Two knobs, vol and tone.

Sound Quality : 9
I have not used this in awhile, but seeing another posting prompted this review. 69 Stat w/stock pu's, clyde mccoy wah, clark fuzz, traynor amp (8-12's). This was my setup in the late 60's. I would use the wah as a treble boost - on with the pedal all the way down -and the clark vol and dist. on full. It sounded great to me, and I used the clark until I got a Big Muff somewhere in the early 70's. I recently tried the clark, and it stills works - sounding abit rough. The sound with the dist at the low setting is very thin.

Reliability : 10
Still works after 35 years. I guess it was worth the $25 or so.

I have been playing rock since about '67. I currently use a bunch of boutique pedals and a mesa mkIV, along with a '62 reissue Strat with EMG DG pickups.

2-knobs, simple

Sound Quality : 9
Sound quality is tough to rate for this pedal, as it is quite nasty sounding. it fizzles, and spews fuzz. At maximum fuzz, it really gives the sound of an amplifier, or speaker frying out. Definitely not a clean boost, not transparent, but beautifully crazy. If you're looking for a crazy fuzz for the studio, this one will take you back to psychedelia. I'll give this pedal a 9, due to it's unique appeal.

Reliability : 10
These Fuzzes were made in Clark, New Jersey around 1968 - 1970. I don't know if Clark built any other pedals. These SS-600's were built like a rock!

Huh?

If you can get one of these for less than $200.00, grab it. It has the same appeal as an Ampeg Scrambler, and has the ability to add some organic dirt to a digital recording. Very rare, and way over-the-top.
