Ease of Use

It's probably the easiest thing I've ever used...2 knobs and a push button.

As of now I'm using it with my Fender M-80 combo amp (in the effects loop) and it sounds awesome. Before I used it everything sounded thin and weak, but now I can hear the full potential of the amp. As soon as my 5150 head arrives I'll try it out with that (the real reason why I bought the 422) and I'll update this with my thoughts. The only thing that could be said negative about this is that it makes it sound really processed (depending on how you tweak it) but youo can avoid that by turning the knob down a bit, it wont sound quite as smooth, but a lot better than the amp sounds without it.
Reliability

I believe it would be very reliable...the knobs are sturdy and It looks like it could be dropped a few times with no real problems...I'd use it without a backup, no questions asked. But since I havent had it long enough yet to know I'll give it an 8.

I play metal in the "Gothenburg" style (IN FLAMES, Dark trainquility) and the 422 really brings out the sound and makes it sound fuller and heavier. I've been playing for almost 8 years now. I have a Fender M-80 (mostly used for clean sounds), a Randall Warhead 4x12 cab, and any day now I'll have a Peavey 5150. I am using a Fender Jag-stang guitar, with an EMG-81 pickup in the bridge and an EMG-SA pickup in the neck (for clean). I haven't tried hooking it up to my recorder yet, but I'm sure it will make everything sound a lot better. I think everyone should own one and since Ebay seems to have a lot of these for good prices, theres no reason for them not to, unless they have a newer version of course.
