Easy to work with this pedal. Volume, tone and the right knob. Not labelled "gain" or "drive", but that's what it is. Mine was a prototype, came without the plug in for a power supply. It takes two batteries. In production, it's one battery and a plug. Silkscreened letters and natural metal look ... which I'll bet is also different from the production version. Cute little knobs which immediately fell off and got lost. I purchased aftermarket knobs -- a little bigger, with an indicator arrow rather than just a painted line. Much better. A point off for those buttons.

It's all so subjective. The last reviewer find it pretty uninspired tonally, while for me, the very opposite is true. It has a completely natural sound and feel. I use it only for clean boost, right knob always full off. And for this, it's one of those "thank god I found this" pedals that stays on. Have played it with 7 or 8 different guitars, through all sorts of different tube amps (Clark Tyger, several magnatones, Sewell Wampus Cat, Bruno CT 45, UG30, Matchless Chieftan and more). At home and on gigs. It's perfect. No noise. No loss of bass. (That is a great luxury in any boost pedal!!) It's always first in line for me, then usually comes delay and outboard reverb (for the tweeds), sometimes also a trem pedal and silver kiss OD. It stacks perfectly with every pedal I've tried, not that many I'll admit.
For years I used a Klon, and loved it. The Klon does have this little extra presence, hard to define, but it's there, I've heard nowhere else. But the Boostier replaced it anyway. The Klon was rather picky on amps, seemed to be noisy with some, and a real fast battery turnover. The Burriss runs seemingly forever on two batteries (so happy I got the prototype.) The other good pedal I've used for clean boost is the Gainster. Once again, for this purpose, it was really no contest. If I were seeking a little grain or gain, I'd look elsewhere.

This thing goes where I go. It's been kicked around some, tripped over, all the usual live stuff. No problems at all. Seems utterly reliable.

I play blues, roots, lots of open tuning work with and w/o slide, lap steel as well as regular guitars. Been playing 41 years. I'm a tough sell on pedals. Never much liked them. Even the Klon. Wonderful sound, but somehow I mostly didn't use it. The Boostier is different. It just fit right in from note one. Adds the right something to my sound. Hard to say what it is, but I would not want to be without this pedal. It's a real keeper for me.

I PLAY VARIOUS STRATS THROUGH VINTAGE AND MODERN GEAR...BLACKFACE FENDER BASSMAN, BANDMASTER, VOX AC 30 AND AC 50, NAYLOR SUPERDRIVE 60, HIWATT CUSTOM 100 ETC... IT SOUNDED OK THROUGH THE FENDERS...SO SO THROUGH THE REST.
The Boostier is a booster based on the famous and much copied mini-booster "JFET mu-amp" design of Jack Orman (check out his site to learn more - http://www.muzique.com/ ). This design was also used as the basis for most other boutique boost pedals which sell for considerably less (around a $100 or so) except for the fulltone fatboost which is the most direct ripoff of jack's design and also sells at nearly $200. Any competent tech can build this pedal for about $20. Just ask Paul Cochrane (creator of the TIM pedal - 615-896-8555), he'll give you the full lowdown.
The pedals I compared it to are the ZVEX SHO, RC Booster, Klon, Red Snapper, and the TIM. It sounded somewhere in between the RC Booster and the TIM. Cleaner than the TIM and gainier than the RC Booster. Tonally inferior to both. It doesn't have the mid hump of the Klon or the snapper (nor did it have their fatness) but it didn't have as much character either. It's less bright and has more control than the SHO but has WAY less attitude and much less boost. Again, not as cool. It should also be noted that the low end, at least the low lows, were not tight compared to ALL of the other pedals. When it's on it kinda has this sound where you can here the clean note along with the boosted one. irritating.
Don't misunderstand me. This is not a BAD sounding pedal. It's just rediculously overpriced and doesn't sound as cool as any other clean boosts I've tried in its price range.

I found it easy to dial a good tone.
It only has three knobs. Already describe in other reviews.
NO need for a manual.

Les Paul Custom, marshall amplification.
Not noisy in my opinion. A very strong way to boost naturaly your effects or guitar volume.
I decided on placing it after an Overdrive and I am very please. It even makes the overdrive sound better overall.
You can dial it with no gain at all and I feel it is as 100% true to your sound. Natural, and does leave your tone unaffected. However if you wish to do affect your tone then I can see the mid cut knob doing its job and changing this feature of your tone. So it has your bases cover since I FEEL YOU SHOULD NOT MESS WITH THE MIDS.
YOU MIGHT LOSE YOUR OVERALL SOUND. FOR MID HUMPERS LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. OR JUST BUY AN OVERDRIVE(KNOWN MID HUMP MACHINES.. I HAVE ONE AND COMBINED WITH THIS BABY..HMM IT IS GREAT!)

Rock, Metal. It is good for any style. It boost naturaly.
If stolen.. I would hire the A-TEAM to get it back.. and if they fail then I would have to buy it. WITHOUT HESITATION.
FAVORITE FEATURE: how well it bleds with other efects and meke them sound clearer, more present(no mid-hump) and natural as said before.
I listen to other boosters and read many reviews.. thank good I went with this one. I A VERY PICKY WITH SOUND. AND SINCE MY RIG ALREADY HAS BOUTIQUE PEDALS ANS GOOD CABLES, AMP TUBES ETC.. MY BOOSTER HAD TO FEEL ORGANIC AND TRANSPARENT.
THIS ONE ACE ON ALL REQUIREMENTS .. WELL DONE!!

I'm running this pedal with some others into either a Fender Super Reverb, or a Marshall JMP 100 watt head.. And this pedal is very quiet, even when you turn the imput gain all the way up.. This pedal is one of those pedals that just sounds great as soon as you kick it on, and it makes other effects sound better also.. It also is a pedal that will keep growing on you as you play with it, and you will find that the Gain on this pedal is very nice, and sounds alot like the natural amp breakup that we all love.. Used also with my acustic guitar, into the Boostier, into the PA system, and it sounded awsome.. I used to use my Klon like this, and the Boostier has replaced the Klon.. The Boostier sounds more natural..

This is what made me by the pedal.. I was in the market for another boost pedal to replace my Klon's clean boost, and it was between the Boostier, and Keeley's Katana, both running interally at 18 volts. The Klon has that headroom because of the internal higher voltage, so I had to have that for the boost that would replace the Klon.. So I called around and talked to Bob Burriss for what seemed to be an hour and a half, he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever talk to, and really knows about amps, and how things work.. He convinced me, and said alot of Klon believers are Boostier users now..

I've been playing for 20 years and play professionally now.. I know good tone when I hear it, and I've also been through every pedal known to mankind. This pedal is the most transparent boost of them all, and doesn't add too much high end like other boost out their.. The more you play this pedal the more your realize how special it really is.. It's also very fun, because you can get some great blues tones, and jazz tones with this pedal that make you sound and play better.. When you hear this pedal you will know what I'm talking about, it is special..

I HAVE BEEN A BIG FAN OF THE KLON INCREDIBLE PEDAL.
TILL I FOUND THE BURRISS BOOSTIER. I ONLY USE A 9V DC POWER ADAPTER YOU CAN GET AT RADIO S. OR ANY ELECTRONIC STORE.
THE SOUND OUT THIS BOX IS SIMPLY PHENOMENAL THIS IS SIMPLY THE VERY BEST BOOST PEDAL I EVER PLAYED OUT THERE WITHOUT A DOUBT NO COLORATION OF YOUR SOUND ONLY BOOST AND JUST MAKES YOUR SET UP SOUND GREAT.
THE SWITCH IS MUCH LIKE THE KLON NEVER POPS PERIOD. THE BOX A BIT SMALLER IN SIZE WHICH IS GREAT. WHEN YOU COMPARE BOTH PEDALS SIDE BY SIDE, NO DOUBT WHICH ONE IS THE REAL KING OF BOOST WORLD, THE "BOOSTIER"..GREAT NAME BOOSTIER.THE OTHER GREAT ADVANTAGE IS THE FACT YOU CAN BUY TWO OR THREE BOOSTIER FOR THE PRICE OF ONE KLON WHICH IS NOW ALMOST THE SAME PRICE AS A SMALL AMP..WAKE AND SMELL THE COFFEE...GUITAR GEAR NUTS ARE GOING OUT OF THEIR MINDS..JUST ASK FULLTONE HOW MUCH MONEY HE HAS IN THE BANK NOT BAD FOR ARRONGANT F IDIOT AND HE CANNOT EVEN MAKE PEDALS THAT DO NOT POP...

Sound quality of this pedal is simply amazing.Plenty of headroom for a clean boost. The output of this pedal is very high. All of the knobs on the pedal interact with each other very well hence alot of sweet spots.I use the Boostier with a Marshall DSL100 and a PRS McCarty.True bypass causes no tone loss or coloration. This pedal gives me more of my DSL tone/great clean boost

I would say without a doubt I could rely on this pedal with no problems. It is made with a very sturdy metal housing. All parts appear to be top notch. Bob said if there are any problems to bring it right to him. I don't foresee any encounters with this pedal that I could not gig with it uncomfortably.

Here to me is where this company really shines! I went to Bob to pick this pedal up. I was given a very detailed description by the owner not only what this pedal can do but how I can use it through the effects loop and in front of the amp.Bob answered all my questions to a tee. His pedals have a warrenty of life!!

A multitude of interesting sounds can be coaxed from this silver box. It may require a little fiddling to find your sound. The documentation is a little vague, but the controls are intuitive and exactly what are needed. You can shape your note without coloring it.

I currently use the Boostier to recover my signal through an effects chain as well as a clean boost. This definitely improves my sound. It brings out the true sound of your pickups as well. I use Fender and Gibson guitars with up to 20 pedals into vintage Fender and Marshall small combos. It overdrives the small combos according to volume. The class A circuitry gives it a sensitivity to your pick attack. True Bypass is icing on the cake but I usually leave mine on all the time.

Silver hammond box, three knobs, typical boost/od controls, nothing fancy (on the outside). Simple graphics... Chicken head knobs (my fav). Sounds good at any setting but it really sounds great with the volume at 12 or above to push the amplifier some, it really has a lot of output so be careful.

Gibson/Fender guitars with various tube amps (some Burriss amps too). Not a noisy pedal, crank the volume and the gain to really get your amp going, it's still quiet. Makes your signal a thousand times more powerful, thicker, crisper, tight as hell. Bass response remains in tact. Your amp will compress as the pedal is causing it to work harder and overdrive. Overdrives my amps better than a lot of other clean boost/overdrive pedals out there. I used to use a ts9 a lot, but this makes the ts9 sound like a piece of cardboard on top of boombox speakers (!). Doesn't have the shrill/static that the Fulltone Fat Boost has (a great boost also). Makes Teles and Strats sound SRV fat, no brittle tones here! True bypass also.

No matter what guitar/amp combination you are using, this pedal must be a part of it. I would buy another if it were lost or stolen! If I were going to a gig and using someone else's gear, I would bring the Boostier just to comfort myself with the fact that I will sound that much better, dig?
