The switches on the top of this unit are very useful. That is, if you can get to them. But compared to the module-based AP Audio patchbay I have, they are a lot easier.

There is audio bleed between channels. This is really unacceptable for professional recording purposes, but for other uses, it doesn't matter so much. This cross-talk is easily drowned out, but that doesn't change the fact that it is reducing the quality on some level. Since this is really the only purpose of a patch bay, this gives this unit pretty low marks in my book, even though I use it a lot.

Behringer has a reputation for wearing out over time. I've not had any problems with this piece so far, but I wonder about the quality of the jacks. My rating is based solely on my personal concerns.

I would buy a different patch bay if you intend to include it in a signal that will be recorded. For live purposes, it's fine - the audio issues it can create are not going to matter. With patch bays, paying more for better jacks is WORTH IT.

I give it a 9 because Behringer has a bad habbit of assuming that the user knows exactly how a patchbay should work. Other than that, it's a cinch. Plus, I love the switches they have on the top of the unit. That's a big reason why I went with Behringer over the other brands.

I use it for a 16 track ADAT XT-20 studio, and I have never heard any bleed through on any of the channels.

I like the sturdy plugs. As with most patchbays, just don't throw it down the stairs.

Guitar center just blew these things out at $.99 a piece last Memorial Day. THAT'S RIGHT $.99. I couldn't believe it. I already was using 2 of them in my studio, so I had to grab as many of them as I could. I was only able to snake 2 because of the general mayhem around them. It was worse than a clearance sale at K-Mart. In any case, these are awesome. At normal price of $39 on-line, they are well worth the money and then some.
(ps. I can't believe that people pay over 50 bucks for these things used on EBAY. Chumps!)

It's a patch bay. It's easy to use if you know patch bays. I really like the selectable normalization (half normal, parallel, etc) on each channel. On Re'an patch bays you must remove and reseat a card to change this setting. On the Behringer it's a simple flip of a switch. I like that.

Great for unbalanced gear. I've never heard any noise or crosstalk between connections.

I have three of these and I've never had any problems with the units themselves. The jacks are a little loose, however, and I have had problems with the back connections "falling out." I've only had this problem with the large heavy snakes coming from the board. Therefore I use a Re'an patch bay for those connections and then Behringers for everything else.

We record lots of different music in our studio, and these units are very reliable. If I need more patch points, I'd probably buy another.

Very easy to use. I'd never used a patch bay before, but this one has the diagrams for each input right next to the switches to configure them. Doesn't get much easier than that.

I've noticed no additional noise in my system since I installed this unit.

The inputs in front are very solid. The inputs in the back move around a little bit which and can lose connection if you there is strain on the cables. Fortunately, its the connections in front that will get the most use when rerouting so its not that big of deal. I'm not sure why the jacks in rear don't have the same mountings as the ones in front.

Euro-type Techno dance mostly. I like this unit alot because it keeps me from changing cables around inside my rack. With a 26 space rack and way too many cables, I don't like digging around in there. I've seen other patch bays for more money that give you much less - although the greedy salesperson will try tell you how much better they are because they're made by prestigious companies (that make other overpriced equipment). If it failed, I would just drop another $59 bucks and get another one.

It's very easy to use(takes a little bit to get your head around, setting it up and using it for other applications, think flow charts), the 4 way normaling on each point is very convienient. I wanted a patchbay to bring ALL my audio outs from my equipment and my mixer to somewhere i could get at easily. It does this very nicely, just budget a lot for double the cabling.

I've found over time that one, it picked up alot of hum until i grounded it, two...it Bleeds quite a bit of audio from an instrument out to an adajacent mixer in (not good) when nothing is patched. It's not so bad though.

This thing is built very ruggedly, 1/4" plugs feel nice and snug plugging into the unit. I don't gig, but i could forsee dropping it a few times and or backing a small car over it without much problems (haven't taken a lot at the internals, though i may if i start to have problems, i'll then see the quality of it. which i'm mildly curious about)

Overall it's probobly the best buy in it's field. 48 patch points, 4 way switchable normaling all for only 59 dollars. Most other patchbays i was looking at were up into the 150 dollar range and most didn't offer switches for changing the normaling.

Couldn't be simpler! Plug in your stuff at the back, select the mode, and patch on!
It has 24 channel pairs, wich mean you can connect 48 channels. You can choose between four modes, parallel, half normalized, normalized and open, for each of the 24 channel pairs, and you sleect as the flick of a switch, while many other patch bays wants you to solder stuff (a pain), or change modules (unreliable).

Does everything you ever want out of a patch bay. I bought one, and then I bough another one. I guess that answer the question if I'd buy more of them. As soon as all the holes on the two I have now are filled, I'll buy another one! I love equipment you can just chuck in and then forget about!
