This is the JFM-100 Coron jet flanger & filter matrix. There are a load of exactly the same pedals with different brandnames and maybe different knobs and lettering, (Holmes, Grant, Nashville for instance, there are a lot more) but Coron is the most common here in the Netherlands where i live. All are 100% alike technically from what i understand. The flanger and distortion are no-brainers, using the filter-matrix will need some bending over and tweaking which is not very ease-of-use in my opinion exept when you are using it for synth maybe. A expression pedal jack would have been nice but no pedals of this age have that so i can hardly judge it on that.

Sound Quality : 8
I actually like the Jet (distortion) ALOT. Ive been through numbers of distortion/OD and Fuzz pedals (Boss SD-1/DS-1,Analogman Tubescreamer, Big muff, HBE UFO for instance) and never been totally satisfied. I bought the Coron just as a cheap analog Flanger really, but it ended up as my main boost for both my Marshall Silver Jubilee 50w. head and my Vox AC30cc2x. Though it has only a level control it doesn't have a volume drop, no mid hump, no loss of highs or bass. It's great for boosting a "broken-up" Vox or Marshall. I don't particularly like it through a clean channel, as i do NO dirt pedals at all, fake plastic sounds. I'm guessing the Coron distortion pedals might be something to pick up too if the price is right. The flanger DOES have a major volume drop when engaged though, wether it's with or without the Jet engaged. It does have a nice very present sweep though, which should have ran a little deeper in my opinion. Not bad if your the only guitarist in the band, but with 2 guitarists you get buried in the mix due to the flangers volume drop.

Reliability : 10
Well it's ancient and still working so?!?

No idea, i don't think the company exists anymore.

I never regret buying this, and if i lost it i would buy it again if i could find one. It's a great boost/overdrive pedal and a nice analog flanger that works well in front of amp in one box so a space saver too. I use it for my stonerrock band to boost a allready saturated Marshall Silver Jubilee with great results, and as main distortion through my Vox AC30 which i set as slightly broken up. Works great in both settings. I use a Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Fender Jazzmaster. Since i know Coron (Grant/Holmes/Nashville) only as a brand that used to make cheapo MXR clones i wonder if this pedal is supposed to be a clone of a other "big" brand. Roland Jet flanger maybe?!? Anyway, i like it.

This pedal has quite some functionality so it requires some time playing with it to get an overview of all possibilities. At the other hand, having as many controls as this unit gives a lot of options.

Sound Quality : 7
Sound quality is pretty good, considering the age and the noisy SAD1024 delay line used. It isn't the ordinary kinds of sounds so a progressive aproach to your sound helps.

Reliability : No Opinion
Well, I bought it broken (someone had attempted to tweak something I guess) (and knew that beforehand) and needed about two hours to fix it so I'm not in the position to judge reliability.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I guess they don't exist anymore.

This thing is, at least in my opinion ... Wicked!!

If you run into one at a decent price give it a go.

It has four knobs and two sliders, and separete on/off switches for the flanger and the jet which seems to be a disstorsion control.the with shift slider can be a bit scarry, and you have to be carefull with the speed knob.no manual.

Sound Quality : 7
I,m using a fender deville amp.ibanez paul stanley and tokai strat.
Its actually quiet compared to some. What impressed me most was when I have a distorted amp setting and I turn on the jet it dos'nt mess with the amp volume,it just makes it scream mor, sound cool. The flanger is a bit sutle.

Reliability : 10
My brother bought it in about 1980 and he never liked it and the shop would'nt take it back so he left it with me.I can't find an 18volt adapter so it runs on 2 9volt batts. So it's only been in use about 4hours in it's life so I could'nt say how reliable It is.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't even know If they exist.
