Utterly idiot-proof, even if the manual could've done with giving a few sample settings. The only downer is the badly-located AC socket, which I'd rather was on the top edge of the unit.

I use Squier Strats through Page and Marshall amps, as well as a cheap Tanglewood electro-acoustic which sometimes gets in on the effects fun. It's a pretty hard effect to mess up, and this pedal performs well above it's price; I'd rank it slightly below the Boss unit that sells at #60, but the lack of outputcutting nastiness on the UT-100 is enough to put it level.
You can get everything from a "Bang Bang, My Baby Shot Me Down" shimmer to a gentle, subtle roll to what sounds like a Commodore 64 CID chip having a breakdown. Great fun.

This would be where the missing #45 would go. It's made from hardly confidence-inspiring plastic, the operation button is a very small microswitch, and the knobs don't look too sturdy. But in practise, it all holds together and nothing looks like it'll come flying off. I wouldn't want to jump up and down on this pedal, but for #15, I could buy three spares anyway.

Never dealt with them, and the contact details all point to Germany, so it could be an issue, but again, at #15, I'm not sure I'd try to salvage the pedal if it exploded/ melted.

If you're after a gentle blues tone, get this. If you want a Tom Morello-esque helicopter tone, get this. So, basically, if you want a trem pedal, audition this. Even if you don't, give it a shot. It's about as much inspiration you can buy for the price. A very worthwhile purchase.

Can't see how this would be hard to use.
3 knobs - Rate, Wave and Depth. Also a single in and out as well as an AC 9v power input (which is always nice to see). What can go wrong?
I'm giving it a 9 because i still thik there's room for more functuallity, like a random wave mode, reverse wave and more...

For the price, its extreeemely good. I think it beats the boss tremelo stomp. You can get a varity of sounds from it, like a gentle shimmer in the shower, to a full on, machine gun, hard cutting sound.
The main buying point for this product was volume. There was no volume drop like on some other pedals (cough-Boss), so you don't need to mod anything.
I'm using this in my pedal board of a Boss TU-2>>Boss-DS-2>>MonkeyEffects Router[route1=Electric Mistriss Flanger>>Crybaby][route2>>Guyatone MD-3]>>Boss DD-6>>Behringer UT100 and it adds no noise to the chain what-so-ever. So i give it two thumbs up.
Nothing wrong with it.

I was 1st worried about the plastic body, but then i thought "#15 - who gives a monkies."
you would be pretty suprised, when i gig i sometimes smashed my pedals (accidently - of course). Like last gig i jump off a my drummers kick drum onto my pedalboard and mainly landed on my UT100/boss-dd-6 and eveything was fine.
If there was one thing i didn't like, it was when i first got it. The "Rate" pot was, and still is loose, and its a real bugger trying to take off the back to fix it, so i'll just have to live with it.

Never dealt with them... i can imagine pre-made emails saying to rings numbers and email this department and it all goes around in one big circle.

I've been playing for 7 or 8 years and play a huge range of music, so i've got to make sure my pedal board is up for playing those genre's. The tremelo is ideal to adding a dynamical shimmer to my more post-rock, alterantive edge and thus making a more hard-hitting, impact performance. People like that apparently.
If it got stolen, i would buy another... especially at that price... and i wouldn't need to smack anyone for stealing it.
I wish the pedal had the possibilities of a stereo out, for a panner/tremelo effects... that would be sh-weet.
I am also a vegan and the UT100 helps me sleep at night!
I recommend this pedal as it is extremely good value for money and it's top of the league in the mainstream tremelo market. So suck on that Boss!

Sweet pedal for only $19. Just like the BOSS. I like it alot. Sounds bst on clean guitar. When I tried it with overdrive/distortion, it took alot of the gain out somehow. Maybe due to the on-off-on-off nature of the effect. Still, worth it to me.

Very easy! like the Boss TR-2 in which it is modelled after there are three knobs with clearly defined parameters that each controls. The three being: rate, shape and depth. With minimal patience i would hope that ANYONE could dial in a desireable sound. Full marks.

the setup
Guitar -> Digitech Synth Wah -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah -> Boss SD-1 Overdrive -> Ibanez SC10 Chorus -> Boss PS-2 Harmonizer -> Behringer UT100 Tremolo -> Boss DD-3 Delay -> Line 6 Spider 210 (set to Twang)
I have 2 main guitars, a stock Epiphone Les Paul Standard, and a Hamer Slammer Explorer outfitted with Gibson 496r and 500t pickups. So it's essentially a 1976 Explorer.
I detect no noise from this pedal, or i should say that it adds no noise to my already noisy arrangement. I do not have anything against noise, it's a natural quality of electronics. I didn't bother testing the pedal solo because there is no point. It lives with my other pedalss o i am basing my review on that setup.
Perfect tremolo it is not, but it sounds like a tremolo. my previous Trems came from a Zoom GFX707, a Pod, the trem on my amp, and a Tuna Melt. I tested the Boss TR-2 in stores but couldn't afford it. The Zoom was actually my favorite trem, the tuna melt being the single worst effect i have ever owned. Feature wise the Behringer stacks up to the TR-2. Quality wise not so much. I use this Trem for two sounds. All the knobs cranked up for hyper stuttery effects, and then the rate backed off a bit for a more pulsating tremolo. It does both good enough for me. But i can imagine that it would not quite "feel" right next to a TR-2. It seems soft or loose or something, hard to describe. But for what i use it for, i have to say i approve of it's preformance. Not perfect, but not horrible.
I'd like to note that my local music shop guy said DO NOT BUY THIS PEDAL. he said that you can hear the effect when it's turned off, it's noisy and it sucks tone. I bought it anyways because (it was $100 cheaper than the TR-2 and) i have a Master Selector pedal that was going to use in case the things he said were true. A Master Selector Pedal is like an A/B box for pedals, you can hook up separate chains or FX loops and switch between them. If the UT100 was trash like the music store guy said, then i could bypass its terror completely :) Well...his words were wrong. The first thing i did was turn my amp to full and listen...NO TREMOLO NOISE. it was off entirely when turned off. As stated before, no additonal noise to my setup. As for tone sucking the only suck i can detect is an ever so slight drop in volume when activated, but in my experience that is an attribute of Tremolo pedals anyways.
There is an occasional click when de-activating the effect.

It's not made of metal, it's "heavy duty plastic", which means it's plastic. The knobs are flimsy and loose as well, not exactly solid when you turn them. Behringer is a company that makes cheap/affordable stuff so i expected this, and if you buy any Behringer product you should expect similar issues as well. When stepping on the pedal it does feel firm under your foot. I do not jump on my pedals, so unless there are manufacturing flaws i can expect a long life from this unit.
I have used it every day for a month with no technical issues. I will give it an 8 for the cheap materials. I'd prefer a metal housing and solid dials.

I am kinda proud of this little box. it was so cheap, and it does what i want. I am somewhat leary of the materials used in construction, but i do not abuse my gear, and never let anyone irresponsible use it.
Sound wise it's good enough. It sounds like a tremolo, but if you want the sound of a TR-2 because your favorite guitarist uses one, then buy a TR-2. That applies to any pedal. For me i just wanted the Trem sound for a few songs my band plays. We're an orignal band, and i am the only guitarist. I love this pedal with my Synth Wah, check out www.purevolume.com/the92js (leaving nova scotia) for the 2 in action. That was the main reason i got the trem. I would prefer the Line 6 trem on my amp, but i can't turn it off gracefully. The other day i was jamming Geurilla Radio, which brings me back to my point about the TR-2...it is NOT a TR-2 :)
If there was one thing i'd change it would be the location of the power jack. it's on the bloody side! WTF!?!?! i can send a pic of my board and the UT100 just looks awkward because i had slide it back a couple inches to accomodate my powerall jack. Why Behringer put it on the side i will never know...but i can guess. They cut a corner on the circuit board or some interal component but not sauldering it onto the top. Just a bizarre move, i mean EVERY pedal i have ever seen (aside from the crybaby) has the jack on the top.
summary...
+ price
+ rate, shape and depth controls
- a little soft, undefined on some settings
- power jack on the side!?!?!?
- plastic...umm...everything!
Since it's a budget pedal, i can't give it honours. But my 7 is really a 7.9 :)

I use (mostly) a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Telecaster, with a DF1 distortion, OD3 overdrive and nothing else.
simple set up and i wanted a little sonic variety for a couple of songs and as it was dirt cheap, i thought: why not?
It's ok. not top of the range, but OK. slight volume drop when using it with distortion, but fine when my guitar's clean.
Don't expect boutique effects here, it's basic and a little grainy, but fun and gratifying. No noise to report, in honesty, just good sounds... a bit weak at the higher speed settings, but still fun.

it's good, simple, fun and disposable. if i find one i like better, i can upgrade, but it does the job.
as for the noise mentioned in another review... i haven't detected any, even with a loud amp, and single coils.
maybe my gear's just looked after better.

It is very easy to get a "good" sound from this pedal. There are three knobs, speed-depth-shape. The only downer here, is that battery replacement, while not difficult is sub-standard, but for $20
I guess I can live with it.

I use this pedal with a '69 thinline telecaster (w/Dimarzio pickups)into a Peavey Classic 30 with the occasional delay, wah or volume pedal thrown in. I A/B'd this pedal w/ the Danelectro tremolo pedal and I found the Behringer was cleaner and sucked the tone/volume a whole lot less when the effect was engaged.

Haven't giged w/it yet, but its made of seemingly heavy-duty plastic I don't see where it wouldn't/couldn't survive a gig. The previous reviewer stated how noisy their unit was I haven't had that experience, however I do think that the quality control in the factories where Behringer makes their equipment could be improved.

Play heavy-ish rock with a fair smattering of effects. Been playing nearly 20 years.
I only bought this as for 15 quid I thought it would be worth the risk and I don't have a tremelo box on the pedal board.
The only use I can see for this junk is if you are into making your own boxes you could scrap the innards and re-use the casing, knobs etc.
