For the price, this is a great tremolo. I've got a few of Behringer's pedals just to find out if the effect works with the music I play. This one definitely does and will hold me over until I can afford a really nice trem.

I think it sounds quite good for the money. If you compare it to a Boss TR-2, it isn't as good, but it isn't far off. If you have tons of money to spend, get a better unit, but if you want good value for the money, this is a much better deal. The sound is clean and the effect is pleasing. Again, I think it is good value for the money.

I give this a 9 because it is very good value for the money. If it were lost or stolen, or broken by my grandmother, she especially likes blowing out my speakers and breaking my E-strings, I would buy another. I think for the extra five or ten bucks that it would cost, they should put it in a metal case. But if you don't go swinging it around at the end of a cord like a mace to club non-appreciative fans, or use it with another effect at both ends of a cord as a bolo like an Argentinian goucho to catch girls fleeing from your cheesy advances and lame licks, it should last just fine.

Well now, this little pedal is pretty good concidering i only paid ???19 for it (incl shipping). Its not noisy, but i have to be honest: i havent tried it on high volume yet. I use it in combination with my fender stratocaster and a marshall valvestate 8080 amp.
The sound of this pedal is pretty good for its price. It can go from insane heavy tremolo to surf-ish 60`s sounds. The only problem is the fact that the pedal isnt truebypass. In other words: it sucks tone. You can hear it very well once you turn it on.
All in all its your average tremolo effect. Nothing more, nothing less. What you pay for is what you get. Its fun to play with. I usually dont use effects, but i wanted to experiment with the tremolo effect. So instead of buying me a boss tremelo (that costs about ???150 new) i bought this. Fun to play with, but cause of the fact that its not true bypass i wouldnt bring it to a gig.

Nice, a tremolo. Fun to play around with if you dont want to buy a boss like tremelo that costs about four times the price of this little stompbox. Its cheap and sounds good. A few bad points: not true bypass, its made of plastic and the adaptor input is on a strange place. Overall conclusion: buy this if you want to know what a tremolo sounds like and if you want to experiment with the sound. Dont buy this if youre already familiar with tremolos and you want to use it in your band/gig.

This is pretty simple. 3 knobs control the sound. Very similar to a Boss pedal. If you can figure out how to use a Boss pedal then this is right up your alley. The manual is a joke. Does not give you in recommended settings & is quite generic. But this unit is so simple that a manual isnt necessary. Still, have to knock off a point for lousy manual.

I had to tinker with my set up to get the sound I wanted. The reason I bought this is to get the faster cutting sounds on distortion like on green day's boulevard of broken dreams & alot of sevendust songs. For some reason when I use the gain channel on my B52 amp, it seems that the distortion overrides the trem effect & the effect becomes secondary to the distortion. But when I switch to clean channel, then activate my hyper fuzz distortion box, the trem works great. Im not sure why I cant get the same sound without using distortion pedal, but it sounds sick through the hyper fuzz so Im content. The effect isnt very noisy, in fact for $20 it is more than worth it sound wise.

When I 1st opened this from its plastic case, I felt like it came from a toy store. It is very light & all plastic. It is made from very cheap parts & seems like it would of came from a gumball machine.
I have this pedal velcro'd down to my pedalboard & I see no reason why it would break on me. I dont stomp on my pedals & I dont drop them or mishandle them. So I see no reason for a backup. Seems dependable, but only time will tell.

I play alternative rock/metal. This pedal suits my needs. I have been playing for 15 years & mostly stick with Boss & MXR. I bought this pedal because I was looking for an extra effect that wouldnt break the bank. I dont think I would invest in a whole line of Behringer products. Certain effects such as delay & distortion boxes vary alot in sound when you invest more money. The tremolo effect & for what Im using it for does not vary as much, so this unit at $20 is a great deal!

at first i was happy with the quality (my first tremolo) and slowly became aware of a low, bassy quality that it was adding to my sound.
Um technically known as "thumping". it gets worse on full depth, full speed and on square wave mode... this means that the better sound is the saw wave thing on a lower speed. which sounds fine (considering price ??15) you can't hear the thumping when playing live.

jesus! no way would i depend on this motherlicker!
as i'm sure you've heard plastic chassis, awful hinge (battery access incorpoated) AND>>
i ook a look inside and the pots, jack and adapter are soledered directly to the main Circuit board. the weakest (and cheapest method of production).
and the effect on/off switch is located at the side of the box. a bit dumb...
im not too bothered about the plactic chassis, what am i expected to do with it? throw it around? more than a light tap on and off would eventually break it i'm sure.
definattely not behringer's strong point for this product

how wrong can you go with something that just turns your vol up and down?? (answr is - a bit - good to be used with a band and or disguised with effects but not if youre mesing around playing on your own or oat. DON'T BRING IT INTO THE SPOTLIGHT!)

Well, you can clearly identify this effect as a tremolo but you can tell it from any other (means better) tremolo available. They say Boss pedals were soulless? I would double this statement for this Behringer product. The sound is absolutely not lively, responding, ,versatile, touching or even unique - except for its bad artifical sound, there's nothing like it.

Unfortunately not all of these pedals are worth the ~20EUR. I really don't use top of the notch buotique effects and equipment but this product isn't usable for any half way serious musical attempt.

Its very easy to get a sound out of the pedal, but the nob for selecting ether square wave forms or more vibrato wave form doesn't really do alot, althogh there is some noticeble difference. The manual hs all you really need in it, what the nobs do, how the effect works and how to power it.

As i have said it is easy to get a whole range of sounds so i ca replicate the effects on certain songs very well. I have a modified yamaha pacifica guitar going through a line 6 spider head into a 15inch fender speaker. It sounds good, no extra noise (i have other effects that change around, that can create slight hum). The effects can be weak if needs be or they can be very dominant.

Although its shell is plastic, unless you actually intend on crushing it by jumping on repeatedly, it can stand up to general ware and tear. The nobs are very slightly wobbilly but are protected by the rest of the case, so again unless you wanted to break them, they're fine. i wouldn't need a backup (mainly because i use a pedal board).

Utterly idiot-proof, even if the manual could've done with giving a few sample settings. The only downer is the badly-located AC socket, which I'd rather was on the top edge of the unit.

I use Squier Strats through Page and Marshall amps, as well as a cheap Tanglewood electro-acoustic which sometimes gets in on the effects fun. It's a pretty hard effect to mess up, and this pedal performs well above it's price; I'd rank it slightly below the Boss unit that sells at #60, but the lack of outputcutting nastiness on the UT-100 is enough to put it level.
You can get everything from a "Bang Bang, My Baby Shot Me Down" shimmer to a gentle, subtle roll to what sounds like a Commodore 64 CID chip having a breakdown. Great fun.

This would be where the missing #45 would go. It's made from hardly confidence-inspiring plastic, the operation button is a very small microswitch, and the knobs don't look too sturdy. But in practise, it all holds together and nothing looks like it'll come flying off. I wouldn't want to jump up and down on this pedal, but for #15, I could buy three spares anyway.

If you're after a gentle blues tone, get this. If you want a Tom Morello-esque helicopter tone, get this. So, basically, if you want a trem pedal, audition this. Even if you don't, give it a shot. It's about as much inspiration you can buy for the price. A very worthwhile purchase.

3 knobs - Rate, Wave and Depth. Also a single in and out as well as an AC 9v power input (which is always nice to see). What can go wrong?

For the price, its extreeemely good. I think it beats the boss tremelo stomp. You can get a varity of sounds from it, like a gentle shimmer in the shower, to a full on, machine gun, hard cutting sound.
The main buying point for this product was volume. There was no volume drop like on some other pedals (cough-Boss), so you don't need to mod anything.
I'm using this in my pedal board of a Boss TU-2>>Boss-DS-2>>MonkeyEffects Router[route1=Electric Mistriss Flanger>>Crybaby][route2>>Guyatone MD-3]>>Boss DD-6>>Behringer UT100 and it adds no noise to the chain what-so-ever. So i give it two thumbs up.
Nothing wrong with it.

you would be pretty suprised, when i gig i sometimes smashed my pedals (accidently - of course). Like last gig i jump off a my drummers kick drum onto my pedalboard and mainly landed on my UT100/boss-dd-6 and eveything was fine.
If there was one thing i didn't like, it was when i first got it. The "Rate" pot was, and still is loose, and its a real bugger trying to take off the back to fix it, so i'll just have to live with it.

I've been playing for 7 or 8 years and play a huge range of music, so i've got to make sure my pedal board is up for playing those genre's. The tremelo is ideal to adding a dynamical shimmer to my more post-rock, alterantive edge and thus making a more hard-hitting, impact performance. People like that apparently.
If it got stolen, i would buy another... especially at that price... and i wouldn't need to smack anyone for stealing it.
I wish the pedal had the possibilities of a stereo out, for a panner/tremelo effects... that would be sh-weet.
I am also a vegan and the UT100 helps me sleep at night!
I recommend this pedal as it is extremely good value for money and it's top of the league in the mainstream tremelo market. So suck on that Boss!

the setup
Guitar -> Digitech Synth Wah -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah -> Boss SD-1 Overdrive -> Ibanez SC10 Chorus -> Boss PS-2 Harmonizer -> Behringer UT100 Tremolo -> Boss DD-3 Delay -> Line 6 Spider 210 (set to Twang)
I have 2 main guitars, a stock Epiphone Les Paul Standard, and a Hamer Slammer Explorer outfitted with Gibson 496r and 500t pickups. So it's essentially a 1976 Explorer.
I detect no noise from this pedal, or i should say that it adds no noise to my already noisy arrangement. I do not have anything against noise, it's a natural quality of electronics. I didn't bother testing the pedal solo because there is no point. It lives with my other pedalss o i am basing my review on that setup.
Perfect tremolo it is not, but it sounds like a tremolo. my previous Trems came from a Zoom GFX707, a Pod, the trem on my amp, and a Tuna Melt. I tested the Boss TR-2 in stores but couldn't afford it. The Zoom was actually my favorite trem, the tuna melt being the single worst effect i have ever owned. Feature wise the Behringer stacks up to the TR-2. Quality wise not so much. I use this Trem for two sounds. All the knobs cranked up for hyper stuttery effects, and then the rate backed off a bit for a more pulsating tremolo. It does both good enough for me. But i can imagine that it would not quite "feel" right next to a TR-2. It seems soft or loose or something, hard to describe. But for what i use it for, i have to say i approve of it's preformance. Not perfect, but not horrible.
I'd like to note that my local music shop guy said DO NOT BUY THIS PEDAL. he said that you can hear the effect when it's turned off, it's noisy and it sucks tone. I bought it anyways because (it was $100 cheaper than the TR-2 and) i have a Master Selector pedal that was going to use in case the things he said were true. A Master Selector Pedal is like an A/B box for pedals, you can hook up separate chains or FX loops and switch between them. If the UT100 was trash like the music store guy said, then i could bypass its terror completely :) Well...his words were wrong. The first thing i did was turn my amp to full and listen...NO TREMOLO NOISE. it was off entirely when turned off. As stated before, no additonal noise to my setup. As for tone sucking the only suck i can detect is an ever so slight drop in volume when activated, but in my experience that is an attribute of Tremolo pedals anyways.
There is an occasional click when de-activating the effect.

It's not made of metal, it's "heavy duty plastic", which means it's plastic. The knobs are flimsy and loose as well, not exactly solid when you turn them. Behringer is a company that makes cheap/affordable stuff so i expected this, and if you buy any Behringer product you should expect similar issues as well. When stepping on the pedal it does feel firm under your foot. I do not jump on my pedals, so unless there are manufacturing flaws i can expect a long life from this unit.
I have used it every day for a month with no technical issues. I will give it an 8 for the cheap materials. I'd prefer a metal housing and solid dials.

I am kinda proud of this little box. it was so cheap, and it does what i want. I am somewhat leary of the materials used in construction, but i do not abuse my gear, and never let anyone irresponsible use it.
Sound wise it's good enough. It sounds like a tremolo, but if you want the sound of a TR-2 because your favorite guitarist uses one, then buy a TR-2. That applies to any pedal. For me i just wanted the Trem sound for a few songs my band plays. We're an orignal band, and i am the only guitarist. I love this pedal with my Synth Wah, check out www.purevolume.com/the92js (leaving nova scotia) for the 2 in action. That was the main reason i got the trem. I would prefer the Line 6 trem on my amp, but i can't turn it off gracefully. The other day i was jamming Geurilla Radio, which brings me back to my point about the TR-2...it is NOT a TR-2 :)
If there was one thing i'd change it would be the location of the power jack. it's on the bloody side! WTF!?!?! i can send a pic of my board and the UT100 just looks awkward because i had slide it back a couple inches to accomodate my powerall jack. Why Behringer put it on the side i will never know...but i can guess. They cut a corner on the circuit board or some interal component but not sauldering it onto the top. Just a bizarre move, i mean EVERY pedal i have ever seen (aside from the crybaby) has the jack on the top.
summary...
+ price
+ rate, shape and depth controls
- a little soft, undefined on some settings
- power jack on the side!?!?!?
- plastic...umm...everything!
Since it's a budget pedal, i can't give it honours. But my 7 is really a 7.9 :)

I use (mostly) a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Telecaster, with a DF1 distortion, OD3 overdrive and nothing else.
simple set up and i wanted a little sonic variety for a couple of songs and as it was dirt cheap, i thought: why not?
It's ok. not top of the range, but OK. slight volume drop when using it with distortion, but fine when my guitar's clean.
Don't expect boutique effects here, it's basic and a little grainy, but fun and gratifying. No noise to report, in honesty, just good sounds... a bit weak at the higher speed settings, but still fun.

As you won't want to use it it's hardly likely to break

Play heavy-ish rock with a fair smattering of effects. Been playing nearly 20 years.
I only bought this as for 15 quid I thought it would be worth the risk and I don't have a tremelo box on the pedal board.
The only use I can see for this junk is if you are into making your own boxes you could scrap the innards and re-use the casing, knobs etc.
