The fully rounded edges are very comfortably and the neck size is excellent to fast playing, in my case the woods are koa body/maple top and the weight of the guitar is not so heavy, great to live performances.

I use with a 5150 and the sound kick asses!!, the pick ups have a great gain, and the neck thru construction give a great sustain, you can get a sound for many kinds of music with the pickup selector, but in my case I play Thrash Metal and my gear is conceived for that.
the neck humbucker is great to shredding solos, you can get a sound with a great middle/high frequences. This guitar is not noisy, the quality is great

I Play Thrash Metal since 1992
IF you want to known, this is my first DC747 but not the last...
The only feature that I hate it's they don't built the DC747 with an Original Floyd Rose (you have not choice), the Licenced one its good but it's not an OFR

I play prog metal/rock, in the Style of Dream Theater, Rush, Fates Warning, etc. And this guitar handles it all beautifully. I have a 97 Rg7 from Ibanez and it is great too, but the Carvin is amazing.
I have an extensive stereo rack system and two carvin 4x12 cabs on either side of the stage, and it is quiet, clean, and sustaians forever. Can't think of anything I dislike yet.

The guitar arrived set up beautifully, but I changed to D'Addario, super tops regular bottoms. (EXL125) and a 56 for the Low B string. So of course it had to be set up again. It is great! No flaws at all. The tung oil finish is smooth and fast playing. Solid maple throughout.

Being that is is all maple. I could hit baseballs with it, and I have no doubt it would withstand the rigors of the road. I will always have my RG7 as a backup, though. It has Straplocks, solid hardware (Chrome)

I have a friend who works there and I only deal with him. He is great. I have bought and still own numerous pieces of Carvin gear, and love it. He always makes sure my order is right.

20 years, tons of gear, if it were stolen I would find the bastard and torture him until he cried, then continue on and buy another.
If I buy another, I hope the have a 7 string Wilkenson trem for it.

This thing rocks! Pickups are powerful, as Carvin always has been.
Using a Shure Lx wireless, Sabine rack tuner, ART DST-4 preamp, Rocktron Intellifex On-line FX processor, BBE 462, Stewart World 600 poweramp in Stereo. Sounds amazing!!!

I have used Carvin Gear for many years and never had problems with reliability, I would use without a backup

I play progressive rock/metal in the style of John Petrucci, and this guitar handles it well! I also use an Ibanez RG7620, on of the originals with a Floyd style trem, and dimarzios. It is awesome but this thing is much greater. It is an Tung oiled maple body and neck, ebony fretboard, Sperzel Tuners, chrome hardware, fixed bridge, and a hard case. If it were stolen, I would probably cry, then hunt him down and kill him, but I would definitely buy another.
