Couldn't be simpler--it's on or it's off, period. A copy of the Dan Armstrong Green Ringer, it just has one sound, and if you like it, you're in business. This pedal comes in kit form and is quite simple to assemble, if you have good basic skills.

Distinctive ring mod / octave sound. A bit unpredictable, in a useful way. Most distinct in the upper midrange. Very metallic but never so discordant as to be unmusical. Seems to add a bit of crunch as well. Chords sound weird and cool.

It's made with the best possible parts, and if you trust your building skill, there is no reason to expect it to break.

www.buildyourownclone.com. Keith, the guy who makes the kits, is friendly and responsive, and his site is easy to navigate and very informative. He's got about a dozen kits so far, with more to come.

This is a pretty distinctive effect, if a bit one-dimensional, but that dimension is extremely appealing. I'll be using it for indie/experimental rock and some electronica, genres for which it is particularly well suited. Highly recommended!
