very easy to use, just loop one or more effects, super great because you can blend in your dry signal to suite your taste. same with the feedback, just dial in the amount. far more straight foreward and useable than several other feedback loopers. very smart to have a looper with clean blend as well as a feedback loop on one pedal.

Sound Quality : 9
well sounds as good as what you are looping. i will say the unit is very quiet, the feedback part is very cool and useable, can be over the top, yet it doesen't have to be. i find it to be a bit more controlable than my tbd. dialed just right, i can let things get out of hand with the feed back loop, yet hit a note and bring things right back. the blend control on the loop side can breath some stability into harsh or overly tiney by adding an amount of your dry signal into the mix.

Reliability : 9
seems rather solid

i play bass. i like to make my bass vibrate my house till things fall off the walls and people convulse on the floor, frothing. this pedal is great for bass if for nothig else than the blend control, so i can use any pedal and keep my low balls. i like to freak out, so the feedback part is an added bonus for craziness. i'm a big fan of this unit, mind you i also have a e 13 tba, and a dba tsa; both similar units. i like both of those as well, yet this thing is just a bit more of a tool, makes a little more sense. the tba is cool with it's eye and crazy fuzz, just not as practical. the death by audio tsa has the nice feature of bypassing itself without bypassing the effects yet it doesn't have the mixed loop funtion. they are all cool, but i find myself useinf this pedal more often than the others

It can be a bit confusing at first. It's got several functions for the price of a pedal with one function.

It's true that the buffer is almost totally transparent. The unit uses two $5 chips that are better than what you might find in your stereo equipment. The feedback part is really cool. I've tried it with envelope/autowahs, phasers, and my overdrive/dist effects. It works great with digital effects. You can get subtle amounts of feedback of squealing demons of it.

The main reason I submitted a report is that the quality is stunning! These folks can't be making much money on these initial prices. The PCB is fantastic. No solder traces. The best components available. Not just top shelf but the best. Most effects will have one or two cheap components. Not these. It's better quality than most big companies. I can't wait to see what else they release!

I ordered a custom compressor with MXR specs and they did it fast and kindly. No remarks about how the ROSS design is far superior to the MXR. Quick to reply to emails!

I like experimental music like Pere Ubu, the Books. I was going to buy a cheaper feedback looper on the market but when I recieved my RC-1 I was convinced that this company made quality stuff an I couldn't go wrong at this price!

Not bad, no manual needed, just a little creativity on your part for ways to hook up your pedals (read on)

Superb buffered signal here. It's almost imperceptible, on par with the Klon's buffer for what it's worth. Except the ability to bypass is way cooler. You want the buffer? Keep the blend knob down on full dry and you'll keep the loop out. I just wanted to submit a review for this unit because it has merits. I have had it for a few weeks, and I still need to experiment, but here is one of the coolest features:

The blend knob will take any 2 signals, say from your guitar to a Y-splitter, and put any effects you like on each branch. Then you can send 1 to the regular in, and the other to the loop's receive (ie. nothing in the send). Instant blending of your favorite effects!
Anyway, switching is also possible because of this feature. This makes for a much more usable gadjet than advertised.

The best feature for me so far has been the ability to control my Zvex Fuzz Factory, which loves to be brash and wild to the point being nearly unusable live (for me anyway, I play "normal" styles of music YMMV). The volume spikes and feedback get blended with the dry guitar tone, and you can switch in & out as desired. It doesn't sound like much, but it helps alot. Obviously you can bypass your effects completely, and this would help if you have alot of cable. Dead quiet operation too.

Looks beautifully built inside. Really.

I got prompt email from Geoff Bryant when I had questions. Nice guy.

I think this is a tool that could help alot of people get the sounds in their head. If you have been on the never-ending overdrive search, this thing might help some. Get added clarity while maintaining the thick/harmonic gain structure of your favorite units. I had one good setup this morning with guitar into VFB-2, and in the loop: FK-1 compressor>FF>Varidrive>back to VFB-2. That allowed me to set up any noisy crazy feedbacking sound I wanted and only take as much as I like with the blend knob. Oh and the unit doesn't cost a whole lot either.
