i'm playing for 20 years different styles of rock.
there are two versions of the dirty devil. one got a boost and the second version allows you to change between two different gain-settings.
i would like to have a dirty devil with three foot switches - one for on and off, the 2nd to change between the 2 gain-settings and the third to activate the boost.

my setup: Squire Strat > Korg Pitchblack > Artec Twin Head > DIY TS-Clone > Dirty Devil > Ibanez DL10 > Small Clone Nano > LPB-1 > Hot Rod Deluxe

All powered with T-Rex Fuel Tank, the best Power-Adaptor!!!!

If you use a battery or a very good power-adaptor, like the Fuel Tank, it's not noisy at all. Don't use that cheap power-shit....

Reliability : No Opinion
very solid

i would use it on gig without a backup

didn't need support yet....

i play different music styles: country, rock, jazz, folk

i mostly use my overdrive pedals to push the crunch channel, they are set like a clean-boost or crunchy overdrive.

i like the crazy devil-voicing - the eye's of the devil are flashing...very cooooool :-)

It's easy to get a good sound. i've got the old version (boost-pot no on top). it's very easy to get a great sound. just put the devil between your guitar and your amp. works great if you use your clean channel.

You don't have to edit patches und scroll thru menus, turn it on and play :-)
It's very easy, choose your mode (i like the ds-mode) - choose your voicing (my favorite is the devil- or turbo-voicing), dail in your amount of gain and play

There's a small manual with some instructions. but you don't have to read them, it's self-explanatory.

mostly i play my fender powerstrat with my fender hotrod deluxe.
of course, every distotion pedal has some noise, but the devil is very quiet.

there's a separate booster on board. it's perfect to push the sound for soloing. the boost adds some extra basses and you get a solid solo-tone.

if you want a second booster, use the nt-mode with maximum volume and use the gain-pot for volume adjust. now you've got a clean-boost too, with tone-control and three voicing-options.

i am rating only a 9 because i wish i could switch the voicings and modes with feet.

Reliability : 9
i can depend on it. it's very solid. no plastic or crapy things.
i would use it without a backup.

i give a 9, because the battery compartment i only a little piece of foam. i don't care, i use a poweradaptor.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
it is a good match, don't matter what you play. The dirty devil is very versatile!!!! there a so many combinations with the modes and voicings. you will love it.

have a look at www.coolpedals.de for further informations

the dirty devil for coolpedals is a little bit expensive. remeber it's a handmade pedal but it's worth it

THE BEST DISTORTION PEDAL I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE!! Really, really amazing! All the controls make it so easy to get the perfect sound and the ability to adjust the boost and use that as a clean boost is perfect.

I just bought a Gibson SG and am playing it through a AC30 and the sound I can get is pure 'punch'.
