This is the brand that people love to hate, but you know what, this is a great pedal. I don't mean it's great for the money, but great period. I compared it side to side with Boss, and some fairly pricey rack gear. The DR400 is quiet, the delays are good, and the reverb is, if anything, a bit too wet. Does Behringer need to work on its quality control? Yes. Is this pedal worth adding to your rig? Yes. I especially like that it combines delay and verb. I don't like a huge chain of pedals going into my amp, and this one does what two would ordinarily do.

Tweaking the pedal is reasonably straightforward (the "manual" is one page of obvious information). Here's one drawback: at a lot of the low settings on the first 3 knobs, you'll really not notice much difference. It's as if the effect doesn't really come on until 3 or 4 on the sweep of the pot. I could deal with that, but I can see where some might not. The combined settings for delay and reverb could have been a bit more adjustable; if you select those settings, you can adjust the parameters for reverb, but not delay.

Setting those issues aside, it's very usable, and sounds a lot more pricey than it is.

Strat or tele only, going into a SS amp sometimes and a tube (musicman) in other cases.

very quiet. You can make it oscilate if you max out the knobs, but that's what it's supposed to do, in a way.

I didn't notice a huge change in the 'Tone' control. I don't like that, and you shouldn't either. Behringer should either give you real control over the tone or stop labelling one of the controls that way. The Balance control is also kind of iffy. It does control the effect level, but you really have to adjust it in relation to the other two controls. In other words, the Balance control is not the only way to determine how much Del/Verb is added to your signal. Not something I liked either, but it's easy enough to figure out how to get what you want. The result is not a one-knob solution, but is it really a hassle to have to adjust two knobs instead of 1? I say no.

It's plastic, and I am still wondering what Behringer was thinking making it pop open at the hinge, using a ballpoint pen. I shouldnt have to play MacGiver to change the battery. NOt a big deal for me, since I only use power supplies, but I can see hwere a gigging musician might hate it.

I play instrumental country/rock. This is a good choice for those who don't want a lot of color to their tone, and want the amp to shine through. Very transparent, and even with the power supply it's quiet.

It has a cool Tap feature, but those are always over my head, so I can't say how well it works. One thing that I do like is that it doesn't have any physical indents as you switch the patches. You just hear a slight digital click. That's classy if you ask me.

Do I love it? I guess so. I like it enough that I haven't really even had to devote much time messing with knobs to get "my" sound. It took maybe 3-5 minutes to really put it through its paces. Knobs haven't been adjusted since.

this delay pedal is cheap, got a lemon. made of cheap plastic, not metal. the pedal has a life of it's own. when you press on the pedal it turns on, then turns off after a few seconds. then, back on. plus, it gives a popping/clicking sound... can't use it at all to practice, and defintely won't use it to gig.

If you have used BOSS pedals, then this pedal should be no problem to use.
All the control knobs, and ins and outs are obvious in their function.

I use a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet pedal and this Behringer DR400 as my delay pedal. I have Fender Deluxe reverb Amp, and a Strat and Tele mainly.
I bought the DR400 to replace the delay function of a favorite old BOSS ME5 effects unit that finally got too unreliable from years of abuse. To be honest, the Behringer DR400 sounds much better than that old unit, and is comparable to a much more expensive BOSS delay at a fraction of the price. The delays are full in tone, the reverb is deep., and I can get all the delay/ reverb effects I need.
I don't think it is much noisier than other pedals, butt I use single coil pickups, so I don't mind a bit of noise.

My friend uses a couple of Behringer pedals in his rack, and he gigs regularly with no reliabilty issues from the pedals. I will use mine with no backup I expect, as I treat my gear gently.

I play old school rock, rockabilly, country, blues and have done so since 1971. I use minimal gear..just a Strat and Tele and occasional Gibson, a Fender Deluxe Reverb or Laney VC30 amp depending on the tones I need (Fender big bright and clear..for rockabilly and country rock, and the Laney.. warm and smooth for blues and old rock)
I wanted a quick fix for my delay footpedal duties and I couldn't resist the value for money of the Behringer DR400. So far so good.
