Ease of Use : 9
Very easy to use. Just decide whether you want it to stream or show cents. Occasionally, it has trouble locating a particular note, but nothing serious. You can also set it to tune to flat for you nu-rock/metal guys out there.

Sound Quality : 8
If you leave an overdrive or distortion unit "on" when you are not playing with the tuner set to "stream", then sometimes it will make a noise like a motor running. I can tell a difference when it's directly in my chain since it's buffered. It's not bad, however; if you are as picky about your tone as I am mine, either use a good a/b or a/b/c box to split it out of your chain, or use a dedicated send from a good volume pedal. A more in-depth tuner would be the peterson but really, who has time on-stage to check intonation. I give this an 8 for sound quality because I feel it alters the tone.

Reliability : 10
I run a recording studio and play professional gigs, so in-other-words, this unit has been put to the test. It has not let me down! I do carry a small pocket-size tuner just in case though. I don't think that any piece of gear is "bullet proof".

Customer Support : No Opinion
Iv'e never had to deal with Roland/Boss for repairs.

Overall Rating : 9
Hey, it's tuning! How complicated is that. This is a good unit with usable features. I just wish it made me play better.

Ease of Use : 10
This is the absolute best tuner I have ever owned period !! I am a steady gigger and it tunes very quickly & accurately which is all you can ask of a tuner......Tuner is extremely easy to use.....

Sound Quality : 9
All my peddles are true bypass but this tuner and I really don't notice much of a sacrifice in tone....I am a tube man all the way and very in to tube tones and the tuner always is there for me gig after gig without messing with my signal.....

Reliability : 10
I have gigged steadily with this tuner for the past 2 years without any type of problems....Very reliable & accurate....If this tuner isn't already it will soon be the industry standard for pedalboard & live music tuners....

Customer Support : 8
I have never dealt with boss and hope I never have to !! Thus I am giving an 8 here because I just don't know about their customer service ??

Overall Rating : 10
I am giving this tuner an overall 10 for ease of use & accuracy of tuning along with a very minimal affect to your tone overall....I love this tuner on my pedalboard in live situations & in the studio....The bottom line is I know I can always depend on it !! Very Cool !!

This pedal is very straightforward, it's easy to switch between the 7 modes it offers, but I mainly leave it on chromatic. You just stomp and tune... very easy.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Sound quality doesnt really apply to a tuner...

Reliability : 10
This is a dependable tuner, it is very accurate if you want it to be. Take a few minutes turning your tuners slowly and you'll get a dead on tuning job... awesome.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never had to deal with Boss customer support because their pedals are built like tanks and I haven't had a problem with one yet.

Overall Rating : 10
This is an amazing tuner for on stage use. The LED's are super bright and great for dark stages. Throw this in the front of your effects chain and your ready to go! The features on this are also nice. It offers seven modes (Guitar, Guitar Eb, Guitar Double b, Bass, Bass b, Bass double b, and chromatic) but I find unless you play only in one of those tunings that it is best to leave it on chromatic. The other feature I like is the Output/Bypass option. If you use the regular output to the amp it will silence your signal while you tune, which is awesome for if an incident on stage happens you wont have to ruin the song by having everyone hear your tuning. Or if your into that, use the bypass output and the tuner will tune while preserving your signal! Killer pedal, definately worth the $$$!!

This pedal is simple to use, works the same as every other tuner, the chromatic setting takes a bit of getting used to though

Sound Quality : 9
I dont know what people are talking about here with the buffer and tru by pass stuff. I have owned this pedal for 3 years, and used it for live settings aswell as recording, i have never noticed a change in my tone what so ever. When you press the pedal, your sound stops and you tune, anything deeper into what this does to your signal is looking way to deep into it. The only reason i can't give it a 10 is because it once and a while does take a second or two, to find out what note is being played, but this is mostly when you have old strings or if you are tuning your guitar to a low tuning, like "C"

Reliability : 10
3 years and still ticking, not to bad i would say. I have used this thing playing in smoke infested bars, as well as in churches. I have stomped the heck out of this thing even loaned it to many people and it still works the same as the day i bought it

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to contact boss for any of my pedals

Overall Rating : 9
Good pedal, i never play anywhere without this thing, other pedals stay at home as the gig allows, but this thing is always by my side. It would be nice to have a rack tuner, but i dont have any other rack units so that would be a waste

Ease of Use : 7
I leave it on one setting and forget it......
If I need to tune for pitch change when playing against backing tracks, I'll tune according to the dots.......

Sound Quality : 9
Yes, it is not true bypass....But here's the kicker....
It is a buffered pedal, so when placed FIRST in your chain (where it should be anyway) it then maintains the signal transfer amplitude from Guitar down that LONG A$$ed instrument cable to your first Effect........

Try seeing how a Muff or some OD sounds ALONE when you don't have a buffered pedal there.........Then add back the buffered pedal.....
BOSS has a boatload of these, don't they?

Not too many buffered pedals in your chain now.....
That WILL goof out your tone

My beef is that the pedal tends to seek/roam about at times in finding it's note that's being tuned in.....

That is a tad frustrating........No doubt about it...

Reliability : No Opinion
Is mine going bad?

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nah.........Buy another, or better.....

Overall Rating : 8
Gotta have this or another buffered pedal first (CS-1?)
otherwise, the sound suffers........

What a useful tool....BTW...

Staying in tune is important when I last checked......

This is a very basic simple to use foot pedal tuner.......It's very accurate and reliable....I love it in my effects case !!

Sound Quality : 9
It's a tuner and really has no affect on your sound or tone....I give it a 9 simply because it's not True bypass as all of my other pedals are...I am a tone freak and really don't want anything messing with my Princeton Reverb's tone !!

Reliability : 10
I gig regularly with my pedalboard and it has been nothing but a pleasure to work with...Very fast tuning and accurate on the fly....I run all my pedals with 1 spot adapters and it functions flawlessly....

Customer Support : 9
I have never had a reason to deal with the company as the pedal tuner has been very rugged and trustworthy on the road...I have no doubt though that a co.like Boss would not stand by a product this cool.....I give it a 9 simply because I hate to give a product all 10's !!!!

Overall Rating : 10
I play all styles of music and would highly recommend this pedal tuner to anyone using a pedalboard set-up.....Although it would work great in any application where a pedal tuner is desired....

Very easy to use. It has settings for Bass, Guitar, and also to go half step of full step down.

Sound Quality : 10
I don't hear it giving off anything. So it's good.

Reliability : 6
Like all Boss pedals it's built tough...except... the plastic cover piece over the LEDs. I don't trust it. Being careful not to drop it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used.

Overall Rating : 9
I love the ease of being able to step on it so I can tune. But for $80 I'm thinking, "It's just a tuner, I coulda bought one at half the price!" But oh well. I look cool with a Boss Tuner in my rig. :D

Ease of Use : 7
Easy to use, although the normal mode is easiest, and the only nesessary mode.
In stream mode the pedal is foolish, and he mode seems designed as a gimick. It actually makes tuning and reading the pedal harder.

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal has no sound, but I was happy to see that it made no noticable degredation to my set up.

Reliability : 10
Like a tank!

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 4
As a tuner this pedal is cool, yet it is burdened with useless features like the sream mode. I would be much happier if boss made a simple straight forward version - no gimmicks, no silly gags. If they elliminated all the crap and made a simple chromatic pedal tuner that then cost less I would be thrilled.

I really needed a tuner, but felt like a looser paying 100$ for the "luxery" of being able to tune my guitar on stage! I would have bought another brand that was cheaper but I wanted someting that would last.

The one great feature that this pedal has is the daisy caining feature that allows one to power other boss and like voltage pedals.

In short, for what I use this pedal for - standard tuning of my guitar on stage- this pedal is a little too expensive, but it does get the job done .

In the Stream Mode, it seems a bit like a flying saucer, but after 2 minutes you'll have no problems...
The Cent Mode doesn't need any explanation or instruction...
You plug the guitar, tune and play.

Sound Quality : 6
I think this pedal colors the sound, as it is not a true-bypass unit (as all of the Boss pedals), but I have no such problems using it, as I use the dedicated tuner-output of my Ernie Ball Volume Pedal.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I never have tried a Peterson, but this pedal satisfies me, so I will not spend other bucks for another tuner.
I strongly recommend to buy this stomp-box tuner, but I also strongly suggest Boss to develop a true-bypass switching system ASAP!!!

I've sat here and read EVERY EXCUSE in the world....LISTEN UP!, NO chromatic, or L.E.D. tuner (rack or otherwise), at ANY price, is going to perfectly tune your guitar. There is NO perfect tuning of a guitar in the first place! Its a physical immposibility. Before you buy ANY tuner, make sure your tuners on the guitar arent CRAP! (this is more often responsible for tuning problems). If you want to brag about something (accuracy), get a PETERSON. They have a heavy duty (true bypass) pedal called "Strobo-Stomp". Its cheaper than a rack unit, and NO other pedal can match it! You want easy and effective? Quit you're techo-bullshit and buy one!
