It was easy to get an acceptable sound out of it but it takes a wile to really figure it out and set a good sound.
The manual is pretty minimal but there isn't really much to explain.
Changing battery is a unnecessarily hard task, the 7 is because of that
Overall easy to use

Tested it with a RBX 374, DC connected. It pushes up the higher notes but a turn of the EQ solved it, besides that...nothing to report, maybe a bit of noise with output regulated to max but that could be coming from everything, from my laptop to the transformer i was using.

I will be going to use it in an every day basis no doubt, the case is hard enough not to brake at the slightest distraction

Never used it but the few contacts I had with the support team makes me expect the best of it.

Relation quality price is a BIG thumbs up for the DC9, if you are not a pro and/or you just don't have the money for something a lot better, this is the one to get.

2 knobs - Output & Sensitivity. Easy just plug in play. I don't use batteries so acces is no issue for me.

Sounds great. I don't agree with others here about the Sensitivty knob giving more compression at lower settings. I dime my Sensitivity knob and have the Output on just over half and there is a good dose of squash going on. When the Sensitivty is set low the signal is harsher and less squashed - although some compression is still present.
This unit doesn't suck your highs at all in fact it boosts them a bit and gives you a nice musical jangle. I use it for all my clean sounds now. It gives me a nice equalising effect bewteen double stops, triads, single notes and full chords. And it does country and funk riffs very well. I've tried it with distortion and it could be used as a lead booster or just to add some extra harmonic zing to your sound. I prefer for clean tones though as my distorted sounds has a healthy amount of natural compression anyway.
The unit isn't a real true bypass but it's by no means a tone sucker.
Overall a great sounding pedal for a low price.

I need compression for my playing style but most units are very overpriced for such a subtle effect. This unit delivers usable sounds at a very low cost to the buyer. This is the 2nd Behringer pedal I've bought and I'm very suprised by how good they actually are. I'd consider buying other Behringer products in the future based on my recent experiences. This is a great compressor and I'm very happy with it - it's almost never off when I play clean parts.

Easy, but I completely agree with the previous review by Giorgio - the sensitivity knob works in the opposite way as described in the manual. So -1 for the manual. And another -1 for difficult access to the battery compartment - you have to remove four screws and open the whole thing. I use it with an adaptor anyway.

I again agree with the previous review - don't know how this has not been mentioned by the other reviewers. It is virtually noiseless, but robs low frequencies, resulting in a tight and punchy, sparkly sound, good for funk. I like it, but it is by no means trasnparent or neutral.

It is a nice compressor, it is useful to actually change the tone of the guitar a little bit, for variation. It adds treble and removes bass but it has a nice musicality. Look elsewhere if you want a permanent compression that leaves your tone intact. I have an EBS multicomp and that one is far more neutral, although it has less "soul" as well. For the price, a nice device to try out if you're into compressors.

It has two knobs, output and sensitivity. The manual says that the more you increase sensitivity, the more you increase the compression but it is the opposite, to increase the amount of compression you have to turn the sensitivity knob anti-clockwise. Before I figured this out I thought the pedal was rubbish. The output knob just changes the volume. So once you figure out the sensitivity control it is very easy to use. Also has true bypass.

I play with a standard Strat. It seems to add a lot of treble and this sounded really harsh so I turned the treble down on my amp (an old Fender Bassman Ten) and it sounded fine. I tried it before and after a Boss OD-3 overdrive and I thought it sounded better after. I have never used any other compressors so I can't compare it to anything else but i would say it's certainly not bad. You can really compress the signal a lot if you want to.

It's in what seems to be a good solid metal case unlike most Behringer effects. It seems reliable enough, I haven't had it long so can't really say but I would gig without a backup.

I play in two bands, one is electro disco and i play clean guitar. In that the compressor is really good for keeping the guitar sounding tight next to synths and drum machines, for this i set the output at about 2 o'clock and the sensitivity at about 9 o'clock. I also play in a sort of over-the-top eighties rock band, sounds kind of like the Topgun soundtrack. The compressor is also really good for everything in that especially for sustain in the solos, it put it after a Boss OD-3 and a homemade distortion. If it were stolen or lost I would buy it again because it is really cheap and seems to be well made. Im sure there are better compressors but for the money this does the job. It could do with a tone knob.

This one's pretty much a no brainer. 2 Knobs. Output/Sensitivity. Real easy to get a good squash out of with lots of sustain when you want it. Light settings give you a nice crisp sound.

Virtually noiseless until you get to around 2 or 3:00 on the sensitivity knob, but show me a hard-knee comp that doesn't get a little noisy when in a high setting. Nice chunky attack and sustain. Excellent sound quality on the Behringer.
Doesn't seem to suck any tone from the rig, so I'd say the wiring's done nicely.I've got a BBE Opto Stomp in the chain as well, but it's a different animal altogether(soft knee:transparent).I'm playing various guitars(Fender, PRS, Ibanez) Through a 68 Fender Super Reverb with a multitude of other pedals.

The on/off switch is a little different from others I have that have the same style switch....no "click" when you stomp on it. Different, but so far so good. No complaints. Metal case, so it should take a beating. I wouldn't worry about having a backup...the loss of a true bypass comp could never be the end of the world lol.

I play mostly Rock and Blues, and it suits me perfectly for what I use it for. I use it sparingly anyway, but it's a great pedal. It's possible this "DYNA"mics "COMP"ressor could have been modelled after some other classic compressor....but who knows lol. I'd probably get another one if it were lost or stolen, as long as I could get another one for $28 US plus shipping($9)new. Msrp: $54.95 CDN

Very easy to use compressor. Only 2 knobs. One controls volume, one compression and sustain. The more compressed, the more sustain. Simple as anything. It has 2 regular jacks, a very bright blue status light, a DC power input and a 9v battery snap on the inside.
Its score relates to the fact there are compressors out there with more features. Also, you have to use a screw driver to get to battery snap so not very stage practical. However, its a clone of the popular the MXR dyna comp ( though its a little tiny bit bigger in every dimension) with similar features. These features haven't stopped the MXR pedal being popular, don't know why it should hold this back.

I listen to a varied list of rock and metal. So far I have only been jamming this with a telecaster into either a synthwah or a fuzz factory clone into a peavey valveking.
I got this pedal to help smooth out my irrational playing where I tend to mix between between single notes and chords. I also hoped it would add sustain and act as a volume limiter for my synthwah (which raises volume when on)
So far I am very impressed. Output knob does as is supposed to limiting volume and does so smoothly. When the pedal is put after my synthwah it does the job nicely of limiting volume. It can also be used to boost volume as well
As for the compression knob, this is very good too. It can do everything from a little compression to over the top, where chords come out quieter than single notes. I've tried the pedal before and after the fuzz in my signal chain and I have to say I prefer it before. It adds great sustain on a 75% setting but too much can make the sustain sound a little unnatural.
With the compression and volume knobs on full there is some noise. This may however have been because I was using a power supply, but I've heard this setting introduces noise with many compressors. Bypassed I've noticed no tone sapping.
Not tried the mxr dyna comp so can't compare soundwise, but theres no clicking sounds that many dynacomp users mention. Im happy with the sound though
I wouldn't mind a few extra controls but as this is a clone of the MXR I understand this is the nature of the beast.

This is what impressed me. When I bought this I thought it was plastic due to the weight. I found actually that the case was metal. Its not as heavy as a regular mxr pedal, but by no means less robust.
The switch appears to be a dpdt until you open up the pedal. In fact it is a latching. Pots have plastic shafts and may be PCB mounted, I couldn't see. They feel strong though and knobs are made well, so it would be pretty hard to break them
Looking at the PCB and the pedal housing though there is scope for chaing this. Jacks are plastic but seem ok.
Heres the crunch. People rag on Behringer because of their build quality. Its true that in their early days quality control was touch and go. Now things are different. I own 2 behringer pedals. They have both survived over a year of bedroom and jamming use. They are plastic shelled, with worse switches and knobs. They have still survived and importantly still work well. This pedal is made far better, and would easily survive what the other pedals couldn't.
I always think for reliability "if an audience member annoyed me, what would happed if I threw a pedal at them?" Im guessing this pedal would hurt. Not as much as my crybaby, synth wah or echohead, but enough to make 'em kno to stop. Importantly though, I think this is more likely to work after doing so - certainly more so than the crybaby! Don't use it as a trampoline and it'll survive!

I've e-mailed behriger a few times, but this has always been about product release dates rather than a problem. I've never had a reply. Others have though. I think with these pedals though if its broken, its gone for good and CS won't be able to do too much.

I'm very happy with this pedal. I don't understand why I should fork out the cost of an MXR (UK price=high!)when this comes in under a third the price. It looks good (just dont watch the LED its so bright you'll go blind!), works well and importantly sounds good. Don't know how it shapes up as a direct clone to the mxr. Frankly don't care. Slightly wary about the switch but Im sure it'll be fine. Helps me out no end with the dynamics of the tele and great for sustaining solos. This will most definately keep me happy as long as I treat it well.
