This is the easiest wah pedal I have ever used. No knobs, switches or dials to spend time fiddling with. Just step on it and go.

I am running a '96 Mexican Strat with a single coil sized humbucker and a '72 Thinline reissue into the Budda budwah, a Visual Sound Route 66, a Tech 21 California modeling pedal, a DOD Delay, all running into either a Fender Frontman 212R, and Epiphone Firefly 30, and a Crate Blue Voodoo 120watt half stack. The sound out of this wah is nothing short of perfect. No more nasal whine like I was getting with the Crybaby I replaced. I would put this up against any other wah without hesitation.

It seems to be built like a tank, but I have only had it for two weeks. I feel comfortable using it without a backup, seems beefy.

I play everything from classic rock to punk music. I have been playing for 17 years and consider myself kind of a gear snob. I have played and owned Fenders, Gibsons (overpriced crap), Gretsches and some wacky things in between. If it were lost or stolen I would replace it in a heart beat, and then beat the thief to a bloody pulp with the original. Buy this one, you won't be sorry.

This is my third wah. The first two were unreliable and sounded terrible. The true-bypass got my attention on this one, so I ordered it (used).
It sounds great. The guitar doesn't lose any oompf, the sweep is wide and even, and there's no hiss or crackle.

The on-off always works - another of my complaints about my first two wahs. Since the only back-up equipment I take to (very occasional) gigs are an extra guitar, amp, cable, and tuner, I'm the wrong person to ask whether I'd take a back-up effect. I don't use the wah much - maybe one or twice a gig, if that, but it is fun to have if you can find one that works. Which, with Buddha, I did.
Though it's very heavy and seems military grade, I'm not going to rate it for reliability yet. Ask me in five years.

I play mostly roots American styles. But I use the Bud Wah in a Africana-world beat band I'm in, since a few of the tunes dip into funk - not usually my favorite music, but with world beat, it works.

As others have said, its simple enough to work. What is noticeable is that the treadle requires less 'travel' and physical effort to obtain a full sweep of the wah effect. I playing styles such as (amongst others) jazz-funk and funky grooves, so this is a very good attribute and will no doubt work well on my blues solos, but again, its all down to personal preference. It certainly does require a more 'measured' technique than other wahs.
The on/off switch is nice and easy to activate as well.

I bought this on the strength of its hard-wired bypass and reputation as a quiet wah which didn't feed too much gain into the signal path. I'm using it with my Mesa Boogie Lone Star.
So far, its been really true to that - its been noise-free in operation and when dormant. Switch it off and....no unwanted noise at all, its as though you've plugged straight into the amp, as if the Bud-Wah isn't there. This is as good as it gets, total contrast to the Cry Baby its replaced and thats exactly what I bought it for

I play jazz, jazz-funk and blues, so this unit will have a use in all three settings.
I have my doubts about build quality and looking at it closely, the chassis is the same as a basic Dunlop unit, which is a fraction of the price of this one. Thats not in itself a major issue, but flip it upside down and you find the same cheap tinny base plate which is so flimsey it could be used to make the model plane you'd otherwise fashion from scrap paper!!! No, it may not affect the sound quality, but it can make secure mounting on a pedal board rather tricky. I don't know whats stopping the manufacturer from providing a better quality base plate - Fulltone do, but then they are impossible to locate, at least here in the UK.
I've partly got around this by bolting the Budda base plate on top of my old Cry Baby one and this makes it a little more solid on the board, but may still contact Buddha about this as it wouldn't take much.
In summary, I am happy thus far, as although it doesn't actually look anything like how I would imagine such a high end wah unit would, its important to judge it on sonic rather than aesthetic merits. Plug it in and its instantly apparent why this thing is one of the best on the market, so looks are deceptive.....

I am using this with an Orange Tiny Terror and these amps rock! Through a 2 x 12 with a Les Paul Studio, The bypass in this is awesome its also very quiet alot better than the crybabys/vox that I have played on in the past. I tune to D and drop it if you play like this this pedal is not for you the top end is fine but the bottom end muds out due to the frequency being set to A!?!?!? There is not alot of sweep or travel in this pedal either so you can not go off with it you have to be extremly precise in your movement the mid range of this pedal stinks so basically the rock back and forth is cool and leaving it set toe up is cool for a boost in tone but search on if you are looking for a tone bomb this is not it.

Have not had it long enough to say but with most pedals the plastic thing that turns the pot is PLASTIC the pot is exposed to dust and anything else that can get in there. So we will see. It's built like a Sherman Tank

I play heavy music and have for 15 years if it were stolen I would not get another one of these I would probally go for a bad horsie the optical thing MAN I should have gotten that! This pedal really needs a Q adjuster and more sweep, and less mids I cut those out anyway and if you eq with this pedal you might as well be trying to wah on a broke pedal. I might sell it its pretty weak

My rig is: Stock Fender MIM Fat Strat > Budda Wah > Planet Waves Tuner > Big Muff NYC > Boss OD-3 > Fender Blues Junior.
I got mine yesterday, and it's the first wah pedal I've ever used. It has a wonderful wah sound. Clean or distorted. Very smooth overall, and not to harsh on the top end. It's got this nice oozey sound to it, it's just orgasmic! Can get great Hendrix tones.

I've only had it one day, but it's solid as a rock and heavy as hell. The rubber stoppers were easy to come off (I wanted to see if I liked it better with them off or on), but that's a simple thing to fix anyway. Would not need a backup I'm pretty sure.

I'm playing this pedal straight into the frontend of a Mesa Boogie Mark IV amplifier with humbuckers. I purchased this pedal after selling my Crybaby 535Q, a pedal which has far too harsh a top-end to be of any real use to anyone practically speaking. It was really a toss-up between this wah and one of the Teese wahs (which I've heard are also good, but slightly more synthetic sounding), and I'm so glad I chose the Bud-wah!
I'll level with you, the first time I played this pedal through my amp I was a little disappointed as the sound seemed to cut-off about mid-way through the sweep. After a few hours of jamming I realised that all my prayers had been answered. This pedal is the king of all funk pedals (which is probably the reason the Jamiroquai guitarist uses them!) and no matter how far you sweep it, it will always hit that sweet spot! With a heap of distortion this thing is like a sweet sustain pedal, and you can produce some extremely rich harmonics and singing string-bends with a half-cocked wah setting! With distortion you get an extremely professional sounding, mid e.q'd sound that just has the perfect sweet spot! You can hit some beautiful string bends with this wah and I believe it to be the perfect compliment to the greatest lead amp in the world! I'm so glad I went with this and not the Teese, this is a much more organic sounding pedal that does not over-exaggerate the sweep. Also this pedal stays at the same volume when initiated and has very low noise compared to alot of wahs. This is the world's best wah pedal, hands down! I have found my tone with this wah and I couldn't be happier with it.

I emailed Budda about power voltage in the UK, having had this pedal shipped over from the USA (which I had to pay ??27 HM Customs and VAt charge for!!). After about a week waiting they very kindly responded and answered all my questions. Incidentally, the American version will work with a standard 9v 240w UK power supply. Mine works like a charm!

I play alot of instrumental guitar music, fusion and funk, and I have been playing guitar for over 14 years now. This pedal is not for the Pod XT kid who wants a quick, cheap fix, but for a more mature musician who is looking for a sublime and subtle piece of kit. For those who want a professional sounding pedal that will cut through like a singing angel, this is the wah for you! Among musicians who use this pedal are Tak Matsumoto, Dave Navarro, Steve Vai (he has one stahed away for a rainy day), and Rob Harris of Jamiroquai.

I play a Baker into a Reverend Kingsnake.
My pedal setup is: Budda Wah > Maxon OD-9 > Ernie Ball Volume Pedal > Pigtronix EP-1 > Pigtronix Echolution
One word describes this wah: smooth. I bought it because my crybaby sounded like crap. The Bud Wah eliminated the top end harshness of other pedals I've used. The low end also sounds better than VOX pedals. I suppose I'd describe it as the best of both worlds.
This is the last model of wah I will ever purchase.

The wah has been very reliable. The 9v power adaptor jack is rather hard to plug into because it is very deep. This is less of an issue if your pedal is stationary or attached to a pedalboard.

The wah is great for every genre of music I play. There are some mechanical issues that can be fixed, however the pedal is tonally perfect.
The pedal is purple and chrome, which looks freakin' sweet.

The best thing about the pedal is how clean it leaves the amps signal when it is off.
I am a budda amp user SD 80 II with a budda cab, so I know how good this kit is. I am disappointed with the wah. When you pay a big chunk of cash for stuff you expect it to be better than the rest and in this specific sector of sound the budda wah is good but not great, it is barely better than my Morley wah, and I think I now know why.
The wah was DESIGNED by Budda but is made by Dunlop -you know of cry baby fame. The PCB and components are all dunlop but put together in the budda design. Now I have had a cry baby before and the budda wah is better, but not miles better. I was expecting a 9/10 here just like the budda amps but I am a little disappointed with the fact that it was not made by budda and that in sound terms though good it is not awesome as I had anticipated.

The unit arrived with a small problem that i have fixed. In short the rocker being pushed at the bottom leas to the pedal throwing a click back thru th signal -not gret for a wah.
I am sure that I am one in 1000 here. I know of the budda guys and they would be gutted to hear this. I may send it back if it comes back but removing and re-installing the PCB looking for the problem has curtailed the problem for now.
As for the casing and the rocker -first class materials and it looks better than any wah on the market.

I know the budda guys thru various emails over time, as I say I am a good customer of theirs. You will not beat their customer service or attention to detail. Their clients are their lifeline and they personify this approach everytime. I know that if this problem persists an email is all it will take to solve the problem.

This wah will replace my Morley Wah.
I use the budda rig with the budda wah, 4 / 5 other pedals and a dg stomp.
Main guitars are Les paul, Fender strat, G&L legacy Jackson, Charvel.
My sound is phat even with a strat, I play rock, blues, jazz, metal and moody melodic stuff for myself for others and I play in a pub band in the UK.
An ex pro I have been playing 24 years and have to plug the Budda amps here as the best in the world full stop. Took me 22 years to find them but I will never change my rig from Budda.
The wah, I may still flirt with other products over time but for now it is a nice (slight) improvement from my existing Morley wah.

i use an ibanez artist with a jb in the bridge and a gibson p94 in the neck through the budwah-ibanez ts9-ibanez fl9-danelectro dan-echo into a laney lc30 mk2.with clean or dirty sounds this wah is the absolute bogs dollocks. it has a full sweep (unlike my morley bad horsie which is far too treble loaded with very little mid range and bass),is clear and transparent with no real signal loading, and gives no real background noise that i can hear. great stuff

funny one this really. a friend brought this back for me from the states. on the day i got it i took it down to the open mic night which my band "the smalltown crooks" run. halfway through the solo in the second song i clicked on the pedal and everything went silent. bugger. the switch had gone off to meet it's maker. i was not pleased. however subsequently since it has been fixed i am thus far entirely happy with it.
