Ease of Use
:

Simple 3 knob Boss Super Overdrive pedal with self explainatory controls. Chad at CMATMODS adds 2 mini toggle switches on the front. 1 controls the gain mode, Standard and Slight Boost with added presence.
Switch 2 controls the gain structure, for the TS-808 symetrical type (smooth) or the Boss asymetrical type (thicker with more grind). This would rate a 10 but it takes a little time to decide what you like. So in this case Ease is substituted for Vesatility.

What comes from this Mod is so Smooth and Transparent it will blow your mind for boutique quality on a poor man's budget. If you ever thought of wanting a vintage TS808 with the clarity of a Sparkledrive, with maximum tonal vesatility in an indestructable Boss housing...it is here. I've played through my Carvin rack poweramp, my Vox AD50VT and my Pignose G40V tube amp all with stellar results. The range goes from from Sweet Home Alabama to War Pigs just by tweaking the modes and gain control. There is only 1 drawback to this mod, and that is background hiss when you stop playing. When you play any passage quiet or ripping it's not noticeable but when in idle with the effect on, it does hiss like a tube amp. Even at max gain, you can hear every string ring true with a clean undertone.

First of all, it's a Boss pedal. Second, Chad does amazing work. I can't imagine any piece of my rig lasting longer than this pedal.

Chad is a top notch, professional who will answer all of your questions and steer you in the right direction of what you want.
I should also mention his unbelieveable turnaround time. I sent him my stock Boss SD-1 to him on a Monday morning and I had it back on Friday the same week...Now that is Customer Service!

I've had Chad at CMATMODS modify a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone for me and I have a sound clip post on the Monte Allums website. Monte is the guy who designs all of the mods and sells DIY kits and Chad is his official installer for those who want it installed like a pro.
I will post a SD-1 GT mp3 soon on his site. For now you can hear Chad's handiwork on my Metal Zone at the following url.
