I've been a guitarist for more than 30 years. In all my years, I've never seen a digital delay burn up batterie's so fast as the Behringer DD400!! Maybe it's that bright blue LED thing that blinds the heck out of me????:(( What's the purpose of having such a ridiculous bright light on a stomp box? Yea, I know, ya'll are probably asking why I'm using such a poor quality effects in all my year's playing..Well, I had a fire and lost everything (not gonna mention what all I lost) so I gave up on music for awhile, but missed it so much that I just bought some cheaper equip. To get back to the DD400, it sucks Big time! Even for a $30 pedal, I expected it to work a little better. I just play in my Apt. now, and not picky, but this thing's a joke! The flashing LED is a flaw, remind's me of a club strobe in the dark, and hide's all the controls in dim lighting and give's a hell of a headache! It hiss's like a dam Bull Snake and really takes the integrity out of a good set-up. One more thing I'll add on the positive side: I read about several people complaining about the 'Hold' not working, just put it in the 'Hold' position and hold down the pedal and play a quick riff, then release the peadal and it'll loop forever. You get what you pay for, but I'll never even think of buying a Behringer product again!!!

WAS Easy to use... just tweaking the knobs until you are satisfied.

Sound Quality : 7
Sound Quality WAS great, very close to a Boss for a cheapie.

Reliability : 1
NOPE. A new 9 volt would be dry after 2 songs, luckily I only used it on 2 songs per gig. After using it for a total of probably ten songs in it's lifetime it just completely quit working, whether with battery or power supply. It' DEAD.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't bother... I knew of Behringer's reputation before I bought it. There is a reason why they are so inexpensive. I chalked it up to a loss of $30.

I learned my lesson never to by a Behringer product again. I don't stomp heavy and don't spill drinks on my gear, and it still died. I'd actually given this pedal special care because its' cheap PLASTIC casing and I knew I couldn't stomp it as if it weren't a "toy" effects box. Not a recommended piece of equipment.

The "Hold" feature is non-operational......just silence. However, you can get a repeat function on other settings of the same knob. Unfortunately this feature isn't much use as later things you play keep adding to it, ending up with a distorted chaotic mess. There's no control to by-pass the effect and keep playing the original loop. You have either everything, or nothing. If you back off the level knob, you don't have any live input. It needs a by pass feature that will keep playing the original repeat. Otherwise quite user-friendly.

Sound Quality : 5
I'm using this into a combi amp with saxophone & flute on radio mics. Sound quality is only average, but not too much hiss. The effects a good, apart from a non-operational "Hold" setting. I'm using it with a Gear4Music 35 W amp.

Reliability : 2
Upon removing it from the packet I discovered a pile of problems -
a. The power light continuously flashed on and off.
b. The power socket would not grip the adaptor jack which made it keep crackling.
c. The "Hold" facility doesn't work...... just silence.
d. There's no "Rhythm tap-in" as claimed by some reviewers, although it isn't mentioned anywhere of the blurb anyway.
Not sure if I can depend on it, but I've replace the power cord socket with a decent one. I'll be using it on a gig, but if it packs up it will be tossed in the venue's bin.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The sellers seem helpful, but being an electronics Engineer I fixed most of the problems myself....... but I shouldn't have had to with a brand new unit.

Overall Rating : 3
A pretty shoddy bit of kit all in all.
I wouldn't purchase anything in future with a Behringer label on it.

Look at the knobs and spin the controls untill your satisfied. not to hard if you know the sound you want to hear.

Sound Quality : 4
it will definately play back the delay, and give you the sound of a snake going through your pa. this thing hisses when engaged.

Reliability : 5
bought super cheap on the bay, and i can tell it will be a few more stomps before the foot switch stops working. seems to have poor contacts inside that when you step on it some times it wants to work, and other times not so much.

Customer Support : 6
i have dealt with behringer over the phone. don't even bother with emails. they will work on the products, but shipping costs are just as much as the product. do the math.

Overall Rating : 6
good to play around in your room with, but i would not keep it on my pedalboard. im one for saving a few bucks but its not worth it there.

very easy to use as it should be ,operates just like a boss delay pedal on which it is closely modeled

Sound Quality : 1
ok, so here is the crux of the issue there are in my opinion two major sound quality problems. the first is that its supposed to simply repeat the sound coming into it and you can then manipulate the amount and lenght of those repetitions using the controls, but it really colours and waters down the sound and no mater how low you turn the effects control knob it is impossible to dilute what this pedal does to your tone. the secound issue is that the pedal is noisy, if you read the other reviews you'll see this seems to be the case across the line.

Reliability : No Opinion
i'm sure it won't falter in its determination to muddy my sound.

Customer Support : No Opinion
maybe i'll give them a call, the thing is the pedal was so cheap its hardly worth the hassle, i'd just hate to hear about more people getting stung on this dodgy cheap pedal

Overall Rating : No Opinion
overall i think behringer are a great company. they've really opened up the market,i have several of their products, this is my only bad experience, but i think you'd be wiser to add an extra few quid and get a better quality pedal.

It was my first foray into delay pedals after using a Boss half rack digi delay, and happily it was all very similar, no surprises, and worked quite intuitively

Sound Quality : 6
does a good job of repeating and gives you sufficient options to get a good effect. more expensive pedals give a you a little more control or max length of delay, but for a cheap pedal in an expensive market, it does a good job. it even has a jaunty hold which i didn't expect there to be. when you max out the feedback and time to get a big noise wall, it fails to impress and goes incredibly tinny. now, i don't use flash equipment, i'm a bass player in a band, but i write songs for the band on guitar. my equipment is pretty low to moderate in quality, so i didn't expect this pedal to make much difference to the sound i make through my little amp. i was impressed until i recently got a true bypass analogue delay and hooked them up together. the suddenly realised the hiss that had always been there was the pedal and not my rubbish amp. i moved things about, tried things on there own and compared the sound. with the behringer in, the hiss was so obvious next to the true bypass pedal. so basically it's a decent, cheap effect that hisses too much, so i only use it at home and use better equipment with my band.

Reliability : 6
had it a few months, nice and solid, doesn't break when dropped by accident. it does however absolutely eat batteries. it is so power hungry that it's not reliable enough to use outside the bedroom.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
i got this to experiment with my ideas, and i wanted a second delay to add to my boss half rack to layer up. it works okay clean and heavy, it delays okay, and it's good and cheap. it is however quite hissy through batteries (which seem to last about an hour in it) and power leads and because of this it does not compare favourably to other pedals that might not be too much more expensive. as i've said above, get it if you want a cheap jam pedal to play around with, but don't get it if you want a solid work horse. pay a bit more and you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

This is my first digital delay so it took me some time to get it right how to get a tone I like but it would be much easier if the manual is more detailed. It has 4 pots, LEVEL( like volume), FEEDBACK( amount of signal repetitions), TIME( delay time) and MODE( with 4 mods 200,500,1300 ms and Hold either for mono or stereo delay). In Hold position signal will be repeted constantly( you step on the pedal, play some short fraze than relase it and than it will be repeted foreever:)

Sound Quality : 8
I have yamaha pac 112, marshall JH-1 dist, ED-1 compressor, Cry Baby classic wah and amp Vox pathfinder 15r. DD 400 in most times work fine and makes no hum. BUT when it's on and I twisting the pots they makes a hum which get into the signal and make some buzz. I bought it mostly for Pink Floyd, U2 stuff and I can get satisfied sound for my setup

Reliability : 7
well it's plastic, but switch On/off is very sensitve so you don't need to step on it very hard and affraid to brek. If I have regular giggs a probbly buy some metal case pedal, but I use it only at home so there is no need fore anything better

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I think that's really good deal for the price.
What I hate about this pedal from the very first moment I switched on, is blue LED that's so bright that when U R in a dark room U can't see pots on pedal. It's really horible, so I stick on some dark tape and now it's OK.

First thought when i got this is, ok it made of plastic but i dont stomp on my pedals very hard so im ok with it. I tried putting some velcro on the back over the sticker, mistake cuase it just ripped off, then tried putting some on the rubber and the whole rubber back came off, i did put some on the plastic on the back and it hasnt come off and i dont think it will so **If you are going to use velcro just take off the rubber on the back of the pedal**

Other than that the controls are very simple to use.

My Gear:
Fender Strat (MIM)
Peavey practice amp (15 watts)
Crate Flexwave Full Stack (at practice/gigs)
Pedalboard includes...(in order from left to right)
MXR micro amp (boost) - Behringer Delay - Boss Blues Driver - Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octave Fuzz - Dunlop Univibe - Vox Wah

It does add some hum when you turn it on but its nothing that can cuase any bad sounds, delay sounds great, still trying to figure out where to place it in my effects chain, it think last place (first pedal on the left, connected to amp then to effects) would be best.

Reliability : 9
As long as you dont stomp very hard on your pedals or throw it around it should be fine...**If using velcro take off the rubber on the back to save time and velcro**

Never had to deal with company...cheap pedals, if they break, get new ones.

I play Blues/Psychedelic/Classic Rock/60s Style...Hendrix, Floyd, The Doors, Cream, Grateful Dead, Santana...I've been playing for 3 years maybe and i've had my share of gear. I would Reccomend this pedal to anyone unless they want something sturdyer then i would reccomend Boss DD-3 or digitech delay, i've had the digidelay and its a great pedal too. It adds space and echoes to your music...need i say more?

Easy to use delay pedal, but directions could have been better.

Sound Quality : 5
Decent sound.. For the price. I mean the delay is perfect but the pedal itself is pretty noisy. In my pedal board, there was no hum until I added this pedal and now there is a slight hum. But I mean, it's hardly noticeable. Plus, once I switch this pedal on, there is a slight treble increase. Again, it's not very noticable. Good sound for the price overall.

Reliability : No Opinion
Made out of plastic, but for 30 bucks. Just don't throw it down your steps, its not a boss or marshall.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
Good pedal overall... A little noisy thats all. If you are just beginning to add pedals to your board, then hey give this one a shot. Has all the delay you need. Just a small small hum and little treble increase.

I don't like the time adjustment. There are no labeled increments on the time adjustment so you have to go by ear. I don't like the intensity of the blue LED. It blinds me when I'm trying to adjust the pedal. This is my first DD pedal.

Sound Quality : 8
I just bought a slew of Behringer gear. 5 Pedals, V Amp Pro, and direct box's. The DD 400 is fairly quiet until I drive it with a distortion pedal. Again this is my first DD. For the price it is definitely good enough for a beginner to intermediate player. People complain about Behringer pedals coloring there sound in stand by mode. If it's being tainted in standby mode I can't tell. I'm playing a Hamer Artist USA and Fender Strat USA through 7 pedals into a Peavey Classic 100W tube head and it sounds decent to me.

Reliability : No Opinion
NA, It's a China product if it breaks through it away and buy another one.

Behringer has a web site with all there products. I think manuals are down loadable. However the manuals don't tell you anything the knobs don't already say.

Overall Rating : 8
The manual says it draws 90 mA. I measured mine and it draws 75 mA. I'm using an external power supply on all my pedals. My pedals are Ibanez Compressor/Sus, Behringer BO 100 Blues Overdrive, Behringer TO 100 Tube Overdrive, Behringer TO 800 Vintage Tube Overdrive, Behringer OD 100 Overdrive Distortion, DOD FX 68 Chorus, Behringer DD 400 Digital Delay. Pedals are not rocket science. Most are a simple OP Amp operation. The only thing I don't like is the plastic housing and the Made in China sticker. If you can get over that, my Behringer pedal line is pretty decent!

Four Knobs: Level, feedback, Time, and Mode. You can choose between 7 modes: 200ms,500ms, 1300ms in mono or the same in stereo plus a 1 second
"Hold" function which allows you to make a short loop.

one page manual with very few informations.

This model is the more recent version of the DD100

Provided you have a minimum knowledge about delay, very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
It's a digital delay, meaning you get an exact reproduction of the sound, plus I find it completely transparent.

I use it in the FX loop of my JCM900 with either an ibanez RG270 or a gibson SG with either a boss MT-2, or a behringer TO800 or a boss DS-1 in front, and it works like a charm.I bought this unit to finally enter the 21st century and add that subtle delay to get that wide, professional, modern sound.

I have tried a boss DD-3 which has a few more features but for just a delay I couldn't make the difference.

Reliability : 7
I've been using it for only two months now but the plastic seems to be resisatnt enough, however as on all beheringer pedal the switch is subtle so you have to be careful if you jump around on stage.

I would use it without a backup since it hasn't failed me so far.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had a problem with it so I don't know about the customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
I bought this thing for 17euros(23dollars)new and I would recommand trying it before buying the "original" DD-3 which is ten times more expensive.

Amazing value for the money.
