Mine has the rca in and outs, but a trip to radio shack and it's now in the effects loop of my amp.
Holy Crap Santa! What a nice tonal difference. The well worn cliche
"Like taking a blanket off my amp" certainly applies to this little wonder. I would challange anyone looking for more crisp transparent detail from their amp to try one. The little red buton lets you put the BBE process in adn out at will. Once you hear it with the effect on, you are not going to want to turn it off.
Works equally well for humbuckers, strat, tele and P-90's and the effect on effects is stunning.
I'm a cynical old fart that doesn't fall for the hype attached to most of the crap they try to pass off on unsuspecting consumers these days. If my first name was Thomas, they would add "Doubting" to the front. As a matter of fact, many people think I come from the mid west as I can easily take on the "show me" personna.
So, with that crap out of the way, this is a very nice, cost effective tone enhancment.

I have the one with 1/4 ins / outs. I use it in the loop of all my amps. I NEVER play without it. High and low knobs...process on / off switch. An idiot could work it. I should know, huih?

In the loop of a Peavey Revolution, Peavey Transformer 112 and a Peavey Bravo. Tweaking the knobs acts as a presence and resonance tuner. Very effective for tuning your amp to whatever space you are in. Brings forth that sparkle and shimmer to the top end and beefs up the bottom with punch and clarity. The process itself is engaged when you turn on the active switch. Once you get accustomed to it, you'll never gig or record or mix without it in the chain. The little 264 unit is all you need. The bigger, full rack units are nothing more than glorified and pricier versions of these. I love it and I love the tiny size. I just click it to the speaker magnet and I'm done. It rocks!

I plug it the effects loop of my head while using a pedal distortion. I got it for Christmas and I will never have a setup with out one whether it be guitar or pa. And also since its stereo, I go into the right, then out the right, and into the left and then out the left and back into my effects loop. I found this works best instead of splitting the line. Great unit and its extremly woth the 50 bucks. I am looking to buy a rackmonut in the future. There a blessing to the Audio world.

Very easy to use, there's two knobs, one for highs, one for lows. Doesn't get any easier than that I don't think. Didn't come with a manual, doesn't need one.

Using with Jackson JSX-94 with EMG 85 in the bridge and Kramer Imperial (explorer shape) with EMG 81b/60n, ART SGX2000 Express. No amp yet as I'm in the process of getting a Mesa 20/20 and Marshall cab, using it through my 50W computer speaker system right now (Creative FPS2000 if anyone cares). This unit is not noisy at all, I was using the harmonic exciter in the SGX2000 before I got this to get a similar effect, but it only added noise and clanginess to the highs, this unit has NO noise. I don't even use the harmonic exciter now, haha. This unit really makes the ART rock hard, clean patches sound beautiful through it too. When others say that it's like taking the pillow off your speakers, it really is true. It really thickens up the distortion too. This is probably one of the best effects that will ever be in my setup.

I'm sure it is dependable, heavy duty metal casing, knobs are very sturdy feeling. I would be comfortable gigging without a backup for this unit. The only problem I see is the push switches for the power and bypass functions seem a little cheap feeling when pushing them.

I play anything from blues to metal, this is great for anything though, it clears up your sound, makes "clean" sounds really nice sounding, and really thickens up your distortion. If it were lost or stolen, I'd replace it as soon as I had the money. The only things I wish it had are available in the rackmount models.....in other words, I'd like rackmount capability and 1/4" inputs/outputs, but Guitar Center had it on sale for 59.99 (I believe this is now a discontined model and that's why the low price) and a rackmount model would have been nearly twice that, this gives the same sound, so I couldn't justify paying double for just those couple features.

There isn't an easier piece of gear in existance. Two knobs, lo-contour & process, unbalanced RCA in/out, a power switch (on back), and a in/out switch for checking the original material against the processed material. The manual is very straight forward, giving a brief, but informative description of the BBE process, and explaining how the unit operates. It is all printed on both sides of one sheet of paper, which is fine.

I am using the 264 on my master mixes. The BBE process is one of the best things to happen to audio. When you first run a mix through it, the difference seems very subtle. Then you start hearing the fullness of the instruments, and everything seems so much more clear and punchy. Hi-hats and cymbals sizzle, lead guitars have more crunch, vocals have more breath and air, flutes have more air, string sections have more buzz, drum and percussion tracks become more lively and immediate sounding. The sound of the process makes you WANT to listen to the mixes. It really grabs your attention, and makes it easier to hear the finer details contained in a mix. Then you bypass the processor and hear your original material... YUK!!! "This thing is making THAT much of a difference?!!!" I mean, the mixes sounded great when I got done with them, and at first I thought the 264 was making a "subtle" sonic difference, but bypassing the process is like getting a slap in the face. I'll never go back. This thing sounds INCREDIBLE!!!

I compose and produce New Age/Electronica/Mood music. My entire studio is run off a 500 MHz PC, Cubase VST, SEK'D Red Roaster 24, and then all my synths and modules, etc... I do internal mixdowns at 24-bit, 48 kHz, and the files stay that way until they hit CD. The 264 is the only outboard processor that I use, everything else is plugins. I was skeptical at first to introduce an extra D/A-A/D conversion, but for what the 264 does it is totally worth it!
If this thing was lost or stolen I would replace it in a heart beat!! I'm already addicted to it after only 2 days of having it. Actually, I will probably pick up a 482 in the near future. I would rather have 1/4" connections, as opposed to the RCA on the 264. I bought the 264 as an inexpensive way to test out the BBE process on my material. I had been reading great things about BBE's processors, but didn't want to shell out $200 to find out. But for $79.99, the 264 is gives you a HUGE bang for the buck. If you've never owned a BBE, grab a 264 (or 262), and become addicted. You'll never go back.

This thing is really simple to use, 2 knobs, 2 switches. The power switch is on the back panel. The function switch is process in/out. The lo Contour knob adjusts 50 Hz. The process knob adjusts 2.5 kHz. These seem to be shelving eqs. The manual is printed on a single sheet of paper, on both sides, landscaped, and folded in half. It explains how the process works, where to use it, what the controls are for. Basically, you turn the knobs until it sounds good, and use the process in/out switch to a/b wet and dry.

The 264 operates at -10dBu levels, unbalanced signal. The left and right channels are linked together, so when an adjustment is made, it is made on both channels. It is not designed to plug a guitar or mic directly into it, and states this in the manual. It is more for stereos, and that is what I use it for. I have the 264 between my head unit and my EQ/Xover in my pickup truck. It works quite well, I use a power converter to get 110vac, then back through the wall wart to get 12vac to the unit. In a vehicle, the noise floor is quite high, so any noise induced from this not-so conventional power plant, is not noticed. When the process control knob is turned up, I have to lower the highs on the EQ (This is why I think the EQ is shelved). The Lo Contour knob makes a really nice way to handle the effect of no bass end at low levels. With both Lo Contour and Process controls turned all the way down, A/Bing the process, I can hear the difference the time correction makes. This difference is for the better. The unit is small, I removed my ash tray assembly and shoved it in. This is a unique use for the unit, so I thought I would share it. I use the 362 model on my home stereo, and a 362NR on my PA. In all cases, the sound quality is only improved.

I have only had this installed for about 6 months, and has never failed me. I live in the Chicago area, and went through winter without any adverse affect. But the unit has not been locked up in a hot vehicle yet. I am going to rate at 7, because of this, and because this is the second unit I have had for this setup. The first unit had a bad wall wart out of the box, and the whole unit was replaced the day after I bought it.
