Very easy to use - it's a simple footswitch!

Normally, I would put "No Opinion" for sound quality on footswitches because they do not change your sound. However, Carvin's footswitch is rugged and reliable. The other user that posted on here either has a lemon or just doesn't like Carvin products.
Reliability

As mentioned, this is very reliable. I've had this with a Bel-Air amp for a few years now, and it's never given out. I gig 4 times a week for most of the year, so this has taken the abuse of playing - and it still works.

I'm only giving this a "9" because I would like to see LED status indicators on the pedal. Otherwise, this is a well functioning switch unit.

Two switches, 1 for FX on/off and 1 for channel switching. Really easy, no manual needed.
Sound Quality

Doesn't effect sound except for a little pop when switching channels. I use it with a Carvin SX-50 amp. The amp they control and the FX within are both very good.

Here's the rub. I got this thing free with the amp and only checked it out once. About a month later I took it out and decided to use it in my live rig. After stepping on it 10 or 12 times. The FX switch failed. I took it apart and checked all connections with an Ohmmeter. Continuity was intact on all wiring. The switch, however, always read as an short. I called Carvin and, much to their credit, I received a whole new unit within three days. WOW! Only problem is, after 10 or 12 stomps it failed again. I am sending back both switches. I can't depend on this not functioning in a live situation. I modded an old Fender switch that I've used for 10 or 12 YEARS and will use it instead. Carvin has great products, but this is a dud! They need to redesign. Include LED status indicators for both switches and USE A HIGHER QUALITY SWITCH. The cable could also be longer.

Carvin are second to none is this category. Seldom is there a problem, but if there is THEY WILL fix it. They have built their reputation on their solid support. They get great ratings on this and for good reason. This is the first time one of their products has failed for me and I own A LOT of their stuff.
