CMATMODS MT-2 Mod

Other pedals I got modded by Cmat - Ts9, Sd1, Ds1

Its easy to get a good sound out of cmats modded mt2, but its a lot of fun fooling around with the new and improved EQ. You can get alot of neat tones. Even ones that sound unusable can be used in recording to get cool textures.

The tri switch is great too. It goes from a diode, to a diode lift (boost, clean..) to an LED. The combinations with the switch and knobs can lead to a long night of tinkering.

I heard its less noisy with the mod. I havent been able to turn up too loud, but when i tried it stock, it was noisy, and it sounded like a compressed computer. and when i say that, its not good!

Now, it sounds more tubey, and ... more responsive. Turn up the gain to 12 oclock, and you can get a solid metal/hard rock sound. The notes are saturated, but.. not buzzy or nasally as it was before. Its a usable pedal. Its a TWEAKABLE pedal. It sounds good in alot of settings. And thats whats important!

It can go from the standard sustainia mod to an led lift (for bluesier stuff) to an LED setting. I prefer the LED and the first position the best since my heart lies in rock/alt rock/heavy riffs and searing solos. This pedal can do it all. I think it picks up where the DS1 (modded by cmat of course) leaves off.

The switch and all the mods were installed with great care. I have experience soldering, and I inspected his work. Good parts, and much skill.

I have experience building and modding, but along the way, i have broke a few. Its part of the process. I was about to shell out hundreds of dollars for the boutique guys, until i found chads modest website. I read about him, and his style, and I think I really clicked with it. I asked him questions, and he was always courteous and got back to me.

In fact, the only reason Im writing this is because I feel deserves alot of credit and recognition for all the work he did for me. He not only fixed my pedals, but modded them, customized them to MY specifications, and shipped them back very quickly.

I play rock/altrock/metal. This pedal covers alot of ground, and even stuff I wouldnt even want to play maybe... The tri switch gives me options that I need to inspire me.

If it were stolen, I certainly wouldnt be happy about it. But I feel good knowing that I wouldnt have to shell out a ton for the other boutique names to get an excellent product/service. I will be returning to cmods as soon as I get my hands on another pedal. If you are reading this and debating chad or others... give him a chance. youll be writing a review just like me on his mods.

If you can't get a good sound out of this Mod, please quit playing. It's that good. I heard all the horror stories about this pedal, but I figured why not try it. This is my third pedal modded by Chad! Does that tell you anything. THe man is dfinitely a mod King!

I am using a Fender 72 thinline Tele, Fender Strat with Holy Grail Lace Sensor PU's, & Gibson Les Paul. I have a Peavey 50 watt Classic Blues amp, Traynor YCV50 blue amp, and a Roland JC-120 amp. I have a Cmats modded MT2, SD-1, & DS-1.. along with various other pedals and Rack mounts units too numerous to list. I have GAS. I am a pedal Freak. Chad's pedals are totally quiet and the soldering is first rate. I am saving to also have Chad do the TS-9 mod on another SD-1.. wow what a sound.

Looking at the soldering, yes I can say I can depend on this pedal. But the thing I can really depend on is Chad! I would definitely gig without a backup

I have been playing guitar about 10 years after playing Bass for 25 years. I love Blues, R&R,Funk, and old Motown. I have bought& sold hundreds of pedals over the years looking for the "great" sound. I am finally getting it with Chad's modded pedals. If someone stole them, I would have to get Chad to do it again with the same pedals.

It is a MT-2 it is easy to use once you learn the EQ.

Before the mod I was going to put the MT-2 on Ebay. I seen a guy on there doing mods for $35 so I decided to give it a shot. After the mod it is my favorite pedal! I can really use it now. It sounds so much better it is unreal. Chad took a totally useless pedal and made it scream. It has all of the bass I loved but all of the nasaly mids were gone and has a ton of tone! I will be buying more. Bravo!!!

I have giged without a back up and use it atleast 3 nights a week live.

This is the friendliest guy in the world he will really go out of his way to help. His attitude and knowledge really sold me. He even answered every stupid question I threw at him with real class. He truely deserves an 11

The best $35 I have ever spent on guitar equipment. For $35 why not!! If it were stolen I would have him fix 2 so I would never be without one! Its that good!!!
