This is very easy to use. You can cange the tempo of when the effect kicks in for a more flowing sound for your songs. I found this the phaser I have ever used, more options then any other made. Boss has made a big step from the older versions. I also connected an EV-5 to this and it allows you to change the rate of the effect, I would suggest getting one of these for more control on stage. Anyway I'm giving it and 8 cuz newbie may have trouble getting tempo down

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Fender Strat and it sounds great, yet it can pull great sounds even from my Squier Strat. The sound is very smooth unless you turn the knobs to the max. I aslo connected it to a flanger and distortion and after tampering you can get a professional sound easily.

Reliability : 10
Just got it, one of the few right now, boss is being selective of who they are giving it out too so haven't really beat it up yet. But it's a boss nothing is better in my opinion, my MT-2 lasted a long time and no signs of problems yet. I'll be replacing this with my PH-2 for sure, and this will be easy to use on stage with addition to and EV-5

Customer Support : No Opinion

My band plays a music almost like no other, my best comparison is to TOOL. Very big on effects and this phaser is perfect. I like everything about it I don't have a bad word. If you want a phasing effect try and get this you will be very happy I promise. You cant find a phaser with more options on it then this.

Awesome new phaser with wide variety of phase shifts- the only tricky part about this pedal is trying to set the tempo.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Gibson SG through a Marshall 80-watt combo, and it sounds great! You can get effects ranging from a raygun to an aquarium to a slow shift.

Reliability : 10
BOSS= dependable. No backups needed.

I bought this pedal not so much to play covers, but to try to come up with some unique sounds- and I found the right pedal. This green beauty is better looking (my fav colour, actually) and louder than the PH-2, and blows the Ibanez Phaser out of the water. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to incorporate it into a song, but it's worth the effort- you can turn people's heads and make them say "What the hell was that?" It's my seventh pedal in my four years of playing, and I would replace it ASAP if it disappeared.
