Like most BOSS pedals, this fuzz box is no different. There are three knobs for LEVEL, TONE, and FUZZ (each of which is extremely self explanatory). The manual is really unneeded, and the presets inclosed are all pretty generic.

The fuzz sound is very driving. It's a lot tighter than a FuzzFace (which I have) and the fuzz sound is definitely much more contemporary. It really sounds great if you like playing a lot of rhythm and power chords, but for solos, and lead work, it tends to get muddy ecspecially in the low register. While playing with the tone and fuzz knob, I was able to get a good amount of shape from it, though I couldn't reproduce the FuzzFace sound (which has a very unique fat quality to it) I was able to get some fantastic sounds out of it. At one time I had the predecessor, the Boss HyperFuzz, which was extremely quiet. I am glad to say that they fixed that problem in the new peddle and it sounds 10x better.

It's a Boss! Never had a problem with any Boss product, don't foresee a problem. They make some damn godd pedals there. And they're made out of metal!!! Not Plastic like a lot of other cheaper pedals.

Roland/Boss is pretty good and knowledgeble. I've never called them about pedals, but for other products, they were very helpful, and had quick service.

This is a great FUZZ pedal, and I mean that. If you are into distortion, look into a Ibanez TS808 or something, but if its fuzz you want, I would definitely reccomend this pedal, ecspecially if you play a lot of rhythm and power chords
