Ease of Use

It's pretty easy to use, but there's no manual. There are three knobs - level, filter (filter? - seems to be a tone control), and gain. I adjust level so there isn't a massive volume jump or drop when I step on the pedal, then adjust gain depending on which pickups I'm using.

I use a variety of guitars and pickups. I use an overdrive pedal far more often than distortion, but with some of my quieter pickups - Lace Sensors, Holy Grails, etc. - I couldn't get anything other than a clean sound even at high gain. This gives me a dirtier distortion with those pickups, which is what I was looking for. It certainly doesn't have the variety of sounds that higher end distortion pedals would have, but it suits my purposes. It is not a super high gain metal distortion pedal - there are certainly many of those on the market if that's what you need.

Fairly cheap construction, which is appropriate in this price range. At a gig, I would use my Johnson J-Station for distortion. I want this to be a small, portable, battery-powered option. I don't need a backup for those purposes, although my old Korg Pandora PX-1 could do this job in a pinch.

No idea, haven't even found a Web site. I bought it from Sam Ash, who are pretty solid in this respect.

I wanted this for very limited use - in general, portable use with a battery powered amp. I didn't want to spend a whole lot for this pedal, and I didn't. It is certainly OK for my purposes, and I would probably get it again if stolen. A manual, or at least a list of suggested settings, would have been nice.
