Ease of Use : 10
Super Easy to Dial up great tone!
The Sonic Maximizer and Compressor are very musical.

Sound Quality : 9
I've been playing for over 20 years and this unit offers some of the best live sound I've ever achieved.
I used this pre-amp with a Carvin DCM power amp and am Ampeg 4x10 cabinet.
I play numerous basses, fretted and fretless through this unit and every bass sounds great regardless of type or style.

Reliability : 10
6 years and still going without a single problem. Very road worthy!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had any occasion to call BBE concerning the pre-amp

Overall Rating : 10
Styles of music, Rock, R&B, Funk, and Country. I get what I need for any style.
If it were stolen, I'd get another.
I can't think of a feature that I'd like to see this pre-amp have that it doesn't already have. It's made from the best audio components available and was built for players.
BBE may not be the biggest name in bass equipment, but it stands far above the efforts of some of the best units available today.

This is a great Preamp,I own the solid state version and loved it so I thought that I would try the tube version and it is even better.

Sound Quality : 9
I am runing this through a Mackie 2600 watt Amp hooked up to Genz benz 8 10s and a Aguilar 4x12 and playing a Ibanez SR-505 5 string.
It is a little softer than the solid state BBE and I had to EQ it a little to get the even sound on the neck that I was looking for.
It has a very noticable difference between the notes when you go up and down the neck where even though I really like the loud aggressive punch of the solid state it is not as clear and as accurate as the Tube version.
The sound is very clean and clear I would say it sounds like a SWR mixed with a Ampeg.
Both the Solid state BBE and the Tube BBE cut through the mix very well and blend well with the sound of the band, that was my main problem with the Tube SWR preamp it sounded great but couldnt cut through at all.

Reliability : 9
I bought both BBE preamps used and they have been problem free

Customer Support : 9
I called today to get a schematic and I had a couple of questions and they were very helpful

Overall Rating : 9
So far this is the best most versatle Bass Preamp that I have owned.
