It is super easy to get a great sound out of it. Turn all of the knobs up all the way and then adjust the tone. i switched the knobs on it so you could see where they were pointed. but that doesn't really matter it sounds amazing.

it sounds incredible. the best fuzz pedal i have heard in a while. i have owned a superfuzz, fuzz face, fuzz factory, many multi effect pedals, a yardbox, 3 big muffs, line6 DMM, all sorts of boss and ibanez etc distortion and fuzz pedals and this is the best for the extreme. it just cuts through the mix like no other. it sounds like a truck is running you over. i play the bass and the guitar and it sounds supersonic on both. at the most trebble position it has super high frequencies sort of like a fuzz pedal with a wah after it and on the bass it is really bassy, but punchy. i like very extreme pedals and this is it. it sounds classic and huge and fuzzy.

the area with the stomp switch is caving in a little but who cares, it sounds so good i would get someone to put it in another box if it ever broke it sounds too good.

Extremely easy to use, 3 buttons, although must admit it would have been better if these were marked some how

I use this with both a Tele and Strat (fender lace pick-ups)and through a Fender blues Deville and a Marshall JM60, it is the elusive "tone" that you get from this unit, a combination tone and sustain plus your Genesis type Fuzz which I find very wicked and satisfying, I own quite a few Fuzz boxes and nothing compares to this so far.

My only concern is that you really have to manouver to replace the battery other than that it is very reliable

Have not needed it so far but I did get it through Macaris (who are the makers of it) and they were extremely helpful and acomodating.

I'm into 60's and early 70's rock and Chicago blues which this pedal seams to me is very representative of. I would definitely get it again if it were to be stolen, The "tone" o brother the tone very few pedals have given me this, not to say that they are not tonefull but nothing like this.
I do wish it had some markings so you could have a refference and since I use quite a few pedals at a time some sort of light to indicate if it is on or off (obviously you can tell immediately if its on, but still it would be nice to be able to tell), it does indeed help making music as anything that gives you pleasure will enhance your playing and your muse.

with 3 buttons it's nice and simple. The biggest problem is that there's no gauges or pointers so you never know until it's on how close you are to the sound you are after. In the end I attacked mine with a pair of scissors and scraped some pointers onto the top of the pots. This works ok along with a bit of tippex.

I'm using it with a US standard Tele or Jaguar and a Fender Twin. I play a lot of 70's style deep funk (porno music!)and this is sweet for really breaking up the wah-wah themes. I tried numerous pedals before this one but this is the best fuzz sound I could find. I wasn't looking for distortion and this kinda limits possibilities. This is the best sound out there, though. Although there's no real crunch to it (good for me), I use it with a Vox Wah which really cuts through on solos. Great for getting an authentic "back in the day" vibe.

Never had any problems but I've only had it 6 months. I gig a lot and I have found that it's getting a little battered around the switch but i'm sure it'll be good for a while. I'd be more than happy to use this without backup and plus the fact, I couldn't afford another one right now.

The pedals are actually made from the shop that I got it from (Macari's in Charing X Road, London) and they know their stuff. They'd be able to sort out any hassles I did have.

If you're looking for fuzz, this is brilliant. The tonal range is not brilliant so it's not ideal if you haven't got a nice, crunchy distortion pedal to twin it with, but if you want authentic 70's funk solo sounds, don't argue, just buy one. It would be nice if it had the level indicators as mentioned earlier and maybe a way to replace the battery that you didn't need a full tool kit for but I'm willing to put up with it for the sound. Oh yes, also, i've played this through both Valve and Solid State amps and it's just as good through both. Think Hendrix, think Eddie Hazel. If it gots to be dirty funk, it gots to be this beauty!!!

easay peasy, three knobs is all there is to it, as long as you can get the leads in in the right order you can adjust the volume sustain and tone nobs to your hearts content....... except, the dials have no numbering or pointers on to tell you where you are and they don't all have the same travel, ie the middle of the range is not neccessarily twelve 'o' clock on all three.. oooops makes remembering your settings a problem. lob it in your bag and expect to spend the same amount of time fiddling tommorow.

not noisy at all when not on, used it when we were in the studio and just stomped on it to go from clean to dirty (on my bass as this is what I use it for). The actual distortion is fantastic. I used to use it alot when the band i'm in was a three piece kick it on and really fill out the whole sound does have a very fuzzy nature to it. I like it on guitar (dearmond jetstar w 2 HB) but only for real wall of noise distortion, you can't set a crunch on this pedal thats not what its for. But for bass that works well and it has a massive volume boost. I put it between my epi thunderbird copy with p and j style scs into a mark IV peavey solid state 400w and trace elliot 4x10 w horn. We play lots of dinosaur jr style stuff and it really thickens out chordal stuff and gives great extra width to everything, it's excellent for sustaining notes too and getting weird harmonic feedback effects.

hmmmm, I have broken it a number of times, I guess my steel toes cap shoes are inappropriate but with vans it hurts your foot to hit the swithc (OOOH). It is metal but it is in an enormous box that it doesn't need, the actual board and pots are tiny so the shell crumples under prolonged stamping. mostly it's the wiring coming free from the switch at one end to the board at the other. also there's no led to tell you if it's on or off and the batteries have to replaced by unscrewing the bottom which is a sod. mind you it doesn't need replacing that often even though i do use it alot. have often gigged it without back up or spare batteries and it never bust at a gig. I think that was luck though as it has often broken days before etc, but a quick solder sets it right. I also broke the tone pot off it, but that was cos I accidentally dropped a flightcase on it (it still works you just need to have long nails).

I was after somethingto fill up the sound of our sort of Sebadoh Dinosaur Jr meets Blur and Supergrass type songs, so i ended up with this. A great bass fuzz, I hear they used the original for the opening of 20th century boy but i guess thats not the sound I want for guitar. for free it obviously won on value (Huhuh) it really is loads better than the boss super distortion feedbacker i had before which didn't boost the volume enough and had a horibble crappy "distortion" rather than fuzz. When I had that and we recorded we did the fuzz bass through a marshall jcm800 and a 4x12. But when I bought this we just used the standard set up. UNfortunately i have had it for about a year now an I'm getting pissed off with little things like the battery being difficult to replace and there not being an LED indicator. On a number of ocassions I have switched it on accidentally and started a quiet song, making a complete arse of myself. To this end I just bought a big muff for #30 with an LED and a much more accesible battery. I haven't used it in anger yet but is satisfying at home, we shall see how that goes, I also tried a rat recently but found that didn't match the volume boost either. Also now we have an extra guitarist I tend to fuzz out less and save it for special freak out occasions. This is not a cheap box it's over #100 ($200) in the shops I believe and i'm not sure it's worth it. However I will undoubtedly keep it cos it looks mighty cool and I guess it doesn't hurt to have one
