Ease of Use : 6
In this category, I'll rate the "ease of use" for installing the modification, rather than the usage of the original product..
If one has some experience with soldering, (and desoldering!) building pedal kits, and a basic knowledge of electronic components, this is an easy install. Oh yeah, you need some patience, but if you're interested in doing this kind of geek/techie stuff you likely do.
I have built only one pedal kit before and I had no trouble with this kit. (I did actually install one of the capacitors backwards, but realized what I had done with a quick google search on tantalum capacitor polarity.) As I followed Pedalhackers recommendation to install one component at a time and test each, rectifying the situation was simple. The installs took me about 2 hours in total.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this pedal in full stereo mode. My setup is:
Strat Plus (lace single coils) or G&L Asat Bluesboy (singles or HB's) > BYOC Tribooster > Sparkledrive > Barber LTD > Fulltone OCD > Keeley Rat > Boss CE-3 > Digitech Hardwire Delay > 70's Musicman 2x12 Sixty-five and Randall RM20 or Jcm800 half stack. I split the signal from the CE-3 into one input on each amp.
Before this mod, I found this pedal to have great stereo separation, but it did introduce a fair bit of buzz/hum into my signal. Also, it was somewhat on the bright/brittle side of things.. I did however enjoy the basic quality of the pedal or I'd have likely let it go..
After reading about Pedalhacker's mod, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Glad I did! The improvement in this pedal is immense. The new capacitors removed any/all of the unpleasant noise. The rate and depth available now is also excellent! The range now goes from nice and subtle to downright ugly.. (Which in itself is an interesting effect.) But seriously, I'll be using this on my board for quite a while now!

Reliability : 7
I can't see why this won't be reliable.. The components that were upgraded are now so far superior to the original equipment I should get 30 years out of this. Not bad for a pedal that is already 25 years old.

Customer Support : 8
I did email "Pedalhacker" with a question about the LED, and his reply was within 24 hours. I surely can't fault that kind of support!

Overall Rating : 8
Basically I was looking for an easy way to emulate the SRV leslie sound (think DFW off the Vaughan Brothers Family Style album). This pedal originally couldn't reach a fast enough rate to pull that off (plus it was noisy so was off my board). I'm totally diggin' it now.. I mean big time!
I have been playing for 29 years, and have heard a lot of gear over the years.. I think it's so great that stompboxes have really made a comeback of late, and now it's almost common knowledge how to get the most out of them.
One thing worth mentioning with Pedalhackers mod is the LED he throws in. In stock form, you can't see the red LED on the CE-3 very well as the depth knob is directly in your line of sight.. If you drill out the hole, and install the bigger/brighter LED (using the stock boss standoff on the daughterboard) you'll end up being able to see when the pedal is on MUCH easier as it will have a higher physical profile and brighter light.. Another plus for doing this..

This mod made a totally outdated and noisy pedal fresh and useful again. I will not have to consider replacing this chorus any time soon!
Overall, excellent value for a few buck.. Thanks Pedalhacker! Well done Sir.

Mod kit, 16.00 DIY and 36.00 plus shipping for the pro to do it. If your aren't comfortable with small component soldering I highly recommend you send it to him. No manual needed.

Sound Quality : 10
I bought the Boss ce-3 because it's supposed to be the best and was disappointed and gave it a poor review. Didn't seem to have much of a lush sound to it. I came across this mod for 15.00 kit or 36.00 plus a very reasonable shipping charge on EBAY for him to do it and decided to give it a try. WOW! I couldn't believe the difference!! I compared it side by side with the one my teacher has and our eyes almost popped!! It now has much more of everything that the controls let you do and not that seasick, swirly sound either. I even screwed it up when I tried to do it, sent it to him to fix. He gave me a discounted price, which is normally 36.00 for the kit and for him to do for you. He emailed me back and said he hoped I was satisfied because I had evidently damaged it to where he said it didn't sound as good as they normally do with this mod. I can't imagine it sounding any better!!! I rate this as a 10+

Reliability : 10
Can't imagine it being anything than more reliable than it was for an older pedal since he did it with a bunch of very high quality components.

Customer Support : 10
I screwed it up, he fixed it, and since I already bought the DIY kit, he gave me a discount and seemed very concerned that I was satisfied. This guy's a real pro who seems to really care that you are totally happy with it. Not many people around that take that much pride in what they do anymore.

Overall Rating : 10
I play mainly blues but also like stuff like Matchbox 20. Big Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, and classic rock/blues guy. Wet Dream is the perfect name for this mod. Really juices it up to boutique pedal quality at a working persons price. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! If it were lost or stolen I'd buy another for around 50.00, have him do the mod for 36.00 and have a pedal others, especially those with a stock ce-3, drool when they play it. Seriously, you gotta get this done or your just cheating yourself and your audience, and yes, I am a customer and not some body pushing their own product.
