It's a wah, so of course it's simple. The boost is on the side and is easy to engage with my foot, assuming there's nothing close to the right side of the pedal (I use longer cables to make sure there isn't).

I use it with a couple of Strats ('77 hardtail and a Hendrix Tribute). My signal chain: guitar->boss tu2->wah+ ->Budda Phatman distortion (or Phatman->wah+, depending on the sound I'm after)->boss tr-2->boss ce-2->Digitech DigiVerb->Marshall JCM 900 Sl-x (100W). This is a very nice sounding wah. As many others have said, it does not sound harsh even at its trebliest. I tried it at a store out of boredom (and frustration with my CryBaby) and said "ooohh, I MUST have that". Very pretty, vocal "wow" sound. Sounds good with distortion and without and works well with the middle and neck pickups - good thing considering that I use both a lot - although the bridge pickup obviously gives the most pronounced sound.
I also love the boost feature almost as much as the wah itself. With a high-gain amp (e.g. my Marshall) it adds more overdrive/distortion (and a bit of volume), whereas with a clean amp it's a solid volume boost. I've used it as both and it came in very handy. It can add noise, but with a single-coil Strat this is to be expected and is not the fault of the pedal.

Definitely dependable. I've had it for about 5 years and it works like a charm. One of the rubber feet that cushions the cradle where it engages the main switch fell off, but it was my own stupidity. I'm sure the pot will die at some point (hence the 9), since those things wear out with time, but I'll just have it replaced by Budda. A wah is not crucial to my sound, so I wouldn't bother with a backup.

I've dealt with Budda before when I needed to replace the switch on my Phatman and they were very prompt and helpful. Definitely no complaints here.

I play rock of all shapes and sizes, from heavy to folk-ish, and it fits. The wah effect is great and the boost feature makes it surprisingly versatile. It definitely sounds better than the CryBaby I've used. I have not tried other higher end wahs, but I never saw the need to - this one nailed the sound I was looking for. Budda appears to have discontinued them (why??!!), so finding a replacement for a lost or stolen one would be a problem, unless I can get a regular BudWah and have it modded. Overall, I'm very happy with it and recommend it wholeheartedly.

uhm...it's a wah. It is pretty easy. Sometimes the boost can be a little hard to engage, but what can you do?

First off I am convinced that there is NO wah that will completely satisfy me. I have owned a Bad Horsie, Bud-Wah+, RMC3, Fulltone Deluxe, and now back to the Bud-Wah+.
I like this wah. It has the classic wah sound a la Vox (although this a jim dunlop product). Any other owners find it interesting that Budda covers up the Dunlop stamp on the PC board with "inspected by..." stickers? Nevertheless, it sounds good. It is not as throaty/growl-ee as the RMC3...but this one is not as tempermental or noisy as the Teese. The Budda doesnt have the uber-cool features of the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe...but this one costs much less. It is a great wah all around. I do the funk, phish, motown stuff, and this gets me by.
Now...I believe one of the best features is the boost (16db). Damn, this thing smokes. I got a Keeley 808+, HAO Rumble MOD, and the boost holds its own among them! With my amps (1968 Deluxe Reverb, and Peavey Classic 50) you can get some KILLER SRV TONES! It pushes my amps very well, and makes them sound...I dont know the best way to put this...Professional!?! I makes them sound wonderful!

good pedal. If you can get over the boutique snobbery of the Fulltone/Teese and try out this Budda/Dunlop bad boy, you may dig it. I really like it, and it is a testiment to the pedal since I bought again, after owning the Teese and Fulltone. If you have a good ear and good amps...you cant go wrong with this good wah.

This is where the Budda shines. It is really able to cover a lot of sounds really well. It's Creamy, Crass and All between. With the true Bypass it is invisible in the chain and is not hissy like my Dunlops with the Wah on. I was a little leary of the dB boost(because they always seem to add noise). But, no issues ar all.
The one thing that really sold me on the Budda was when I A/B'd it with the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe. During the A/B session. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't cover up the sound of my pickups. If I was on the neck PuP and hit the Budda. It sounded like Wah with my neck Pup. On the Bridge Pup, same thing, much brighter. The Fulltone didn't do this. It didn't keep the integrity of my sound like the Budda. IMO, an effect pedal should expand your voices, not limit them and the Budda definately gave me more sounds. (I was using my PRS Cu22 with Dragon II's for reference)
The only thing I notice is since it isn't totally crass...you might notice a little drop off of treble in the back position. It doesn't happen with my Dunlops, but it doesn't have the noise either!

Overall, this is my main Wah and I love it. It just sounds smooth with clean tones and screams with my PRS, Gibson Les Paul and Mesa. I consider going back to my Dunlops as a step backwards (I have both the QCR-95 and the DB-01 Dimebag Signature) It is very manageable and predictable. I would definately replace it without any second thoughts. The added volume pedal functionality is also a nice bonus..

This unit is a basic wah with an in / out type switch on the right hand side. ( see web site ). I have to put it second in my pedalboard ( L. to R.) because I want my Boss Blues driver first. If the Budda wah+ were first, I could probably operate the wah\ boost switch with my foot. As it is, I have to bend over and switch it manually. That's ok though, I just don't use the boost as much as I might otherwise.

Ok., here's where it's at; I don't thik anyone mentioned this, True Hard Bypass. My crybaby had a cool wah sound. The reason I had to get rid of it was horrid tone degradation when the unit was off,( or on). I had to add the Budda wah+ after I a\b'd every effect I currently use against plugging in to my VHT Pittbull Fifty 2\ Twelve combo amp directly. It was a real eye opener. I now use the VHT Valvulator and it's a dramatic improvement. Anyway, back to the Budda. It sounds very good in the wah position, smooth vocal sweep and all , kind of like a dream crybaby. Just the right amont of gain and sweep. The boost function seems very cool and does'nt affect the tone one microwhit in heel down position. When you engage toe ward, it just seems to add pristine clean boost to a clean amp setting. Of course, if your tone is distorted, it will overdrive it further adding loudness and\or distortion depending on the degree of overdrive. My current signal chain is; Kick ass custom strat or Tele into the VHT Valvulator, then Boss Bluesdriver-Budda Wah+-Original Whammy2pedal-Line 6 Delay moddeller stereo out into-stereo in Line 6 Modulation moddeller split into one side going into Line 6 AX2 Comgo amp, the other side going into the Line 6 distortion moddeler then to the VHT fity2\twelve combo amp with a Scholz power soak at 4 ohms between the amp and speakers and set usually to -3db reduction and a Boss graphic eq, ( seven band I think) in the series effect loop, for the occasional scooped sound. I play in a cover band 6 nights a week in Palm Springs Ca. We also record and perform our own original rock tunes. If you are ever in Palm Springs, check us out 4 nights a week at the Village Pub, or check out or website at www.dudejones.com.

My band plays a wide variety of cover and original tunes. I have been a pro player with music as my only source of income for 15 years. This thing does what the manufacturer says it does and that's pretty cool. It seems maybe a tad expensive, but I don't mind paying for the best. It has a good beat and you can (tap) dance to it, so I give it an 8.

this model of wah is very clean, responsive, and quiet. It is not like opening a trap door to a bunch of hissing demons like the dunlops. the Budda is very creamy and you can make it scream. The volume swell function is awesome, now I don't need a boost pedal for soloing, and it over drives my clean channel just as much as I need, gritty to distorted.

I play trippy rock with lots of delay, keyboards. The budda wah+ fits my style perfectly. I have been playing almost 10 years now. I play a paul reed smith ce22 into the budda into an original whammy pedal into a mesa boogie dual rectifier tremoverb combo. I use a boss dd5 delay in the effects loop. This is the third budda + that I have owned, the first one was stolen, I bought another one immediately, traded it for a colorsound, then decide I couldn't live with out it. The volume swell function on it is awesome for lead boost, and if you pick very lightly you can get some really nice volume swells happening. this pedal is great.

I recieved this amp yesterday. I never used a wha before and it was very easy to get used to. Within 10 minutes i was rocking the pedal and making faces with my mouth. I think it would be better if we knew when the wha was on or off, with like a light or something, but thats ok. It has a nice click to it.

I am playing this wha with a brownsville 15g piece of shit amp. This amp is terrible and cheap sounding. The pedal makes the amp sound much better, and the swell is good too. My classic 30 should be coming in the mail any day. I can only dream about how great it will sound. The fact that i can be satisfied after i play along with "white room" through a brownsville is pretty remarkable. This amp is definately not overrated.

the kick switch for the boost is on the side. You need good eyes to see if it's in or out, and in a live situation, you don't want to chance it. Use this to set the pedal as either a wha or a boost before you count the song off, then leave it alone. The effect on/off switch, stiff at firts, gets easier to use as time goes on. Don't whack it down, just lean onto the rocker with your weight over your knee, pressing down on the front. After a few jams it works like a charm.

My setup is Lone star strat with dimarzio virtual vintage pickups, BUD WHA +, TS-9, Tech 21 comptortion, Boss Metal Zone, Marshal Bluesbreaker 2, Boss 7-band EQ, Carl Martin stereo chorus, Line 6 delay modeler. (yes 1 piece of digital hardwear. It's the only delay solution I find practical and versatile enough.) The wha is pretty damn quiet at home and noise is undetectable at gigs. I play into a Fender reissue 65 Delux Reverb with a JBL in the cab and an EV SRO in a Ruby tubes extension cab. the wha sounds awesome. You can get the funky rhythm thing going And it has alot of finesse for leads all the way through the sweep. Its all good...know whut a'mean Verne? Just put it before your distortion or it will jack up the high end frequencies too much.

U2'ish kind of stuff. You know ,music. I been playin 19 years. I got a Marshall JCM 900 combo(Whanna buy it?), Marsh. "Artist" head (35 watts-very cool) And a '80 Les Paul standard. My first wha was a Morley Power wha. Later i got a Hendirx cry baby. When I got the budda I dropped the crybaby in the re-f*%#ing-cycling bin. I don't pass crap along to others. The budda wha rules. If you use it at the right times it will be a great asset to your sound. 'Nuff said. Gets a 9 cause it costs a bill and a half, or more, but then again, you get what you pay for. Here, even a bit more.

I have been playing mainly metal for 13 years. I have seen all kinds of different effects and wahs. Let me tell you that most of the wahs out on the market today are big pieces of shit. The Buddah Wah is awesome. The true bypass is great. Why couldn't every wah have a true bypass? Well, my tone is very important to me, and to lose it is not an option.

OK first I own a Verbmaster and Zen pedal also...so i'm biased:)
It sounds ...smooth, the boost is a nice added touch for solos
I'm not sure what a faisel inductor/resistor is ??? whatever it is, it make this pedal smooth.
Setup PRS CE22 or Guild Brian May into wha +, zen pedal, akai headrush, boss CE2, Digtech Talker, into Vooduvalve, into Verbmaster.
The wha is icing on the cake. True the Vooduvalve has quality effects..I use it as a preamp only, and mod the sound w/ pedals. consistent sound every time!!!

I mean, it's a wah. If you still have the use of at lest one of your feet there should be no problem. The only minor adjustment I would make is a little green light to let me know the wah is on, there is no such indication on the Wah+. Also, I would make the volume option a full volume pedal instead of just simply a swell. It is impossible to use the Wah+ to turn the volume down--it provides a boost only.

Absolutely beautiful. I've been using it for about 6 months now with absolutely no problems at all. I haven't played some of the more expensive wahs out there, but I owned a Crybaby 535Q for about two years prior to the Budda. Unlike the Crybaby, the Wah+ maintains its integrity at the extreme ends of both the treble and bass. It's a quality Wah.

I play all styles of music, mostly experimental these days (a la John Zorn & Brian Eno). I love the Wah+ and would instantly replace it if it were stolen (however I would consider buying the regular Wah since the volume swell feature does not particulalry excite me). It's a great addition to my seemingly endless array of effects. Plus it has a true bypass. Word.
