I bought mine used so it didn't come with a manual.... but there was no problem in finding a usable sound. Just by plugging it in I got that watery sounding chorus tht Kurt Cobain liked using so much, and after a bit of fiddling I got many other very usable sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this with a Les Paul copy which goes to a crybaby, to a Nobels DT-1 Distortion (a copy of the BOSS DS-1) which goes straight into the guitar input of my amp - a Marshall Valvestate 8080. I put the chorus in my effects loop in front of a tremolo (very psychedelic sounds when combining the two). No noise what so ever, doesn't colour your tone (even though it's not true bypass). This is a stereo chorus so I hook up a second amp to it sometimes, it always sounds great. I can easily get any of the sounds I look for from Jimi Hendrix (he didn't use this thing but hey.... I can't afford anything better), to Jimmy Page, to some Pink Floydish sounding stuff.

Reliability : 10
It's a BOSS.... come on.... the great Wall of China should have been built out of these things.

Why bother?

I think this box is similar CH-1. but have 3 knob Deep Rate and Mode. You can got pro sound but low price.

Very smooth when you joine with Ibanez TS-808 or Boss OD-1 and plug with Tube amp for Texas blues sound.

3 knobs.... rate, depth, and stereo mode. simple!

Sound Quality : 9
excellent sound out of this little box. As good as a CH-1 i think. what i love about it is the stereo mode switch. It switches the sound from stereo to monoraul. I be using a Les Paul custom through a champion 110 fender amp. only complaint is the constant pulse on the high settings when not playing anything... but a noise gate can fix taht

Reliability : 10

i play alt/rock/classic rock and i do love to play around with it and the quality of sound is amazing... but i just seem to have no use for a chorus pedal in my rig.

3 simple knobs. It took me 5 minutes to figure it out.

Sound Quality : 9
The sound you get from it is just great. Along with heavy distortion, you can get that Nirvana sound.

Reliability : 10
No other chorus effects are needed. It also very tough. I bought it used and it works great.

Never had to deal with the company

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy it again in a heartbeat. It gives my tone that certain something. A must have.

2 settings (pos/neg phase or dry/effect) are a nice touch, and its 3 knobs are a snap to figure out.

Sound Quality : 4
passable, but the chorus is way too thick in the midrange, and i found i could never get a nice tone out of this thing at 2 gigs in a row. not nearly as transparent as other boss choruses.

Reliability : 10
please. it's a boss.

Overall Rating : 3
i sold this the second i found an interested buyer. a lame bridge between the original CE-1 chorus ensemble and the CE-5 chorus ensemble. boss has done better, and i don't miss the pedal at all. any $25 chorus in a pawnshop would be a step up.

This pedal is all u need for a chorus effect. It has 3 knobs Rate, Depth, and Stereo Mode. I bought it used and it was still in great shape. It probably isn't being made new anymore, though.

Sound Quality : 9
The sound quality is great. Its just like being Nirvana.
