Barber Electronics A/B/Y Box

I had Mr. Barber custom build this box for me. It is the first one of its kind. I am the only one who was ever willing to pay what is costs to have an A/B/Y box that is done properly. It used very expensive Jensen transformers. David put 3 LED's in the unit to inicate which amp is on or which amp will be on when the Y function is disengaged. It has two switches one to switch between amps and one to engage the Y function.

This box is absolutely silent and in no way affects your tone. What goes in is what comes out, which is the way it should be. By using transformers and other high quality parts, the signal's impedence remains the same and its strength is unchanged for each amp. This is unlike a Y cord or a cheaper A/B/Y box like the Whirlwind or Rapco.

I have a Burn Unit with which I have gigged extensively and have never had any trouble. Well, the original switch went bad and I sent it back and David replaced the old switch with a new Fulltone switch. But as far as the pedal being noisy or not functioning properly, never had a lick of trouble with it. The new switch is larger and has a very positive click. There was no charge for the repair. I would expect the same from this pedal. I have skipped a numerical rating at this time as I just got it and it is too early to tell.

Dave is a first rate guy. He is really passionate about what he does and will do whatever it takes to make YOU happy, though I do get lost in the engineering lectures. This guy really knows his stuff.

I am a high-end audio enthusiast and I know that to do things properly, with regards to retaining audio fidelity of a signal, is not cheap. If you are going to spend the kind of money it costs to have hand made PTP boutique amps and custom made guitars and then you should be comfortable spending three hundred bucks for a properly done A/B/Y box. The difference is night and day compared to the Whirlwind or any other hundred dollar mass produced box.
