Very easy to use. I do wish they had included an on/off switch for the fan. With the current configuration I have to unplug it each time I'm done.

I wanted an attenuator that didn't color my sound -yet pulled down the power to the speakers in a significant amount.
The Leash more or less does just that.
Reliability

The reason I gave it a 9 is because they are using a fan to keep it cool. Fans wear out.
It does run cool though.
The switches, jacks, etc are of high quality.

Emailed them after hours -I wanted to know about it's construction and attenuation levels since I don't live near a dealer. I got a usefull reply within the hour from via black-berry.

As far as sound it's what I expected -no fizz or coloration even under high gain settings.
It's simple to use. I use it with a Guytron GT-100 which is a 100 watt amp. I can more or less dial it down to bedroom levels so I don't know what those other guys are talking about?
When you adjust the (wire wound) pot you get some scratch at the last part of the dial. Also under extreme attenuation the volume may jump slightly if the wiper isn't sitting in a "good spot". To eliminate this you just have to give the dial a slight turn to find a better position for the wiper to sit. But once you find a better position for the wiper it's fine.
The fan is noiser than it should be -it simply turns too fast. I may in the future install a 220 volt fan to quiet the sound -that is once the 2 year warranty expires ;)

Super easy to use, it comes with instructions too, but it is very intuitive. Just connect everything before turning on your amp, and make sure to set it to your amps output impedence. Two speaker cables are needed.

I've used this with 2 of my amps so far, both with good sound results. First I tried it with my Epiphone Valve Junior, then with my Dr. Z Mazerati GT, both thru a 4 X 10 cabinet. For just loud enough in the bedroom, I had the Valve Jr. set at about 7 volume and the attenuator about 1/3 up from lowest. This was a great blues sound. With the Dr. Z Mazerati GT, which is a horrendously loud amp, I had the amp volume at about 8 o'clock (maybe 3 volume), and the attenuator at about 1/4 from lowest (really dialed down). This gave a great Clapton full woman sound, as in "Sunshine of Your Love".
Both amps sounded great. One thing I should mention, most of us aren't really used to hearing natural tube overdrive, It takes a little getting used to. The guitar seems to play and respond a little differently with all that power going through it. It's a great way to get to know your amp too!

I just got it, but I would say Awesome! It's a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures you see on the internet and in magazines. It's pretty heavy too, really built like a tank. Should really hold up even for full time professial useage.

I like simplicity of design, and no nonsense. That was one of the main reasons I got The Leash. It looks cool, and it looks dependable.
I play mostly Blues, been playing 50 years. I wanted to be able to get some natural tube overdrive from my several amps, and this seems to do the trick. Highly Recommended!

I play a JCM 800 with no master volume and a Custom made Strat from the German luthier Stefan Zander.
The Leash does not work in the announced way.
The fan is noisy.

The leash does not work in the expected way. The Potentiometer has no effect until you use the ultimate setting. Then the sound gets a little distorted although the ampsetting is clean and some scratchy noises are produced by the unit. Bad Cad promised that The Leash provides seamless volume selection across your amplifiers power section, as it is said on their homepage. This is not true.

Overall im dissapointed in the unit. As an attenuator its not very effective. A 38 watt amp is still very loud unless you turn the attenuator to its higest setting. Bad Cat claims its usefull in controlling volume, i find its not.
