very easy to use. simple knobs and just some tweaking to get the desired bass sound.
the manual is little paper that describe the knobs. no really need to read it.

the sound is very good. i can get real strong ballsy distortion bass sound with lot of power. the guitar players should hide at the shelter...
i can get sounds that reminds things from rage against the machine to deep purple to metallica and more hard rock or alternative music.
i play Rickenbacker 4003 bass and gallien Krueger 400rb bass amp with Laney 15 inch cab. i use more effect (octaver, chorus, envelope filter and delay) all stores at arion effects case and power supply - with no problems at all.

i feel i can depend it. i don't step aggressively on pedals and i don't jump like an angry beast at the stage.. i act sensitivity with my gear. but i would like to see metal box instead of plastic. but that make the pedal much expensive.

i play lot of styles but with this effect i play alternative indie rock. the pedal does it perfectly what it should do, and do it good.
i play for 17 years. i own Rickenbacker 4003, Warwick streamer fretless and jay turser Beatles bass. and GK 400 RB amp and some effects, line 6 bass pod and home personal project studio.
if it get lost or damaged i will buy another, or depend on the budget, i can try another units..
i love the sound of it and ease of use. i don't like the plastic box to much. but the purple color is awesome. the favorite feature is the balance knob that let you mix the dry signal and the wet effected signal and that let the bass still sound and no get lost at the distortion.
i had searched for long time after good bass overdrive unit.
i wasn't able to get the boss odb3 at my country.
the bass pod which i have have some good overdrive sound but have his own limitations. i like single pedals more.
there are some very expensive bass over drive pedals
and of course it is very cheap. the value for money is great.

It's almost a pleasure to manipulate the sounds with this little box. And it was a surprise that every knob did what they say... not like some pro Trace Elliot heads where "high boost" don't mean anything but "crapy attack on strings kinda sound". The manual is really useful for begginers, but it is not absolutly necessary. Only tricky thing is the battery place... i'm sure i'll forget carrying ballpens to a gig!! XD

This is when i couldn't believe the price i've paid. I plugged the purplish thingy and my amp became alive. I managed in a few minutes to get Muse-like sounds and, my lattest discovery, crancking up the gain with just a little "OD" to get a very vintage sound, almost Zeppelinesque. Never sucked bass or frequence. I use it with a Schecter Diamond Series Custom 4 with DR high beam strings, and get really clear bass melodies with an awful power to it. I REALLY RECOMMEND USING IT WITH THE FENDER BXR 100 COMBO - simply the best bass amp ever. The BOD100 and the amp really makes my life easier at had-stoner-rock. Only problem is the high knob... almost superfluous.

This is where this thing really fails. But, for the price, one cannot ask for much. The case is plastic, and although it looks fairly sturdy, i wouldn't step on it too hard. In a gig i would probably let it on and never switch it off, as far of my feet as possible. But, like someone already said, there'd be absolutely no reason not to buy another if broken or lost.

I've never contacted the company yet, so i couldn't really say. Some friend of mine, though, uses a lot of Behringer stuf in his professional studio, and he tells me they respond fairly good, even when we live in Chile. Then again, I've never had contact with the german fella's.

Like i've said, the BOD100 was a very nice surprise for me. I play in a very stoner hard-rock oriented band, and the control that one haves over the amount of overdrive, considering the inexistent loss of bass, makes my life and overall playing a lot easier. It almost screams when in maximun OD, and the independent level/gain controls are really a genius feature. I have a great sound wall using it with my old Fender BXR. If you're into a fat-but-melodic kinda bass sound, this is a very cheap and good machine. I bet the manufacturer will soon put a metal case to it and take the Boss's stuff in real jeopardy. Hope so... I really fear the thing will explode under my feet sometimes.

This pedal is really easy to use, it's easy to get a good sound out of it if you just have a good mess about with all the knobs, which to be honest aren't hard to figure out. There was a small manual with it, but to be honest i didn't need it. As the other reviewer said, it did take me a while to figure out where the battery went!

I got some really nice sounds out of this, from a nice warm tube sound to a really harsh sound that wasn't far off a guitar. I was trying to get a sort of metallica anaesthesia sound, i didn't get it but i did get pre-occupied with the rest of it's potential. With this i was using a jay turser musicman style bass with a morley bass wah, a digitech BP50 multi FX pedal and a behringer ultrabass BX1200 120W bass amp. The digitech pedal complimented it really well because mixed with the sound of the two it gave some really interesting combinations. Although it didn't sound to great with a wah to be honest, maybe if the level of the wah was fairly low then it might sound ok. To me it gave off a really good overall sound for the price.

I know Behringer to be fairly reliable as i have owned an amp of theirs for almost a year now, it's not long but it's not had anything go wrong yet. I also know a few people with their products that are still working fine. Although the case is made of plastic, which is a little worrying because any heavy use or heavy foot actions may cause some damage, while using it, it doesn't feel particularly sturdy.

I'm a metal/rock/funk bassist, and to me this really stood out, it gave me some really good sounds, from the red hot chilis to an audioslave sound and could be used for a lot of different stles. I've only been playing for about 20 months now, but i do know my stuff, and this seemed really good to me, an absolute bargain. If it was lost or stolen i would DEFINATELY go out and buy another, no doubt about it, for how much you pay for it there's no point in not. I haven't really had much of a chance to compare it to other products apart from my digitech multi FX, and this absolutely puts it's overdrive settings to shame.

Comes with a short one page manual - and that's all you need. I am a technophobe and hate "editing patches". This thing has all-analog knobs and a two year old could figure them out.

I am not fond of bass effects at all. However, in the band I am currently in we play blues, as a trio, and I do the guitar part of Elmore James' "Shake Your Money Maker". I thought it would sound good with some old tube style distortion so I figured "For twenty bucks, if I don't like this pedal I can throw it away". Well - it turns out I DO like this pedal - it sounds great!
All it does is add distortion. You can blend the clean sound with the distorted sound. There are treble and bass knobs but I think they are superfluous. You can dial in the distortion from a slight tube crunch to almost a fuzz pedal.
I am using it with an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 5 bass, Joemeek compressor and SWR Workingman's 400 amp, two Trace Elliot 1 x 15" cabs.

Behringer stuff is not built like a tank - but I have about 5 pieces of Behringer gear and none has ever failed me - unlike my $500 Sennheiser made-in-Germany wireless bodypack which is in the shop for it's SECOND failure.....
I don't need the distortion so I don't need a backup

I play all styles, my favorites are reggae and punk. Have been playing 42 years. Own too much gear for my own good. If this were lost for twenty bucks I'd buy another. Behringer is going to put the "big name" manufacturers out of business if they don't start charging reasonable prices for their products and providing real customer support.

This pedal is easy to use. Just turn the knobs until you find a sound you like. Editing couldn't be easier, as this is a pretty basic stomp box. There are knobs for Level, Bass, Treble, Gain and Dry/Wet mix, so despite being simple you have a lot of control over the sound. The manual tells you more or less what you need to know. The most tricky thing at first was figuring out how to change the batteries.

First of all, i bought this pedal for use with my analogue synthesizers rather than guitars, so this description is a bit synth-centered. Specifically i purchased it with a Novation Bass Station in mind. I have a couple of other guitar distortion/overdrive pedals, but none of them sounded quite right for synthesizer bass or provided enough flexibility.
Being an overdrive pedal, this was noisy on high Gain settings, but otherwise not overly noisy. I use it with batteries, so using an AC adapter may of course make it a bit more prone to producing noise. While this may sound a bit over-enthusiastic, with the synthesizer i use, this pedal actually always manages to sound good. Acid basslines are a cinch.

The stomp box is plastic, which is never entirely reassuring. While it seems reasonably sturdy, i've heard accounts of these boxes breaking after heavy use. The knobs don't seem very reliable either, but i haven't experienced any problems there yet. This is perhaps where the difference in price is most evident

I've been very unimpressed by behringer support. The times i've been in contact with them, they've just refered me to my dealer.

I play electronic music, perhaps best described as experimental. I've been actively playing for maybe 7 years now, and experimenting with stomp boxes to complement the sound. If this pedal was stolen, lost or broken - i wouldn't hesitate to get another one. At the price, there's no reason not to. The price is something i love about it. It's cheaper than actually getting something second hand.
After previously having bought the awful (i can find no better way to describe it) Behringer UC100 Ultra Chorus i didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the BOD100 was everything i hoped it would be. Again, price had a lot to do with my decision to get this pedal.
This pedal is recommended by Behringer for both Bass and Keyboard use and i wholeheartedly recommend this pedal to anyone using an analogue synthesizer for bass. I imagine it wouldn't be too bad for bass guitar either, but someone else will have to verify that.
