Gretsch and Gibson into a Vox AC30 or Burriss amp. Before I got this pedal I thought that fulltone pedals, the Fulldrive II and Fat-Boost in particular, were the best and only choices for boosts/overdrives. I paid $320 for one of the first Time Machine Boosts only to discover that it was one of the worst sounding pedals I'd ever heard and took it as a good sign that I should just stick with Fulltone. Until I compared it to the boostiest, I never realized how fuzzy and mushy the FD2 sounds, especially through my Vox. The Boostiest has incredibly smooth, detailed highs/mids and an unbelievably tight low end by comparison. The Boostier side sounds incredible for leads and is wonderful for rhythm and chord work as well. It surprised me how much saturation you could get out of this "boost" pedal. The Overdrive side is smooth as butter and thick as a milkshake without as much midhump as a TS-9 and more defintion than the FD2. The Overdrive does not have the volume that the Boostier does but I'm led to believe that "browning down" the voltage to the overdrive side is a good bit of how the tone is achieved. This Pedal made my AC30 a better amp!

Bob was very accomodating in getting this pedal made for me. I appreciate him greatly. His turn around time is less than spectacular but some things are worth waiting for.

I bought this pedal from Bob fully expecting to keep it as a backup to my fulltones. It has since become the primary boost in my board and the FD2 is now my backup. Bottom line, you have to hear this pedal to believe its definition and "tightness." Again, It makes my Vox a better amp.

Simple - like two pedals, one clean boost and one overdrive.

Boost is one of the best. I like the SHO, Klon, RC Boost.
Overdrive is an improved TS9 - less mid hump, smooth and responsive.
Both together very agressive. Overall a very musical and functional pedal.

I'll make this short and sweet.... I bought this pedal blind based on what I read on their web site. I'm no novice (30+ yrs) so this thing had to convince me... I can say I was pleasantly convinced, this is an exceptional bit of engineering. I'll put it this way, If you like how you play and what you sound like and are confident in your skills this pedal will thrill you. It's very honest and does what its supposed to do very well. I spend ALOT of money on gear so I have a fairly refined sense of what I think does the job well. This thing does it well..... buy one.

Emails with Bob Burriss have been quick and pleasant. I would venture a guess that he'll be all over it if something crops up that would pose a threat to his rep, but as of now I'll take the high road and have no opinion.

Very easy to use,the clean boost side has 3 rotary controls-output(level)highs(treble)and input(gain).Overdrive side has the standard level, tone, and gain.

I am using this pedal in front of either an Engl Screamer or a Mesa Heartbreaker,it is basically 2 pedals in one,but still standard pedal size, about the same as a menatone or mjm pedal, being compact it does not take up much room on the pedalboard. It runs on a 9v battery or has an input for 9v dc,I use it with a Voodoolabs pedalpower, the boostiest is true bypass so no tone loss when disengaged, also each side can be used individually or cascaded into each other.
The left side is the overdrive, the right side is the clean boost(the same as the Burris boostier). The overdrive side to my ears is best when pushing an amp already set to crunch, used with a Gibson on the bridge humbucker and your into classic rock riffing territory-play your favourite AC/DC,Thin Lizzy,ZZ Top stuff and this set-up nails that tone.
The clean boost is superb, capable of a light crunch or a volume lift whilst fattening the sound.I have had the best results using this side in front of the amps clean channel, very transparent,if you have a good clean channel on your amp already this side will enhance it,I have been really pleased with the clean boost particularly in front of the Engl,it just'furs up'the clean channel and is very pick responsive, and covers that ground between clean and crunch. The rating for this sound quality should be a 20 as it's 2 pedals in one and both modes get a 10.

I have just read a review for Burris's boostier,
their other pedal submitted on 10/14/2004 by someone who prefers to remain anonymous,he has a real rant about Robert Burris and his apparent refusal to take back a pedal on approval.
Well imo the best measure of a company is their response to any problems and I feel that I should set the record straight because I did have a problem initially and Bob Burris's response was excellent.
I live in the UK and ordered the boostiest direct from the Burris website,it was shipped straight away, but when I first tried it out of the box there was a loud pop when switching on the clean boost.
After informing Burris by e-mail,Bob told me they had a problem with the wiring, apparently a new employee was soldering one wire incorrectly causing the noisy switching. He offered to replace the pedal(all his pedals have a lifetime warranty to the original owner).
I didn't really want to send the pedal back across the pond, and when I said I was competent with a soldering iron he talked me through the mod via e-mail and it now works perfectly with silent switching on both sides. The anonymous bloke sounds like he has a grievance,I don't know, all I can go by is my own personal experience and Bob Burris's response to my particular problem was faultless.

I play in a classic rock covers band and this pedal has become a permanent fixture on my pedalboard, replacing a Keeley modded tubescreamer and a Fulltone fatboost.I have had numerous pedals probably over 100 in the 30 years I have been playing and gigging, and I love the fact that you have 2 great sounding pedals in one box.
I have compared the Boostiest to my favourite few pedals I have kept.OVERDRIVE.Score out of 10-
Burris boostiest(overdrive mode)-10
Keeley modded TS9-10
Fulltone Fulldrive-10
H&K Tubefactor-9
Foxrox Zim-9
CLEAN BOOST.
Burris boostiest-10
Klon centaur-9
Fulltone Fatboost-9
Banzai Coldfusion-8
All these pedals are top quality and who knows may sound different with your set up,I just like the fact that you have a really classy overdrive and clean boost in the same box,add the lifetime warranty and this pedal is a winner.A little expensive but what would it cost to buy 2 top quality stomp boxes which would also take more space on the board.

Fenders, Gibsons, and tube amps are my setup. Usually play a Klon Centaur, TS808 style overdrives, and some Fulltone stuff. My pedalboard is definitly roomier now with the Boostiest. The Klon is off the board (the Boostiest clean boost is just as good), and the 808 overdrive characteristics of the Boostiest is as good as any 808 style out there. Transparent as h*ll! Probably the best clean boost I've tried so far... I play classic rock covers and some blues stuff in a weekend warrior band, it's perfect for that (or anything).

I opened the pedal to see what it was all about... it was super clean and tidy, looks very solid and meticulous! There is a warranty so it's cool. I've only had it for about 2 weeks though but it seems very well made like most boutique stuff.

Like I said before, I play rock and blues and it's perfect for that stuff. I think it would be perfect for anyting because it's a basic style, transparent boost/overdrive... Been playing 20+ years in bars and clubs. I would get another if it were stolen, maybe 2! For two pedals in one, it's a rocking deal.
