Pretty easy to get good distortion sounds at practice/bedroom settings. No editing as it's an analog unit, no manual included. Three way toggle switch for distortion mode, true bypass DPDT stomp switch. Chicken head knobs for output, tone, distortion. They turn REALLY easily, and can be inadvertantly changed.

Sound Quality : 8
Use with a Gibson Flying V with Prodigy pickups (ceramic pearl topped humbuckers). Only noisy if you use the factory AC adapter. With battery power or a home made power supply, unit is not noisy at all. It has three modes of distortion accessible with a toggle switch. Can go from classic distortion to scooped mids with boosted bass and treble (my fav setting, toggle switch in middle position), to classic Big Muff Pi tone. I think that this is what this pedal is: a modified Big Muff clone. I use it with a Pignose G60VR amp for rehearsals and small to medium gigs, and a Mesa Heartbreaker head w/ 4x12 cab for larger venues. I think that all the distortion modes are very good. Much better than Boss or Rat.

Reliability : No Opinion
Have had it for a short while, seems to be solidly constructed, appears to be stainless steel enclosure with a heavy duty stomp switch. The battery cover seems to be the weakest link, could be easily lost.

they occasionally answer emails, but they're in China and I'm in Tennessee -

Classic Rock, Contemporary Adult, Blues, covers mainly. Been playing professionally since 1977. Although I really do like this pedal, I would not replace it as it is from China, and I don't have that much time...I really love the versatility of the distortions, although the 1st and 3rd positions of the toggle are kinda subtle - the middle position is the most dramatic tone change. I hate the way that the controls can be easily changed inadvertantly. I also hate that the power supply is essentially un-usable due to the excessive hum it produces

Basic Big Muff clone. Steel housing. 3 chickenhead knobs = Level, Distortion, and Tone. One 3 way switch labeled "Normal, Bright, and Warm. No manual. Don't need one.

Sound Quality : 8
Think saturation here. This it type pedal Leslie West would use. Not noisy, true bypass stomp switch. It sounds best with the tone set between the 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock position - past 12 o'clock and it gets thin and tinny sounding. Also sounds best with bridge pickups, gets kinda muddy with the neck pickups, doesn't matter is single coil or humbuckers. The distortion works best between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock. Below 10 o'clock and it gets weak, after 2 and it just gets over saturated. The 3 way switch in the normal position is OK distortion. In the "bright" setting, seems to boost the bass and treble frequencies, I think I like it best. The "warm" setting is reminiscent of a Fuzz Face.

Reliability : 8
Seems solidly built, the weak points: the battery cover is on the bottom, hinged, held in place with a thumb screw, could easily be lost. The toggle switch for the Modes is kinda thin, and coulod be easily stomped on.

They suck. Will occasionally respond to emails, but offer no help. They're in China - what are you gonna do?

Overall Rating : 8
I think this is a goo, usable, cheap distortion pedal for the price, well built, should hold up. I can get some good tones out of it. I like the saturated but smooth tone, and the overall look and feel of the unit. Much better than the Boss DS-1. Comparable to a Russian Big Muff pi. Been playing 35 years, it's not a bad buy. Just don't buy their power supply - it's JUNK!
