) sound, this is it. Great fuzz, great price. It's not noisy, it's fuzz. Haven't been able to try it with a Mosrite, but I expect that that is the ideal guitar for this unit.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable - I've never needed a backup, aside from the time I forgot to pack a spare battery.

Customer Support : 10
Haven't needed any customer support, other than friendly e-mail exchanges with manufacturer. Very nice fellow.

This is ideal for 60s garage music, or anyone who wants to sound like it. Your classic Davie Allan, Ventures, Fuzztones, Mudhoney, et.al. sound. I've played many distortion boxes, but none like this - it's as close to vintage as you can get, without the price and unreliability. I'd definitely purchase it again. I've been playing for 25 years, in many bands with many cd's and tours. This pedal is for real.

Real fuzz tone!

The Depth control is so dynamic that you can really tailor the sound

Eg: From Satisfaction to Insence Peppermints to Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum.

The guitars I use are Mosrites, Gretsches, Gibsons, Fender Jaguars, Mustang types, Strat, Guilds, Hagstroms ...

Didn't sound too noisy.

I can get Satisfaction (Sax sound), Spirit in the Sky, Pushing too hard, Groovy 60's ...

I play 60's style Rock in' Roll, Psychedelic, Surf, Rockabilly, Groovy stuff and Jazz, Blues, etc.

Best Fuzz yet since the 60's Gibson Maestro.

I'd get a few more if they got lost ... recomend them to my friends too.

I love the "ripping your pants off" kind of sounds alot.

Acid rock!

I like how the depth control can really tailor your sound and bring out the dynamics.

I think its more authentic then the Boss Mega Distortion as far as fuzz.

The Boss Mega Distortion is fabulous too for different kinds of distortion.

More Marshall type sounds.

The only thing I wish it had was a snap out battery comparment cause you have to unscrew the bottom part to change the battery but I hear the adapter jack eliminates this need.

Almost attempted to paint the thing some Psych color now - Lol!

You should do that Ashley?
...

It's perfect for my needs and next gig.

Good work Ashley!

Features a volume and a depth knob, with a stomp switch in the center. Even in a simple layout like this, I was able to get a wide variety of tones.

Sound Quality : 10
Unlike other fuzz pedals in this price range, this one features true bypass which is nice. This pedal is also very responsive to your playing style, and the controls are sensitive. I especially like this pedal with the guitar switched to the neck pickup, playing in the upper octave range of the neck. One can easily go from that Iron Butterfly fuzz tone to the Cream era Clapton sound with this unit.

I play whatever is in my head at the moment. Surf, classic rock, alternative, whatever. I'll never get an original Fuzzrite so this is great. The maker says that it is the exact same as the originals. If it isn't it sure sounds the same to me.
